This was posted at the request of a close friend of the Officers family. So I assume they may come here and read the comments. I would like to apologize to the family and friends of Officer Ellis. Most of the people on this forum are not like the hate you see posted here and are disgusted by it. It is being posted by someone that takes every opportunity to openly post his hatred for cops. I am sorry you had to see this; it does not represent this forum or most of the gun community I know.

Military and LE get paid to do their job; otherwise their title would be Bounty Hunter. Rewards are to entice people that may not come forward out of fear, don’t care, or are criminals.
-
Never mind, no point.

In Franklin? None in the Boro yet

I would guess the number would be near 100% from reputable organizations. But it’s not like the names are going to be announced or be in the news.

What did he do? At 17 I was serving in the military during Vietnam. So no, I wouldn’t call the law on her. And I am not required to call the Police because I see a crime. If you fear her or think she may be a safety risk; tell your boss/owner and let them handle it.

He doesn’t want to leave office until he makes sure criminals can vote. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/feb/10/eric-holder-step-down-year-report/ For what? It wouldn’t matter if he was; Obama can pardon him.

This is a very interesting website about the last hours of the Officers life. Over 8 months and no one in custody; sounds like it may have been a random killing. What a waste.

RIP Officer Ellis http://www.odmp.org/officer/21789-police-officer-jason-scott-ellis My condolences and prayers go out to the family, the community and the Officers that worked with him. Some gave all.

"Loud Music" Murder Trial in Florida
DaveTN replied to waynesan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Instigating an altercation with a unarmed 17 year old kid and then killing them claiming self defense? I would normally say he would be going to prison, but this is Florida. -
The 649 is an all stainless 357Mag, 2 1/8 barrel, 23oz empty. It is basically a model 60 with a hammer shroud.

They interviewed a guy on the news with a car like this. He has been stopped twice, approached while getting gas once, and Officers have been to his house. Sounds like these guys are staying off the road or they are from out of the area.
-
I don’t believe that. The guy making all the noise about that is a conspiracy nut that has made stupid claims about everything from Lanza’s guns to Canadians ruling the U.S. I think any Officer in Command may be questioned about what they could or could not do. Could a ballistic submarine Captain launch? Could a fighter pilot take out a commercial aircraft with citizens onboard? (Lt. Heather Penny was given the order to take down fight 93.) But I suspect the crap about asking if they would fire on Americans refusing to turn in guns in simply made up. It would be asking a military Officer if he would commit a crime. Whether he would do it or not he would answer no; he couldn’t answer any other way. Lt. Penny and Col. Sasseville were flying unarmed f-16’s. They were given the order the take down flight 93. They were going to fly their planes into it. However, some other citizens did the job before they could get there.

That's laminated wood; so it’s in the wood category. I hate plastics and Kydex in firearms related stuff. Should be wood and leather. Actually that should be a law unless the rifle is by design plastic (or some plastic looking compound). My 700 VLS has a laminated stock; it looks way better than plastic but I still hate it. I would love to have a solid walnut high gloss stock like they had years ago, but I haven’t been able to find a factory SA BDL stock that will fit a heavy barrel and the customs cost a fortune. Oh, but to get back to the question… A 10/22 should be wood because it was designed that way; not as an EBR.

“Court of Public opinionâ€, “Plastered all over the news†for a failure to yield ticket?
-
You know of a case where that happened and the court upheld it? Nothing is impossible, but I would guess the chances of that happening are nearly impossible.
-
If they are both honors students they need to be looking at College with Military as an Officer after that. IMO http://www.usna.edu/Admissions/Steps-for-Admission/
-
Yes, all documented legal action against them both should have been admitted; that would have been more than fair. But we’ve been through this page after page after page before. You were absolutely 100% ,without a doubt right, on what the jury would rule Robert. You were spot on.

NYSAFE Anti-gun activist busted for carrying a gun into school
DaveTN replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
I would guess that, or someone that just saw the gun called in on him (Occam's Razor). That’s usually what happens when you commit crimes out in the open. -
I’ve never met a biker that has been to Sturgis and didn’t like it. What’s a “Sturgis Guy :squint: Seriously though I didn’t mean to sound negative; sorry you took it that way. You said you would love input and that’s what I did. I have done this several times during rides to Sturgis, California, and Florida. I was responding because a ride is interesting, but what you are suggesting is just burning gas against the clock. I am riding to Illinois for the annual ride on the Capitol at Springfield in May. http://abate-il.org/events/2014%20Awareness%20Rally%20Final%20Draft%202014-1.pdf In preparing my butt for this I thought I might make a run over to SMKW in April. I will post it here for anyone that wants to ride along. I’m not holding out hope for a bunch of riders from here though, I’ve seen how those threads go.
-
That is a 63 MPH average if you didn’t stop for 19 hours. Did you buy a Sport Bike?
-
Why do it in one trip? Why 19 hours? You are going to see stuff you want to stop and look at and see places where you want to stop and eat or shop. If you just want to make a long azz run wait until August and make the ride to Sturgis. Too much to see riding around here to push the clock. It won't be enjoyable.
