  1. Yes, one of the bad guys was shot dead. And his friends (if they are found) will be charged with (probably) 1st degree murder.
  2. The 7th and the 9th Federal District Courts have fallen right in line with the SCOTUS and Heller. The Illinois State Supreme Court has ruled that infringing on carry off your property is a violation of the 2nd amendment. Who here that has been in this battle for the last 40 years ever thought they would see this much action in a couple of years. The 7th and the 9th making pro-gun rulings????? I got really frustrated when some of the folks here new to this said we need to take baby steps. We have been doing that all our lives. Some of these crazy laws being passed in other states will not stand. But don’t let what’s going on in those states get you so upset you forget what’s going on here. The final baby step here has been proposed.
  3. It may come to what you think is going to happen. What will it take to stop it? Everyone needs to be clear that if the cops in Connecticut or NY or CA or anywhere start going door to door to seize firearms from otherwise law abiding citizens; people are going to die. It needs to clear that those deaths are going to be caused by the legislature’s that approved that legislation. How many will need to die? I don’t know if they are picked off one at a time it could be hundreds. It could stop when some cops refuse to participate.
  4. If they cut the internet off I could go get a second job.   Good question. It appears Tennessee isn’t much different. We have a bill submitted right now that as far as I can tell is constitutional carry or very close to it. It legalizes what everyone thinks they have a right to do but don’t; carry a gun. But we are being told by those in the know that it can’t happen. So what will happen when the bill comes along that says we can’t have assault rifles; I guess we will bend over again.
  5. You would have to be an idiot to start murdering people that are no immediate threat to you. From reading your posts I don’t think you are an idiot. It’s just easy to pump yourself up and start talking non-sense about what you would do in a given situation when you know the chances of that situation happening are about the same as winning the lottery.
  6. Good job. Wished he could have got all three. And in Illinois the other Robbers will be charged with the murder of their friend.
  7. Because in this state (and I would guess most others) you don’t get to kill people that you think are trying to deprive you of something. You get to kill people when a reasonable person (That means a jury; not what you made up in your mind) believes that you were in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. I can remember when cops could shoot fleeing forcible felons…. And did. However, the bleeding heart criminal huggers put an end to that practice (for many states around the 80’s). So if you can’t shoot criminals that are in the act of a felony but fleeing, I doubt they will look favorably on you shooting those that you suspect of a crime. See how it works.
  8. Yes. Why do you call it “Out of the blue”? It isn’t any more out of the blue than any other legislation. It is the next logical step for this state. There are no more “baby steps” left. All the baby steps have been taken. It’s time to put on the big boy pants and step up to the full meal deal.
  9. Moving that plant will be a massive undertaking; I doubt it will happen quick. I love Remington products and own them. I think they make the best bolt actions rifles in the world and their user lists prove it. But I would be disappointed if they turned their backs on the employees who have made them what they are today. I know a lot of them won’t want to make the move, but I would think they would want to keep as many of their good people as they could. Their employees didn’t cause the problems they have.
  10. The most negative comments I see are from those that are supposed to be pro-gun and pro-carry. Comments on why this won’t pass or why we can’t get this through. You are from TFA and it is my understanding you is a lobbyist. The TFA wants money; for what? For someone to come in here and tell us why this can’t pass? I apologize if I don’t understand the politics in play here, but are you saying we are wasting our time trying to get carry passed for all citizens? Sorry if I sound harsh, but I am not accepting that this legislation can’t pass. I don’t care how it got there, and for you to make the claim that it was proposed by at risk candidate who won by 4 votes sucks. Tell us what we need to do to make this happen.
  11. Thank you. ;)
  12. Then tell them about it. Most people aren't disrespectful to other people no matter where they come from. The only ones I have heard seriously making fun of southerners or calling them stupid are other southerners whining about it. I work in aerospace manufacturing with a lot of Southerners; not a lot of room for stupidity in that. When I hear someone blaming something on or disrespecting “Yankees”, and being serious about it; the people around me know they are going to get shut down quick and it won’t be pretty. And those around me that grew up in the south support me because they see it as ignorance also. But I’m talking about the conversations that are driven by hate or ignorance. My best friends here have called me a “Yankee” more than once when I have screwed up and I have called more than one of them a “knuckle draggin’ Ridge Runner” when they screw up. If it’s in fun I don’t mind. But like Garufa I am proud of my heritage and I won’t stand by while it is disrespected. Not when it’s being done over something neither of us had anything to do with. I didn’t fight in the Civil War and neither did anyone here. I am an American Patriot. I don’t think there are enough of us left in this country to save it; but we are in the North and South both united by the fact we are Americans.
  13. Exactly. So why the pity party?
  14. I’m not upset are you? It’s just an observation; the South is full of great people. But I have met many that want to blame all their problems on the North or ‘Yankees”. I’m sorry you couldn’t hang onto the uniqueness and individuality of your culture, if you think that is true. But you can’t blame “Northerners” for that.
  15. Yes, but the majority of them are retired and want to come here and tell you how to run the state. (Because old people don’t like change and want things the way they were in their state) We need manufacturing jobs not retirement communities. I also lived in South Florida and that sucks.   The gun culture part isn’t fair. I came here from Illinois and we all had guns and carried guns in our cars. Although we couldn’t have them loaded. I did and I got arrested for it, but the same thing would have happened here where carrying a loaded gun is a crime.
  16. http://blog.al.com/breaking/2014/02/report_firearms_manufacturer_r.html#incart_2box Dang man, Huntsville is the aerospace capitol except for Washington State (I work in aerospace right now) and now they may have Remington (My favorite rifle). And I’m stuck in Murfreesboro. This is good news for Alabama (if true) but pizzes me off as much as when Murfreesboro missed getting Harley Davidson.
  17. And you blame that on the North? You wanted the manufacturing jobs the North had; you got them. You are celebrating because the Unions took a hit in the South. You see that as a good thing, so why all the hate for the North? Unless you are talking about the civil war taking slavery away how has the North caused a decreasing uniqueness and individuality of your culture?
  18. It’s sad to see the kind of hate we see here and it’s okay because we put a Northern/Southern label on it. I hate to break it to those that are living in the past (that they obviously know little about) and so filled with hate that they truly want another civil war; but there is no North and South anymore. If there is another civil war I can assure you that you will have your hands full and it won’t be Yankees.
  19. .22 is a fraction of the cost if all you want is trigger time. At the rate the price of ammo is going up, I doubt there will soon be much price difference in the 9/40. Especially with the 40 being a more popular LE round; more production may lower the cost.
  20. Everyone needs to choose their round based on their needs, their beliefs, and their knowledge of the physics and ballistics of the rounds. “The fading 40” you have got to be kidding me. My first thought was what mental midget wrote that article? But then I saw it was on a website called “The Bangswitch” and I understood. The good news is that there is no competition between the 9mm and the .40S&W. You will never be forced to choose between the two. No matter whether you want a 9 or a 40; they will be there. Don’t get all butt hurt when someone tells you that their 40 will outperform your nine. There are plenty of people there that use 9mm. DISCLAIMER: I am not one of them but I see them here daily.
  21. It appears this is 100% American Made. http://www.heritagesafe.com/quality-fortress-gun-safes.html http://www.fortresssafe.com/ It is made by Heritage and appears to be a good buy. The 24 isn’t listed on their website so maybe it’s because it’s a discontinued model? I’d be interested in it, but when I click on store availability the five stores around me all say "currently unavailable".
  22. I don’t think they will wait. I think the Officers that participate will just seize them and make arrests as they find them. Vehicle stops, family fights, burglaries, etc. They way to stop this would be if the Police Officers refused. The problem is that when they refuse no one (the legislators) will ever know.
  23. Man, I wish Ruger or S&W would make a run of double action cowboy guns.
  24. The 7th and the 9th with pro carry rulings back to back...Unbelievable. The right to carry is being recognized at a rate like never before. Time to make Tennessee a free state. The legislation has been presented.
  25. They would buy from private sources. They are pushing hundreds if not thousands (eventually) of job out of their state. They are increasing their unemployment rate and losing the revenue these businesses and manufacturers generate. So I don’t think they would be upset about paying a little more for their ammo by going through a middle man. I suspect they are already, I doubt they buy direct.
