  1. Of course it isn’t Robert, you have told us that before. But humor those of us that don’t roll over and play dead. There are other threads where you can post all about that, please don’t try to drag this one down.
  2. Just looked like a hit & run to me.
  3. I’m writing a personal letter to my state representative and to my state senator, pointing out I am a constituent; I will probably email the others. But I’m still trying to decide if I want to spend over $60 to send a letter to them all. Mailing your legislators should be free.
  4. I can put this on some other forums, but this is pretty much a Tennessee issue. The most impact will come from the letters of constituents. I don’t do much with Face book but I’m sure some here could get that started. Maybe ask for support on the legislators Facebook page?
  5. A bill has been presented (TN HB 1855) by Rep. Vance Dennis and Sen. Stacey Campfield that would allow all law abiding citizens in the state to carry. http://legiscan.com/TN/text/HB1885/id/933578/Tennessee-2013-HB1885-Draft.pdf I think the members of this forum and all pro-gun people in the state should act on this and not let it go quietly into the night. I’m thinking a letter writing campaign would be a good start. I know email is easier, but physical letters coming into the office will get more attention if we can muster the numbers. IMO. What do you guys think? Should we pick a time frame and try to mail them near the same time? This is a big deal; I think we should act. Thoughts?
  6. I don’t have a roll cage or a HANS head-restraint in my car either. I live on the edge though; I only carry one firearm at a time with no extra mag and I have been known to run with scissors.
  7. Never mind the OP didn't like the thread hijack.
  8. If it’s an M&P I would say M&P Model 1905. 1906-1909, SN 73251-146899
  9. No, but it will be a pretty active thread; always has been in the past. I thought it wouldn’t be right to get the thread locked over a cop hatin’ thread. But then I realized I’m in a cop hatin’ thread; so never mind.
  10. How would Diablo, me or any other cops or former cops know what other cops will do? You would have to lay out the exact circumstances of the incident for anyone to give an intelligent response. You will have a few posts from those who serve or have served telling you what they would or wouldn’t do eclipsed by the number of posts from those who have never been a cop making assumptions about what cops would do backed by absolutely no knowledge other what they read on the internet. And it would be sprinkled by the few that openly post their hate for cops. So you might want to start your own thread instead of getting someone else’s locked.
  11. I have never owned a weapon light so let me ask a stupid question. Why does that light have a flip down lens cap on it?
  12. Was one of the owners in the house?
  13. Why would that surprise anyone? 4/6” 686’s and Pythons against M&P’s and Glock; not much of a contest there.
  14. I’m no hunter but when I saw that picture I knew that block wasn’t put there while it was alive and then it let loose. That tape wouldn’t hold for 2 minutes if his paws were free.
  15. Cheap? I don’t think you find anything much cheaper than Walmart; when they have it. Other than maybe some steel case, but I won’t run that in anything I own.
  16. Good grief, cops file suit against an anti-gun policy of the NFL and the bad guys here are the cops??? Yes, cops are a special group. HCP holders are ….. You guessed it; a special group. If it’s illegal in MN, do what Texas did; tell the NFL it’s illegal and they can’t stop them. I suspect it’s not illegal and that’s what the lawsuit is about. If that’s the case they will lose and have to leave their guns in their cars like everyone else.
  17. That statement implies he knows how they died. I wonder why no one is talking?
  18. Unless things have changed in the last few years there is no “Off Duty” status in Illinois like there is in Tennessee. You are a Police Officer 24/7 with full Police powers anywhere within the borders of the state. Some departments have “Departmental Policy” on weapons and arrests when “off duty”, but that isn’t law.
  19. Since your question is rhetorical I’m not sure if you are trying to elicit a response or merely making a statement. It’s illegal for the average citizen to carry a gun in Illinois; same as it is in Tennessee. We have legislation proposed here to change that but I’m told by those in the know it’s impossible that it will pass in this state. Meanwhile the Illinois Supreme Court has ruled that restricting carry off your property is an infringement on your rights. So things may change there before they do here, we will have to wait and see. The Officers at the scene can’t make a ruling in a shooting so of course his gun was taken; as it would be by any investigators doing their job. If that’s a big deal to you make sure you have a backup. The States Attorney will make a call on the shooting and the gun should be returned. The only time I have seen a DA blatantly refuse to return a gun to someone was here. I sold a gun to a guy in another county. It was then stolen in a burglary of his home. They caught the burglar and recovered the gun. The DA had the guy come to court and testify in the trial that the gun was his and it was stolen. He contacted me because he lost his bill of sale and without it the DA would not give him the gun back. I don’t pretend to be a lawyer but it seems unprofessional to me that a prosecutor would put someone on the stand to testify to ownership of a stolen gun and then refuse to accept that testimony himself. There will be a huge investigation in this case but it will be on finding the two guys that got away and trying them on murder charges. The video pretty clearly shows what happened with this guy. The investigation of him won’t last long; the fact that he is a cop will make little difference.
  20. 6.2 liter/ 415HP Of course there will be some people choking on some rice when they get their feelings hurt by a by a 4 door grocery getter.
  21. They are only $423 new so I don’t know why anyone would think $400 is a good deal. As many handguns as you have gone through you probably won’t like shooting any compact 1911 and especially a RIA. Don’t judge 1911’s on this gun. Just my :2cents: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411539804/Rock+Island+Armory+Officers+1911+45acp
  22. Of course it’s our fault. We repeatedly hit ourselves in the head and then look for someone to blame.
  23. 2000 jobs is one heck of an expansion for a company with 1300 employees.
  24. This is ridiculous. The only ones talking about a war with American citizens are the nut cases that want to start it. They will die where they make their stand. We don’t need tanks, military weapons, or martial law to protect what we have. Anyone that thinks our military is going to attack American citizen’s needs to loosen that tin foil hat a bunch; it’s cutting off blood flow to your brain. No one is going to overthrow my elected government; We the people have spoken.
