  1. Okay. Welcome to the forum.
  2.     Buds doesn’t have any in stock, but you can reserve one at $1002. There are some on GB, since they don’t say “new” I assume they are used: $950 up. I wouldn’t pay that for used. Have you PM'd the forum dealers?
  3. Let’s be honest; it’s about price. Who cares if there is a bunch of junk and other assorted stuff; there are plenty of guns there. Problem is they are all priced too high for the majority of us that know where to buy. I don’t see many of our local dealers or forum dealers participating in the gun shows. Why should they? Why should they pay to rent a table and transport guns when they will sell everything they have in their shops or on Gun Broker? Of course the internet has impacted price. Years ago you could find people selling their guns off cheap. Either they didn’t know what they had or didn’t know what it would bring. Now you can find out with a few mouse clicks. It seems to be a sellers’ market on used stuff. But I haven’t bought a used gun in a couple of years or more. Why would I when I can buy new for the same money? What I noticed recently (last two purchases) is that there are local dealers that will match or beat internet pricing. On the other hand there are dealers that have crazy high pricing but they stay in business.
  4. +1 Neither would making up some BS about being in fear for your life. We have these discussions all the time about what different people will say in their statement to try to get off. No one really cares what you were thinking, they will decide based on what a “reasonable person” would think or do in the same situation. If they are a DA, Judge or jury the reasonable person is them.

    FFL problems

I disagree that it’s a civil situation. An FFL transfer is not an element of ownership or theft. He paid for it and he owns it. If the FFL can’t transfer it or he doesn’t pass the background check; it goes back to the shipper for a refund. Although, I agree something here isn’t right. Background check isn’t an issue as it hasn’t been done. We will see.
  6. A burglary in progress will get the highest level of response from most PD’s. Usually as soon as the dispatcher got the address and info out we had Officers on the scene, with additional responding Officers setting up a perimeter. I’ve had to fill in for dispatchers before and sometimes the biggest challenge is getting info from the victim. My favorite was one night I was at a house on a call and I heard a home invasion dispatched. The dispatcher told the Officers someone tried to kick the victim’s door in. One of the responding Officers asks if there was a description or a direction of travel. About a minute later the dispatcher replies with “The victim advises you will be able to recognize the suspect; he will be lying on the back porch bleeding from a gunshot wound."   That must have been many years ago or in another state.
  7. Okay, I thought it was any of the 5.45X39 import stuff.
  8. AIM has it right now. $7.95 for box of 30; $7.50 for 25 or more boxes.
  9. Your hardware will be the issue, so you won’t gain much by upgrading unless you get a new computer. Win 7 is a good stable OS; I doubt many companies that are Graphic, CAD, network intense will be switching to Windows 8, I suspect a new more significant version aimed at them will be coming soon. I run both 7 and 8.1, both are fine, but 8 is different; some people don’t like change.
  10. An Executive Order can be challenged in court. I’m sure the NRA and other groups will try; but the White House has a sea of lawyers, the best in the country, at their fingertips. What can we do? Is a good question though. The pro-gun rallies didn’t work; the turnout was pathetic.   The majority of the public? I doubt a ban on foreign import of guns and ammo would be voted down in a public election.
  11. Shelbyville Lumber is now selling guns. I didn’t have time to look, was picking up some stuff for work, but Shelbyville Lumber co is now selling guns. I noticed some AR’s and counter cases of handguns in a gun room. I can see it now. Honey, I picked up that lumber for the bathroom remodel, but it was about $1000 more than we had estimated.
  12. Mine was over 20 years when they did it to me. Happened to me twice, both times I appealed and it went though. I tried to talk to the people at TBI and they were freaking clueless. I finally applied for a C&R and the BATF sent me a letter explaining exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Cost me $30, got a C&R, did what they said and hasn’t been a problem since.
  13. I do too. On a more positive note I read that CCI said they are adding more equipment and personnel.
  14. Not if it’s because a charge is showing up improperly; that’s up to you to fix.
  15. The first case would have been a good test case for the Tennessee Firearms Freedom act on the suppressors. Of course selling a firearm to a convicted felon hosed him beyond repair.
  16. Happens a lot, there have been several of us here go through it. Is there a chance there is something in your past that doesn’t have a disposition entered in the record? It doesn’t even have to be a disqualifying charge. I don’t know how it can get flagged one time and not the next; but it does.
  17. Jimmy has an apple for the teacher that he paid $1 for. Little Johnny is in trouble with the teacher again and gives Jimmy $2 so he can give it to the teacher. What percentage profit did Jimmy make on the apple?
  18. And the worst the economy gets; the more Cops, Firemen, and Doctors will be needed. With those of us that still have jobs or own property paying the bills.
  19. If I ever hit the lottery I will put up a Gun/Archery shop and range that will be the envy of the country. I won’t have to charge crazy prices I will have all the business in the area.
  20. Every job is important. My first three years I worked mostly traffic. I still have nightmares from being the first Officer on scene and having to give kids CPR on two occasions; they both died. Paramedics, Firemen and ER workers do that all the time, it has to be tough; I don’t know how they do it.
  21. According to this review they aren't. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/11/foghorn/gun-review-ruger-sr-762/
  22. If they price match Buds for guns they have in stock; they will be successful no matter what’s said here. (Forgive me if I’m skeptical of that) I won’t Judge them on one item. $20 an hour for the range is high, but I guess it works for that area.   Looks like we are getting more competition in the area.
  23. I see a problem. I just don’t see a big problem or one that I should care about. If you want to stand by Clintons dumb azz statements that 80% of the guns used in crimes in Mexico come from the U.S.; go for it. Common sense tells me otherwise. However, you are always carrying on about how cops here are going to go on some kind of a rampage door to door and how we need guns for when that happens. That is happening now in Mexico by a corrupt government and Police force, not to mention the cartels. Don’t you think the people in Mexico need guns to protect themselves? We should be dropping shipments of guns to the population of Mexico. OMG some guns got out of the country; lets get our panties in a bunch and have a witch hunt. No thanks. But what does any of this have to do with 3D printing?
  24. That’s Direct Metal Laser Sintering, while technically its 3D printing that’s not the printer you will be getting at home anytime soon. It involves programming, fixturing, and possibly even heat treating skills. For what? A 500 round torture test? I’ll pass. Point is; its cost prohibitive for making guns. Conventional machining is not.
  25.     I’m supposed to care if guns go into Mexico? I couldn’t care less. The Mexican government stands and watches as something more deadly crosses our borders every day, sometimes they even help. Screw them, and their President thinking he has anything to say about our gun laws. I’m no fan of holder but I doubt he knew squat; and don’t care if he did. It was a local operation trying to track guns going across the border. They lost track of them; I’m sure it happens with dope all the time. The only mistake they made was caring if guns went across the border. I don’t. It also gave the anti-gun crowd something to make a bunch of noise about. What really surprises me is how many people that claim to be pro-gun have joined the gun haters in wanting something done about it. I think if you think about it for a while you won’t need anyone to explain the difference in someone tracking guns headed across the border and a Senator being involved in illegal gun trafficking in return for campaign contributions.
