GB shows a dealer in Clarksville selling 9’s and 380’s, there is a .22 listed in White Bluff.

This is what I base my opinions on, having dealt with many people that truly needed a gun (in a state that didn’t allow carry). Women fleeing abusive husbands or boyfriends that have threatened to beat or kill them, people that don’t have guns or a desire to carry that suddenly find themselves in an ongoing life threatening situation. I could do nothing but arrest the perpetrators (if we could find them) and help them get an order of protection. Orders of protection are worthless if the perp is willing to kill someone. I have had people tell me that they are going to carry a gun in their car out of fear. All I could tell them was that I don’t blame them and explain to them that if it is discovered they could be arrested. It sucks. Training is great and I suggest everyone get it. But sometimes it is not an option and the original point and click interface doesn’t require a rocket scientist. Innocent people that have had their lives threatened shouldn’t have to die because they are afraid to violate a state carry law; but they do.

It all comes down to an escalation of force and your level of willful participation. If I was a willing participant in a fight I would use my hands. If I started losing and pulled a gun I would expect to go to prison. When I was a cop I never used my hands for anything except pushing my assailant away so I could grab either my mace, baton or gun, depending on the circumstances. I wasn’t required to go hands on with anyone then and I’m not as a citizen today (regardless of level of badazzerey); in an unprovoked attack.

That’s easy enough... It’s a Right or a Privilege. What you are suggesting is a privilege; we already have that.

The one thing that would make a great gun show is something you don’t have any control over and that’s the availability and pricing of guns. Maybe some of our local dealers will jump in here, but I think that's why most of them don’t participate. Why should they? If they are price competitive they will sell everything they have and don’t have to drag stuff to a gun show and pay for a table.

So let me get this straight. A bill that was overwhelmingly passed was shot down by a 10 man subcommittee because they, out of the blue, decided there was a $100K cost attached to it because in their minds a line about “concealed carry†would have to added to our permits?

According to this it is... http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2014/apr/14/sponsor-says-he-would-raise-money-for-open-carry/

Looks good. Did you put a new stock on it? That doesn't look like a 1955 stock.

Who else is getting numerous phone calls about health care?
DaveTN replied to daddyo's topic in General Chat
There are a bunch of people sitting at home in Southeast Asia that don’t give a rats azz about your “do not call listâ€. The American company that is financing them sent them all your phone number at the same time. Once they get their database over there straightened out you will probably only get one or two calls a day. BTW.... I think Obama did away with the DNCL by Executive order. You know.... Obama Care and all. -
My D.M. Bullard Dual Carry is pretty substantial and doesn’t collapse when you take the gun out. I also have a crossbreed Supertuck for the same gun and it is in no way comparable to the D.M. Bullard (other than it’s a holster).

I know many of you can justify a $200+ knife; I just can’t for an EDC. So now that we will be able to have them in July; post what you have found. For under $100 this M&P 1600 looks interesting. It appears to be made by Taylor Brands. http://www.bladeops.com/Smith-Wesson-M-P-Automatic-Knife-BeadBlast-Plai-p/swmp1600.htm

My point exactly. However the state does not agree. We can believe whatever we want; but that doesn’t matter when we are standing in front of a Judge. I am absolutely sure of that.
-
Two separate issues here; some claiming the right to carry under the 2nd amendment and some saying training should be required for open carry or that untrained people carrying bothers them. Some of you get pretty torn up when Judges legislate from the bench (they get to do that because the laws aren’t clear) or you don’t agree with the SCOTUS decisions. Requiring training to carry is the same thing, that is if you are making a "rights" argument. I support that anyone should be able to carry open or concealed whether they have training or not; it’s a right. I just don’t believe that right comes from the 2nd amendment. As long as we are discussing “open carry†it’s not a rights issue anymore and the state can put whatever training requirements they want on it.

I’ll have to get one, but as usual we .40S&W shooters will have to wait.
-
Look at it as doing your small part to help our struggling economy; it’s your duty to go get that Shield.
-
Wonder how long that means? 8 years of rifles must be a massive amount.
-
This is not a 2nd amendment issue. If our legislature was recognizing a right to carry; they wouldn’t be voting on an “open†carry bill. Unless it has been pulled we have a bill that is close, if not Constitutional carry.
-
I have a Shield and all I can say is if you guys are pocket carrying you must be wearing some baggy azz pants with some pretty big pockets.

Your IQ would have to be lower than your age to make a statement like that.

I don’t think it would be of any surprise to anyone or any breach of security to say that our subs could find a jumbo jet in the ocean.

This was a headline I saw at lunch today. I don't like to laugh at this kind of stuff, but I couldn't help it. Ya think? What really pizzes me off though is that there is a group of lawyers here trying to get the families of the victims to join a lawsuit against Boeing. They don’t even know if this plane crashed (although I’m sure it has), but they are jumping in early on the deep pockets. They are scum.
