I think you could have a problem in this state. It does not meet the definition of a handgun for this state.

What am I missing here? Who needs to be strapped in to an AR pistol? -
I got mine six years ago. I tried for a long time to find a used one, but the prices were crazy. Guns & Leather sold me a new one for much less than the people with used were asking.

My 617 is my favorite "trigger time" gun. When did they quit making them, they are still listed on their website?

As a Police Officer I cuffed and stuffed people took them to jail where they stayed until they could post a bond. So forgive me if I laugh when I hear innocent until proven guilty. A person should not have to be taken into custody unless they are a (in the eyes of the investigating Officers or a Judge) a threat to someone. How does putting up money make them less of a threat? The right to remain silent isn’t an issue. Everyone knows they have that right. Most of the time you can’t shut people up, then they want to use Miranda to get the statements they made thrown out of court. Even when they sign a waiver they will try to get statements thrown out; I don’t see anything changing here. Two of the other big problems I have seen is you buy your level of “justiceâ€. Some people can’t afford the best attorney. The other issue is you are rarely paying for their courtroom experience; but who they know to make the best deal. How many of your cases go to a full trial? It’s still a good system; it just isn’t a “Justice for all†system. Could it be made a better system without more of a burden on taxpayers; probably not.

The purpose of those protrusions out the side near the tip is for reinforcement? I wouldn’t want that, but otherwise it is a good looking knife.

How did this work out for you? I want a low recoil autoloader that is made in the USA. This article says it has less recoil than the Beretta Extreme? http://www.fieldandstream.com/blogs/gun-nuts/2011/12/top-5-softest-kicking-semi-auto-shotguns

I already have an AR10 but I’m waiting for S&W to put a quad and a heavy barrel on the M&P10….and they will. I just wish they would hurry up.

You would have a problem because you were not an innocent victim; but a willful participant. If you had not said anything and kept walking and the person attacked you; you would be justified in using force. Pulling a weapon is not deadly force. Tennessee has no law against brandishing. If you threaten a person with your weapon and were not justified the charge would probably be felony assault. Would you be charged if you shot him? You very well could be; depends on how the DA sees it. But even if they walk away after you pull your weapon; call the Police and wait for them to arrive. The first caller is the “complainant†the second caller is the “suspectâ€. Having said that I keep my mouth shut when I’m carrying and I would have to be taking a pretty bad azz whipping to pull a gun. The chances of me being hurt seriously or killed are slim; the chances of me destroying my family’s finances will legal bills are much higher.

Walk If you have to walk off your property the gun and magazine would have to be unloaded.

Permitless carry in vehicle
DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As I have said many times we don’t have a justice system we have a legal system. If there is a problem you will get as much justice as you can afford. We all give our opinions here based on our experience. Reading the law and understanding it should be easy; but it is not. It was written by lawyers. Law is bound by state boundaries, what is done is one state is something different in another state. My experience in law enforcement is from another state, so I have to try to find out what a particular set of circumstances would mean in Tennessee. When I look at a law or someone asks me about a specific law I don’t try to think about what would win in court; I try to think of what action would keep me from going to court. If I were a law maker in Tennessee and wanted to pass a bill that said someone couldn’t be fired for having a gun in their car; I would understand that I am in an employment at will state and have to address that with the law. That was not done. If I were a student and wanted to know if I could keep a gun in my car I would go straight to the department that would be enforcing that and get an answer. Same with an unloaded firearm. (Although I’m not sure what law you are referring to) What will be prosecuted and how it will be prosecuted can change County to County and Department to Department. We are responsible to find out what the law is where we are. It’s ridiculous that someone would have to pay to listen to some out of state hack on the use of deadly force when it is the local DA that will be calling the shots and they should be putting on those seminars in every County for free. But I don't see that happening. But that’s law. And it’s why in this information age we have these forums. You can ask a question and you will get answers. Some of the responses will be reasonable and informative and some will be completely wrong. It’s up to you to find out what is right. My opinion on guns on traffic stops comes from having done thousands of traffic stops, having guns pulled on me, having been in shootings and having seen citizens and fellow Officers shot. I don’t think an Officer should disarm everyone that has a gun; but if I felt the need to disarm someone I would do it in a heartbeat I really wouldn’t be worried about what anyone else thought about it. So my opinion will probably be different from that of someone that doesn’t really know what cops run into stopping cars. And think because they aren’t a criminal that all HCP holders are living at the foot of the cross. So we all offer our feedback and it is what it is. -
Permitless carry in vehicle
DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That's usually pretty simple. As I said, I don’t see anything that would make me believe that me and all my friends could not have a gun in my car. I see nothing to indicate it is limited to one person, or only the owners of the vehicle. But I could be wrong. I don’t think that is the intent of the law. -
So its a felony if someone is in the car? Do they have to be injured? Glad your friend jumped in and stopped him.

With multiple people involved I’m sure it will go down the same way drugs do. Separate/Mirandize/Interrogate; some go home and some go to jail. -

If there is only one gun and the owner\operator who is sober says it’s his; no problem. If it isn’t his he’s risking an obstructing charge. (Probably a felony in this state, but I’m not sure on that.) -

If the “something else†is drugs or DUI; the gun will add charges. -
Nope, first thing I thought of when I saw it. Only I thought about a cracked or split case getting set off. Is it likely? No, but I have reason to risk it.

Yes, just like if they stole it or had drugs in it. Nope, not unless you throw a barred person into the mix. I know the laws don't always make sense as to their intent, but if you can legally have a gun in your car, why couldn't you legally have a gun in my car? -

DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don’t think the statute requires that the person “own†or even be the driver of the vehicle; only that they are not in possession of the vehicle unlawfully. Constructive possession. If you have a gun in the console, have other people in the car, and need to go into a store, what are you supposed to do, make the people get out of the car because they don’t own it? I doubt it. As long as they can lawfully possess a gun I think they would be okay; they are also in possession of the vehicle. But I’m not a lawyer and I don’t play one on TV. -
CMMG...Why, oh, why did I listen to Outpost Armory?
DaveTN replied to E4 No More's topic in Long Guns
Read my post #24. As I said I doubt OA will take it back, but they might ship it for him. S&W would send me a prepaid shipping label, will CMMG do that? I don’t know but it won’t hurt to ask. I was commenting on his “customers and sense of entitlement†statement. Sounds like he needs to find a career other than retail sales. We have three or four forum dealers that I have seen take care of any problem they were made aware of. -
I would try this first...To order, call our Customer Service Department at 305.624.1115 (Taurus) https://delta3outfitters.com/store/products/MAG-TAURUS-738TCP-380ACP-6RD-BL.html http://demo-acu.gundealersusa.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=9160

Then start your own business. You can call it “SOLD AS ISâ€. Who knows; it may be a hit.
