Can't be on a sex offender registry if he isn't convicted. -
Will Hayden (Sons of Guns) arrested for child molestaion "allegedly"
DaveTN replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in General Chat
I know it’s not Steph, but I’m wondering if the woman involved is her mother? If this isn’t true and was just to be vindictive; she killed her daughters show and the income from it. As you and I both know a vindictive ex can be crazy; I’m just trying to get the picture. And I’m making no assumptions about whether it’s true or not; I have no idea. And who is the “ex-employee†they are talking about? -
Will Hayden (Sons of Guns) arrested for child molestaion "allegedly"

Are the two victim’s different people? Isn’t his older daughter the owner of Red Jacket? Is her mother or some other ex-girlfriend the one they say are making the claims? -
Will Hayden (Sons of Guns) arrested for child molestaion "allegedly"

If there was enough probable cause for an arrest warrant I’m confused as to why the kid was released back into a house he lives in. Something is not right. -
Your school should be able to help, register and file a resume with your local job service, Private Head Hunters are a good resource, but companies won’t generally pay their fees unless you have experience. I’m getting calls all the time, they always ask if I know anyone that is looking; there is no shortage of jobs for qualified machinists. You may have to move where the work is.

9-year-old girl accidentally kills instructor with Uzi
DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Terrible tragedy. Bad choices cost an instructor his life and who knows what impact it will have on the little girl. -
Congratulations. The term “machinist†is thrown around pretty fast and loose; it is a dying trade and those that are good at it can make a good living. We hire a lot of trainees from the trade schools. I have been in the business since 1971 and will give you this piece of advice: take what you can get and learn. Listen to those around you and listen to what makes sense. Programming is a good goal, but I’ve never seen a good programmer that wasn’t a good machinist first. Don’t take this in a negative way; it isn’t meant to be. Your diploma will get you in the door, but it doesn’t really mean anything to anyone. You are entering a field where your performance and ability to make parts correctly will determine your pay. You have been given the tools to start that; now it’s up to you. If you don’t want to run production you will need to find a job shop or Tool Shop. But don’t pass up a production job while you are looking. As most will tell you; it’s much easier to get a job when you have one than when you don’t. Plus you will get experience on what you want to program for.

A negligent discharge or an intentional shooting takes place at (fill in the name of the mega deep pockets business here) and someone gets seriously injured or killed. The sharks will be circling and many will think the victim deserves a payday. That’s what lawyers try to protect the businesses they work for from. If the state wants to allow carry, or in the case of the parking lot bills, force allowing guns on private property; those same laws should give the businesses absolute immunity from even having to defend themselves in a civil suit. But that is not the case and I’m not sure they could do that. Here is an example; I'm sure there are many more. http://www.twincities.com/ci_22498303/minneapolis-family-accent-signage-shooting-victim-sues

C&R only. It’s not a dealer’s license. I have never had a gun shipped to me on mine, but I have saved hundreds on purchases of other stuff. But that was mostly with Midway; I don’t think they give a dealers discount to C&R holders anymore.

Relatives say man shot, killed by police was not armed
DaveTN replied to greenego's topic in General Chat
Guess we will have to wait and see. -
Best I can tell that’s H&H Tool Shop. I wish any machine shop that starts gun manufacturing in the area the best of luck. We have the ability to make most anything where I work. I keep talking to the owner about how the gun market is booming, but not sure we would want to deal with the BATF.

DaveTN replied to greenego's topic in General Chat
Those aren’t facts; they are excuses from his brother. He doesn’t know what he could hear or what he was doing. Whether or not you have respect for the Police has nothing to do with it. I won’t make any judgments (not that mine matters) until I hear both sides or have more information than a cop shot a thug that was unarmed. -

DaveTN replied to greenego's topic in General Chat
You don’t need to be armed to get shot. Very few details other than they were responding to shots fired and when they ordered him to the ground he grabbed at his waist. His brother said he was pulling his pants up. He had a warrant for probation violation on felony robbery. Maybe Obama will call the Chief and tell him to be "transparent" with this investigation. Or maybe he can send Holder to tell BS stories about being harassed by the cops. -
What is the proper way to privately buy firearms?
DaveTN replied to bird333's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
So some states just decided to allow long gun purchases from FFL’s by people from neighboring states with no federal law covering it? -
I would guess NY folks have access to the same on-line places we do. They just are limited to “compliant†guns.
-
I read the first page of that HPN Gun Club you linked. I have to admit I laughed out loud. Didn’t you? Or are you buying into that load of crap? There are no gun rights involved in that message; they are whining about cops shooting criminals. If they make any headway in their attempt to tie the hands of the Police (and they won’t) the criminals will be at the doors of citizens. But in the spirit of full disclosure I’m a former cop and I support and respect my local Police. If one of them does something wrong I speak out. EDIT: Is that webpage yours?

Yes we do. They were in a fight in the car, the officer was injured and a shot was fired inside the car. That is not in dispute. I just could not care less if the thug was throwing up his hands somewhere between round 2 and round 6. If anyone decides to open carry in a protest against Police, I don't want to be anywhere around. One nutcase cranks off a round and bodies start dropping.

On or Off book; does it matter?
DaveTN replied to Steelharp's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I’m not sure why you think it would matter? Where the gun came from will have zero impact on a shooting and I don’t really think my carry gun is going to be confiscated for any period of time unless I’m going to trial, in which case the cost of the gun will be pretty insignificant compared to lawyer bills. -
Thanks for that heartwarming story Holder; you POS. The President sent this dumb ass there to try to help with restoring calm? Amazing.

The cop had been beaten in the face and a round had been fired inside the car in a fight for control of his weapon. If that had been you (as a cop or protecting your family) and you were shooting to stop the threat would you not be outraged if someone suggested you could have used a taser? If you had thought about that a couple of minutes longer, do you think you still would have asked that? If you were protecting yourself or your family from an attack from a thug and you emptied a 15 round mag into him most here would support you. I know I would. I simply do not care if somewhere between round 2 and round 6 the thug was trying to surrender. Now the Feds and the Governor have made it clear they do care and they now have an agenda…. And it’s wrong.
