Are you both not from Tennessee?

We are getting a dog!!! Where to train and which one??
DaveTN replied to Ladyhay's topic in General Chat
Good point. I forget that because to me all dogs are inside animals. The heat of Tennessee is also cruel to a dog. -

I have had Dobermans, Shepard’s, Boxers and Samoyeds. All have been great dogs. So here are some thoughts.. As far as guard dogs or the “intimidation†factor; burglars will pass on most houses with large dogs making noise. Home invaders don’t care what kind of dog you have they will be prepared for that when they come through the door, a dog might slow them down for a second, but your protection will be up to you. All my Doberman had to do to be intimidating was show up. That’s good and bad. Good that people that came around the house knew he was there, bad that people were afraid of him. Any dog big or small will alert you when something is going on; best security system ever. Hair… When I had a Samoyed everything I owned had white dog hair in it or on it. Dobermans and Boxers aren’t as bad. Liability and responsibility. You are responsible and liable for the actions of your dog…. Period. Unless someone is breaking into your home or attacking you and your dog bites them; you have problems. If you have a large dog you need a fenced yard that can contain them. Training. You have the right idea in getting training. You need to do it immediately with a new puppy. Dogs are pack animals and they have to know you are the leader. All good trainers will do is teach you how to train your dog; they won’t train it for you. It takes time and work at home. Socialization. Your dog needs to be around other people and dogs. Start this when they are very young. Take them out and about with you. If you love your dog and take care of it, its love for you and your children will be unconditional; this is truly a gift. Good luck with your search. -
That’s quite a deal if it’s any good. Rohn tower goes for over $100 per 10’ section new and used will bring half that easy. Also look at some of the HAM or CB sites like eham.net.

This isn’t a gun issue and shouldn’t be. I can remember when if someone had done that in a restaurant; someone would have got up and stomped a mud hole in his ass. In the state I was in I would have had the privilege of arresting the dirtbag for felony battery and seeing how things worked out for him in jail. He would have got his in the end all right...

Oh I don’t know…. Maybe because it is a crime here. Half of Blackwater is convicted felons? Interesting…. Source? When Federal agents and law enforcement is made aware of a felony (felon in possession) are they allowed to let him go? I wasn’t as a Police Officer, but maybe they do things differently in Atlanta.

Airports don’t have crystal balls. He didn’t have any systems until four days after he arrived here. I doubt he was the first and I doubt he will be the last.
-
Was he arrested? If he was a convicted felon how did he get a security position at the CDC high enough to get him in the elevator with the President? Story sounds sketchy.

I’m pretty vocal that I believe business owners have the right to do whatever they want. I kinda figured that there was already a SCOTUS decision on refusing service based on religion, but I can’t really find one that pertains to this situation. (There are Abortion and Gay rulings based on religious beliefs, but not on refusing service based on another person’s religion… that I can find) There are a lot of references to states having laws addressing this. Does anyone know if Tennessee has laws on refusing service based on religion?

Hope this ammo is good; I just ordered two cases of 40S&W. Do they ship out pretty quick? Thanks for the post. -
I saw some dude open carrying today.
DaveTN replied to K191145's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Guess it boils down to how it became an issue. That may be true if he is a Village Post Office, but the USPS is part of the Federal government and their employees are federal employees. -
Harwell/Ramsey Grand jury indictment?
DaveTN replied to thundersnow's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How are people on the commission selected? Were there qualified women that wanted to be on the commission? How would the interests of the public be served by indicting the Lt. Governor and the Speaker? -
As I hover over a page a members profile will pop-up if my mouse is over it. I have wondered if it shows as me viewing their profile?

Handgun carry is ruining my pants
DaveTN replied to walton6467's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Radius the corners of whatever on the Sig is cutting through your pants. There are a lot of closed holsters that don’t cost a bunch. Put duct tape the inside of your pants where it is cutting through; duct tape fixes anything. -
I bought a 12 foot Haulmark Lowhauler. All the dealers around here put a $1000 premium on it because they were hard to get. Haulmark called me a couple of times about whether or not I had found one. I told them I hadn’t found one that wasn’t marked up. They gave me the name of a dealer outside the gates of the company in Indiana. (I was going to be in the area) I called them and got a really good deal; they had several in stock and ask when I wanted to pick it up. I gave them a date and asked what they needed to hold it. They said “Nothing, just be here on that day; it will be readyâ€. I drove in, it was ready with the options I ordered, they hooked it up and I left. While paying for it I told them I was tax exempt because I would be taxed when I got tags in Tennessee. They said “that’s fine†and did a tax exempt sale. When I got it back here I found out I don’t need tags; so I didn’t buy them. Over a year later I got a letter from the state of Tennessee saying I owed sales tax and penalties. I paid it. That was over 12 years ago and I have pulled that trailer all over the country, no tag, and never been stopped. If I am, the trailer doesn’t require a tag in Tennessee, the ticket would not hold up in court; I’m not bound by their laws. But having a tag might save you the hassle of dealing with a cop that doesn’t know that.

Where did this “document†come from? It doesn’t read like an FBI document, has misspellings and is full of It reads like it was written by someone that desperately wants people to believe his 9mm is as good a weapon as their .40S&W’s. Sorry, dude you still have a 9mm; but maybe you can find someone to give you a hug. You guys know don’t you that you don’t need the approval of everyone else; the only people that matter are you and those you are protecting.

I‘m surprised it got out of the possession of the state. The Federal government seized ownership of the Kennedy rifle. I think it will probably bring a lot more than $25K with the documentation it appears to have.

If a Costco employee ask to see his receipt and when he refused the Costco employee beat his azz; I doubt you would be reading about it here because it wouldn’t be going to court. I’m always nice to the security guys at Best Buy; I bet they get tired of elitist azzhats that think they are entitled and they shouldn’t have to answer to anyone. The thieves have to love the fact that most stores have a “let them go†policy. I hate that we have to pay for it.

The guy was insight of agents, wasn’t armed, and was detained. He was not an immediate threat; had he became one I’m sure he would have been shot. I’m also sure had he been shot on the lawn, the same people that question why he wasn’t shot would be calling him an overzealous citizen and calling for the agents head.

Well, luckily we don’t live in the countries that have tried that. Oh wait… luck has nothing to do with it; it’s because that is not what our founding Fathers intended, and the American people would never stand for it. Our men and women have fought and died against those that tried because it is wrong. Set what kind of example? Firing him for what he did would almost guarantee him a new job; probably better than the one he had. Christians won’t let someone suffer because they suggested prayer. The ones that would try to fire him should be the ones out in the cold… and would be.
