  1. Like anything else there are a lot of places that do TiN coating (and other types). Some of the concerns are the temperatures used in the process. The TiN is not inside the barrel, so the wear resistance is for the outside. So if you shoot enough for wear to be an issue on the outside of the barrel; it will still be shot out. Barrel replacement seems like a better deal to me should you ever shoot it enough for wear to be an issue; regardless of what treatment you go with. Cleaning the outside of my barrels is pretty easy, so I don’t think ease of cleaning would justify it. I’m not big on painting guns; but if I wanted to do something to a BCG; I would try Cerakote Micro slick.
  2. Do you have an insurance quote? 300 yards from houses? What makes you think they won’t have you shut down as soon as they find out? What direction are those pistol bays shooting? I’d say your two biggest problems are proximity to neighbors and the fact that two 100 yard rifle ranges won’t bring you much business unless there is nothing else in your area. You seem to be implying that because there are no sound ordinances; civil action is the only recourse against you. Do you know that to be fact? I’m not trying to be negative; I assume you are looking for potential problems?
  3. Not according to the attorneys in this article. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2015/02/18/flintlock-from-1700s-could-land-elderly-nj-man-in-prison/
  4. If you argue that all have the same rights then violent or non-violent isn’t an issue. John Hinckley’s lawyers are arguing he is no longer a danger to himself or others so he can go live with his mother. Maybe he should have gun rights. He has already proven that he is willing to shoot multiple people. But hey, a lot of years have passed and he hasn’t shot anyone else. There is already a system in place for convicted felons to get their gun rights back. Some states, like Tennessee refuse to give them back to some. Actions have consequences. If you want to keep your gun rights; don’t commit felonies. If you want your rights back you should have to petition the court where you were convicted and let them decide. Our state does not recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right for those of us that are not convicted criminals. To argue criminals have that right is preposterous.
  5. Since it’s just for you, I don’t think zoning would be an issue; but I don’t know that for sure. I would call and have a talk with a Command Officer of the LE agency that would respond to a complaint. I’m sure if someone complains (5 acres isn’t that big) you could have a problem.
  6. If they live there it is open to the Probation Officers; they don’t need PC or RAS when you are on probation. If they don’t live there the Probation Officers can go there, but if the owners (that aren’t on probation or Parole) refuse to allow them in; they can make the place off limits and violate them if they go back. If someone that was willing to make a complaint sees a felon in possession on the property; it would be pretty easy to get a warrant. But that would take someone that knows the person. Anyone know where the one in Shelbyville is supposed to be?
  7. Is it shady? Yes. But your son should learn at an early age; life isn’t fair. The people it went to were customers also. But I probably wouldn’t be so nonchalant about it if I found out it went to one of those dirt bag resellers.
  8. Well...she got a break. She was charged with misdemeanor Domestic Violence when what she did (accused) was aggravated assault (I would assume a felony in SC).
  9. Obviously he is a 72 year old teacher. It’s just me; anytime someone starts a conversation about a gun on a traffic stop my first question is “How did the gun become an issue?” I’d ask the Pope the same question.
  10. I want to know why they were searching his car. I want to know "The rest of the story".

I’d add a little from your mad money and buy both new. But I’d go with the M&P instead of the Glock; you can thank me later. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/50014/S%26W+M%26P45+10%2B1+45ACP+4.5" http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/93809/Smith+%26+Wesson+M%26P+Bodyguard+380+Crimson+Trace+Pistol But I'd also skip the .380 all together and go with the Shield in .40S&W. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/82837/S%26W+M%26P40+Shield+6%2B17%2B1+40S%26W+3.1"
  12. There is a Model 39 on GB that says it’s an original steel frame; it’s in Gallatin.
  13. No snow in the Boro. I’ll be going to work unless something changes in the next couple of hours.
  14. $500... You can't fix stupid.

    Real Snow

This is crazy. WSMV says 3-5 inches by Monday evening. Weather.com says less than 1 inch. That’s a big difference for this area, 1 inch won’t do much; 5 inches will shut this area down.
  16. I find it interesting that there is no mention of the bombs of august 1945 or the Japanese surrender.
  17. These links should work: http://cdn.knightlab.com/libs/timeline/latest/embed/index.html?source=0Ao0pVh19xaPCdHM0QVlibkxNai1tU3pFU2JqakZCMXc&font=Bevan-PotanoSans&maptype=toner&lang=en&start_at_slide=20&start_zoom_adjust=7&height=650 https://plus.google.com/photos/118054804164766554034/albums/5224100744655078817
  18. M&P of course. But you will need to either save up more money quick or get a second job; you will want more. I have 5 now and still have 2 to go.
  19. I had three six inch Colt Pythons. They were absolutely beautiful. I don’t know they would do them justice today. I also had two 68 Camaro’s; how were we supposed to know?
  20. It removes 7(*b*) the “defense to prosecution” and creates a new section making it “an exception to the application”. It also changes “validly registered to the person under federal law in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Records. A person who acquires or possesses a firearm registered as required by this subdivision (*b*)(7) shall retain proof of registration.” To “is in full compliance with the requirements of the National Firearms Act, codified in 26 U.S.C., Sections 5841-5862”. As far as being charged with an NFA item; this changes things, but I doubt anyone has been charged that was in compliance and told the cops that. There may be an answer to the requirement to show proof in the Federal law quoted; I don’t know, I haven’t read it.
  21. Yes, but he’s saying it because he can’t get what he wants. Usually when an elected officials says they can’t do their job; a replacement is found. Maybe it will be different for him.
  22. It would be great if there was a handbook of what you can and can’t do; but there isn’t because of words like “immediate” “great bodily harm” and the main one “a reasonable person”. All you need to do is to look at many of the cases we have discussed here or have been in the news. People that seemed to be defending themselves have gone to prison; people that committed murder have walked free. We can look at any one specific case and determine why it went to court and why the outcome was what it was. But you can’t really generalize. I have a plan for myself that I think will keep me out of court in all 50 states should I have the need to shoot someone. I also won’t get in an altercation while I am armed. If I do; I am willing to take an azz whipping before I pull a gun. If I get hurt; so be it, I shouldn’t have been being a dumbazz. If I am attacked without provocation; that’s a whole different story. Not only do you have responsibility to protect your family; you have a responsibility to stay out of prison and not leave them to fin for themselves because you either misjudged the situation or just did something ignorant. We live in times where people are rioting over criminals that were either attacking cops or pointing guns at them and being killed by the cops. If you are a HCP holder the dirtbags and liberals will come after you the same as they do with the cops. If you don’t believe that I hope you never have to find out.
  23. In 9mm it doesn’t get much better than that.
  24. Working as a cop or even going on ride alongs or working as an auxiliary Officer will change any of the cop haters views. I am surprised that Quanell X was honest; I don’t know who the other guy is.
  25. It’s wide open. I think it depends more in your involvement than your physical condition. If you are a willful participate in an argument or a road rage situation and then find yourself getting your azz beat you probably won’t get much sympathy from the Police Officers, DA, and then Judge or jury. Pulling a gun is not the use of deadly force. Threatening someone with it without justification is aggravated assault. If the Police and DA believes you were justified; it’s a non-issue. If they think you were threatening someone without cause; you go to jail and then trial.
