  1. You sound like you are saying you are moving the sled; not the scope adjustment. After you adjust the sled and look through the scope does it reflect the change on the target? The sled is just a stabilizing platform and helps reduce recoil; is it moving when you fire?
  2. I don't think you can beat the beat the rubber Hogues for the range or field. $27; probably find for less if you look. http://www.hogueinc.com/store/categories/k-and-l-frame-square-butt/88 For wood I like the Ahrends, but I wouldn't use them for carry in the field. http://www.ahrendsgripsusa.com/retro.htm
  3. No I’m not. I was looking at packages that include: https://www.primesport.com/Brickyard400/home •Two (2) nights' accommodation at the Hyatt Indianapolis Downtown Check in Saturday, July 25th Check out Monday, July 27th Extra nights available •Paddock ticket to the Brickyard 400 (Row 15 or higher) •Roundtrip deluxe motorcoach transfers with police escort to Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday •Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum Pass •Official souvenir race program •Souvenir lanyard, ticket holder, and credential •Professional event staff on site to assist •All taxes and gratuities It’s $1130 for two people. The included tickets are $92 each. I can buy Penthouse E tickets in the first turn for $159 each and my wife said rooms were available downtown for around $190 a night. That’s $700 or $430 less with better seats and I would just need transportation to and from the track. Of course it wouldn’t be a Police escort.
  4. I think that’s a pretty accurate assessment of the M-16 or any battle rifle. The AR-15 is just a neutered version. The 5.56 NATO is a terrible battle round and even worse hunting round. I own that type of rifle in .22, .223, and .308.
  5. I’m thinking about going to either the Indy 500 or The Brickyard 400. The price of hotel/ticket packages is really high and includes stuff I don’t want (like the museum). I haven’t been there in years. I’m looking for a nice hotel ($150-$250 a night) that either has a bar and Restaurant in the hotel or one next door. Somewhere that might have transportation available to and from the race. (I want to drink during the day; so I can’t drive) Any recommendations from the folks that know the area?
  6. Glocks will be collector items someday. There just won’t be anyone admiring them and saying “These were made back when quality was king.”
  7. It’s been polished. It’s hard to tell from those pics but it looks like it has scratches on the right side; might just be the lighting. Other than that it appears to be in excellent condition. I would say if it was put up here it would bring $500 in a day, $600 in a few days, $700 if it was a 2.5” One of the best firearms ever made.
  8. As others have said; have your insurance company handle it. If you have a good insurance company it will be painless and they will take care of it. You might be able to get diminished value; ask. But you will probably need your agent or an attorney to do it for you. You have already paid your agent for that task. Maybe one of the Tennessee cops here can fill you in, but in the state I was in we (cops) didn’t determine fault; insurance companies and civil courts did that. We just determined if there was a violation of the vehicle code. Another reason you might need your agent involved.
  9. Tennessee does not recognize your individual 2nd amendment rights. If you want to carry you will have to join a group with “Special Privileges” you will also pay a tax for that. Are the rights/gun laws better in California? Welcome.
  10. It’s hard to find a Belgium Browning Hi Power. I haven’t owned a 9mm in many years and I don’t buy foreign guns, but I would like to have my Hi-Power back. I’m not impressed with the fit and finish of the ones I see today.
  11. Another vote for a nice double action revolver. Smith & Wesson has many options, but the nicest that you can get at a reasonable price will be the 686. New or old they are hard to beat. They are a far better range/target gun that any Tupperware gun, (I own many Tupperware guns and they are what I mainly carry) and the triggers can be made as smooth as glass.

Federal ammo isn’t the logical conclusion for me. What’s the barrel length of the Rossi? Define “all over the place”. How many rounds did you shoot of each to make this comparison? At 7 yards POI shouldn’t change much regardless of ammo. If it’s not just lousy shooting on your part I would check the gun out or have someone check it out. I would be concerned about Timing, something loose, or barrel damage. If you are having issues at 7 yards you could have a problem that could get you or someone else hurt.

  15. So who has the purdiest mittens on TGO?
  16. The way I read it (Federal Law); it would be an unlawful act. You also would be bound by the laws of the state you are in regardless of the state of residency of the buyer or seller.
  17. It’s disgusting that Veterans can’t get the medical care they need, but now it’s a big deal because he lied about being Special Forces. Man our priorities are screwed up.
  18. Years ago I switched from Firestone and Goodyear to Coopers. Their ride and performance is as good as those costing much more. My last set I bought at Sears; they ran a sale that was less than the discount tire stores.
  19. It says be completed Rangers school, did he not become a Ranger? Is a Ranger not SF? Sorry, I don’t know about the Army. But I just read a story that said Seals aren’t SF.
  20. I suspect it’s a way for the insurance companies to charge more; like with smokers. However they don’t want anyone to know that because unlike with smokers; the courts will ultimately stop it.
  21. I bought the Hero 4 Silver. I’m happy with it.
  22. It won’t feed ball ort HP’s; what do you like about it? Instead of messing around trying to find mags and ammo that will work; I would take it back to the dealer and get something different before you are stuck with it.

Their website says you must buy ammo for rentals from them at time of rental.
  24. "No current threat or ongoing danger." I wonder how they know that if the shooter fled on foot? http://news.vanderbilt.edu/2015/02/alertvu-shooting-reported-at-wesley-place-garage/
  25. Somehow guns on campus will be to blame. Some reporters are saying they are looking for that truck; others say the truck is there and the owner fled. Apparently the whole incident including the shooting is on video. http://www.wsmv.com/story/28169467/man-shot-inside-vanderbilt-university-parking-garage
