- Second Amendment Attorney Recommendation(s) ...
DaveTN replied to Zeke311's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I’ve been through it. But I question that you weren’t arrested. Otherwise where is the info coming from? They don’t have people in the data bases that were merely held without being charged. If you were arrested and the charges were dropped the most likely scenario is that the arrest does not show a disposition. You don’t need an attorney to fix that. Contact the Circuit Clerk or Clerk of the Court where it happened and see what they can do to help. -
It asks: Have you been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions? And the PDF I looked at on ATF.gov had dishonorable in bold.
-
The federal law (Gun Control Act of 1968) specifically states “who has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions”. Most people with problems would get a General, “Other than Honorable”, or a “Bad Conduct Discharge”. A dishonorable discharge requires a General Court Martial and is generally for the most serious offenses. I don’t know if there is case law on it; but the wording of the law seems to only ban those with a dishonorable discharge.

It’s great to see American Auto companies flexing their muscles again. The Charger Hellcat is just pure bad azz; most powerful production sedan in the world today. Now if I could just get the wife onboard with spending $70K on a daily driver.

The Magic “Whiskers” were pretty hard to find when they first came out, but Blade HQ has them in stock for $200. I’d like to try one because it appears you wouldn’t need a safety or have to worry about the button getting pushed in your pocket if you didn’t use one. But I can’t justify $200 for a knife; I guess I’m just not a knife person. (But I’m working on it).

Great; what are you eating?

It’s not a collector and you don’t have anything in it. Time to learn. If you have any mechanical abilities all it’s really easy. There are some common sense things you need to be carefully of; but a model 15 is a workhorse. Buy the Video “Trigger Job” by Jerry Miculek. Even if you don’t do the trigger job it shows you how to strip that gun down totally. Any questions you have can be answered here. Besides that you can’t call yourself a firearm enthusiast if you are afraid to take the side plate off a Smith & Wesson. I’d use this opportunity that has been dumped in your lap as a learning experience.

Politicians can create jobs by working with businesses to give them incentive. We can create jobs and a better economy by supporting companies that manufacture products in this country. No, carjackers and gas station robbers aren’t looking for work. But if kids are raised in a family that works and has a better life; they may have some work ethic instilled in them and not become criminals. Nothing wrong with giving big employers all the tax breaks and incentives it takes to get them into your area.

You probably won’t carry it, so why a 3”? If you want a range/competition revolver I would go 4” (or possibly 6"). There are plenty of pre-lock 686’s available. There are also 19’s and 66’s available. If I could find a mint pre-lock I would buy it, but I wouldn’t take a used pre-lock over a new 686; especially if I was going to use it as a target revolver or for home protection. The lock is a non-issue for anything other than collectability. And even then you will see guns with locks selling for as much as those without. A 686 is not a collector’s item in the gun world. There are thousands of grips made for K/L frame; any size and shape you like. I shot in pistol competitions for years with revolvers and it boils down to personal preference; mine is for Smith & Wesson. I own handguns of all types, but my nightstand gun is a 686. The bottom line is this. If you line up shooters at 25 yards one with a K frame, one with an L frame, one with a Ruger, and one with a Python, all in 4”; the deciding factor will be the shooter, not the gun.

Close the revolving door at the courthouse. One of those doors needs to lead to prison. You point a gun at someone during a robbery and you should get a bunch of years; first time. And if you shoot someone you never get out. Untie the cop’s hands. Tell them to take down the gangs and stand back and watch. Less “Special Units” and more uniformed cops on the street. Uniformed cops in marked squads are a proven deterrent. When you see a crime or a suspicious person; make the call. In populated areas cops get sent from one BS call to the next. Most of the time they don’t have the time to be proactive; they are reactive. They depend of the community to be their eyes and ears. I’ve seen a lot of bad people take a fall because a citizen witness was feeding information to a dispatcher while the Officers were responding. But most importantly...jobs. Jobs and the economy should be the first questions you should ask anyone that is running for office. And then look in the mirror and ask the same. Jobs won’t stop crime; but they will put a bigger dent in it than anything I can think of. As our economy worsens more Police and Fire will be needed; and they will be added. If you are a property owner you will foot the bill with increased property taxes. There will be new or higher taxes for the rest of you. We The People did this and We The People will have to get us out of it.

Are these nut cases so ignorant they think they are helping? We don’t need that kind of help.

It’s illegal to carry high quality revolvers in Kydex. Well okay maybe it's not... but it should be http://www.desantisholster.com/THUMB-BREAK-SCABBARD http://www.gouldusa.com/products/showModel.php?id_main=96

It failed in March but apparently was revived last month. http://www.local8now.com/home/headlines/Bill-to-do-away-with-Tennessee-helmet-requirement-revived---299114141.html?device=phone&c=y

You mean like getting a Patriot arrested for stepping in and stopping them, or giving the race baiters something to whine about? Yes… http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/04/20/playboy-posing-veteran-in-flag-scuffle-sets-off-debate-over-everything/

If you are justified in the use of deadly force unlawful possessions charges won’t apply in Tennessee.

Sheriff's employees may have profited during ammo shortage

Search warrants and FBI... Looks like the Sherriff may have problems. http://www.murfreesboropost.com/tbi-fbi-raid-sheriffs-office-arnolds-home-cms-42144 -
Left lane drivers obstructing traffic are my pet peeve. In the state I was in it was a violation and I wrote it many times. I believe people obstructing traffic cause more accidents than speeders. It’s a violation in Tennessee also. So...if you are stacking cars up behind you; move to the right, and use a turn signal as you get out of everyone’s way. Think how much friendlier and safer the world would be if people used common sense and courtesy while driving.

Really? You want to hide behind a code of conduct? I’m not a moderator, don’t like to see threads locked, and didn’t sleep at a Holiday Inn last night, but I’m pretty sure that reopening a topic that has been locked and calling someone a mental case because you don’t like their comments is also a violation. This didn’t turn into a cop bashing thread as you hoped, but went another direction. There are more Patriots here than cops so good luck with the results. You reopened this topic for drama; you got it. I don’t think anyone has said anything yet to require the locking of this thread. As David once said he tends to let people look like fools rather than close a thread; that is what is happening right now.

I can do with my hands what a Taser could do (stop the attack), if I couldn’t they would probably take the Taser and use it on me. I’ll take an azz whipping before I pull a gun over people fighting. (I just don’t buy into the “They could die” nonsense and neither would most juries.) If I were being threatened by thugs that were truly a threat I have no problem with pulling a gun; shooting them would depend on their actions. I have never been tasered or tasered anyone. But I have used mace more times than I can count. I have had grown bad azz men sit down and cry, and I have had them act like I was spraying water on them. To me it’s a tool for dog attacks. Nothing wrong with going through these scenarios in your mind; everyone should do it, especially if they are carrying a gun. Every scenario must be very specific though; otherwise there are too many options. Protecting yourself and your family includes staying out of prison or financially devastating your family.
-
You can, you are a cop; I can’t. I’m trying to think of a situation where it would be okay to taser someone and they died, but I was not justified in pulling or using a gun. I can’t think of any, but maybe I’m not thinking hard enough?

An Interesting Question. What If...
DaveTN replied to WindHawk's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You have no position on these questions? Well… it would be a stupid stand for them to take. A lot would depend on how much the press reported it and how they spun it. Of course some people would be upset, there would probably be violence. It would be a small group. Why would they want The Reconquista and have what they have in Mexico, when they are doing a great job of taking the Southwest back with us footing the bill. If they turn it into a weapons intimidations issue; they will lose or be gone. -
Tasers have caused deaths. Police have qualified immunity; you don’t. When do you think you would be justified in using a taser that you couldn’t use a gun, or wouldn’t be justified in firing a warning shot prior to killing someone?
