  1. What? The military needs to do something to improve the 9mm? Say it ain’t so Joe, say it ain’t so!
  2. You don’t have a solid answer for DUI. .08 is a presumption of impairment. You can be convicted of DUI below that amount in most states (I assume Tennessee is that way, but I don’t know that.). The state doesn’t tell you that you are okay to drive at .07. If pressed to attach a number to drinking and carrying a gun; I’m sure you can guess what it would be. Reasonable evidence would be the cop testifying in court that in his opinion you were under the influence of alcohol. Too impaired to drive would have nothing to do with it, unless of course he was also arresting you for that after you blow to show him you don’t have a BAC above .08%. You or your attorney would of course argue you weren’t under the influence and based on the testimony in front of him the Judge would decide if you were in violation of the law or not.
  3. Not sure why it would be any different than leather, maybe this will help? http://www.tandyleather.com/en-usd/Setting-Snap-Fasteners.aspx This guy says he just used Chicago screws to attach. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiUwcM-6kw8
  4. That may be, but we can change that. How many people that would call themselves Patriots or say they love their country; did not vote in the elections? The vote is more powerful than any gun you own. But once Obama or Hillary gives the vote to those that are now illegals; that option is done. I believe Obama will try that before he leaves office; he is trying everything he can to destroy this country.
  5. The law doesn’t have a BAC requirement. Most people don’t know what their BAC is. Are you going to blow? If you blow a .08 or above its DUI, if its below you can still be charged with Possession of handgun while under influence. There is no requirement for impairment.
  6. Patriots are a special breed. There are still a lot but unfortunately being a loud mouth always whining about something is more popular. Their numbers are BS. People aren’t going to leave this country. I’m frustrated with people like Obama also; but I’m not going to let him or those threatening an overthrow change how I feel about my county, or cause me to leave. We have a system for change in place and that’s how it will work.

  8. I haven’t bought a used gun in a long time; prices are too high as compared to new. Unless it’s something special that I can’t find I wouldn’t need to travel. As a seller if you have a good price or something hard too find; you don't need to travel. When I was trading in used guns a lot I would drive maybe 50 miles as a buyer. As a seller I wouldn’t travel; too many people don’t show up.
  9. I’m just remembering the parties I went to when I was young. If I’m having a party at my home with drinking; I don’t want an uptight non-drinking teetotaler that’s scared someone might mess with him carrying a gun. And I especially don’t want someone carrying at that party that is drinking. I don’t want to have to disarm a drunk; it’s dangerous for everyone. If someone feels that strongly that they need to be armed they should call the host of the party and tell them they are coming armed or they are not coming. Who knows they may tell you “Roll on!”. At my age now.... sadly this is no longer an issue. I miss the good ole days.
  10. As jobs are lost, cities, states and the Feds don’t decrease their budgets; they just raise taxes.
  11. Good for you. That should be a concern of most people; but it isn't.
  12. Carrying into someone’s home is a whole bunch different than carrying into their home while they are having a party where people are drinking. I wouldn’t do it. If you don’t feel comfortable; set up another time to meet her friends. Tennessee doesn’t require you to notify a homeowner, but some state do, one of the states to the South of us comes to mind.
  13. That's a good price since Buds has them listed at $558. Of course its still a Glock.
  14. Just like with DUI by the time many people find out; it’s too late someone is dead and they are on their way to prison.
  15. Depends on if the Officer thinks you are okay to be carrying and takes the responsibility of letting you drive off armed. A .05 -.07 BAC tied with whatever he observes that made him test you probably won’t end well for you.   Explain how you feel you can be found guilty of manslaughter in a “clear self-defense case”? I put that in the same category as those that worry about what kind of ammo they carry; its homicide and its justified or it’s not. Your level of intoxication will only be an issue if the Officers or the DA feel it’s not justified. Are you going to voluntarily submit to a BAC test after a shooting in the parking lot? I’m guessing when you call your attorney he will tell you “No, not unless you have had nothing to drink”. Unless the cops are pursuing a homicide case against you and get a warrant to take blood; how will anyone in a civil case know your BAC level? And if the cops are pursuing a case; unless you are very well off there probably won’t be much left to get in a civil case if you stay out of prison.   I won’t drive even after one beer; same with carrying a gun.
  16. You are mistaken. The rights of people under the 2nd amendment is infringed every day; it’s called States Rights. The Supreme Court again this month refused to weigh in on that issue.   If a Constitutional Convention is held and the 2nd amendment is changed or repealed; the SCOTUS doesn’t have jack to say about it. The Supreme Court will be almost totally changed in 10 years.

  18. Won't your phone do it?
  19. It doesn’t appear that’s its being marketed as a weapon light; looks a little big to me for that.
  20. It’s not the same at all. The persons who provide tools to the escaped convicts committed a crime. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t report people that say stupid things or make threats, but there isn’t whole lot law enforcement can do. There was a thread on here a long time ago where the Feds went to a house because a guy got on some social media and was trying to get someone to come pick him up so they could go out killing people. Many people were upset that the cops had no business going there, and felt in some way it was a violation. It was just good police work by those that cared, but there wasn’t much they could do. When you report a suspicious person the cops will go check it out, but without something of substance all they can do is talk to the person (sometimes that’s all it takes). Some people get really wound up about the cops stopping people that open carry. But what would happen if a Police dispatcher told a caller open carry was legal and there was nothing they could do and the guy walked into a mall a started dropping bodies? The same people whining about the cops stopping open carry folks would be saying the cops were called but did nothing. If this guy had been stopped before he acted and his weapons taken on a tip from his friend; there would be plenty of complaining about “gun control”. This whole flag thing coming up again, gun control; it’s ridiculous. We live in a dangerous world with plenty of nut cases just like this guy. So what’s to stop someone else from walking into a school and murdering children or walking into a church and killing people? Nothing, and it will happen again. I have said it before and I will say it again. The only way to stop an active shooter is with an active shooter. No one is to blame but the shooter. Not guns, not the battle flag, and not his friend. He will stand trial for his crimes and he will probably be executed. That is all that is going to happen.
  21. The crime rate is going down, but more people are getting shot. I don’t doubt that.
  22. You don’t have to be in a divorce. If the cops get called to your house on a domestic violence call an arrest is highly probable. Most cops don’t have discretion on DV; and they don’t need a complainant.
  23. Depends. Is that the Motherboard? Something in that area fried; there was a lot of heat. Do you have any testing tools and a soldering station? The reason people don’t trouble shoot at the board level anymore is that it takes too long. But if you are doing it for yourself; that isn’t a concern. As long as those are off the shelf components on the board you might be able to do it, but if they are Apple proprietary parts; you are hosed. I’m certainly no electronics repair tech, but last week my 65” TV would not come back on after a power outage. No big deal, it was 12 years old and ready for replacement. As I was shopping on-line for new TV’s my wife asks “Do you have a soldering station?” I said yes. Can you replace components on a circuit board? I said “If I know what they are; yes”. She found a YouTube video of the exact problem our TV had, it required the replacement of 7 capacitors on a board that I don’t even know (and didn’t care) what it did. I couldn’t find anyone that carried capacitors locally so I ordered the capacitors off Amazon. $7 for a bag of 20. I am no TV repairman and don’t play one on TV, but it worked. So maybe you could find an Apple or Mac forum (or maybe here) and see if anyone can ID what’s in that area and give you some direction.
  24. Other than family members; most can’t do anything until they commit a crime. I got dispatched one time to a “suspicious person, possible mental case”. When I arrived I talked with a guy that had been released from our local mental institution. He said he wasn’t mentally stable, but that they had kicked him out because his state funding ran out. He was afraid he was going to hurt someone. He wanted to go back and was willing to sign himself in. I had the dispatchers call and talk with the institution. They came back and told me that a Doctor would not definitively say that he was a danger; so the state said he had to go. I told him I could not take him back there and he had committed no crime; so continue on. He walked over and picked up a concrete block and threw it through the windshield of my squad. I said “That will do it.” I put him in my squad and ask Command where they wanted me to take him. They told me to take him back to the mental institution. Then they accepted him. What if instead of doing what he did, he figured out that if he stuck a knife in someone or shot some people he would be where he wanted to be? There are plenty of people looking out for the rights of criminals and those that are a danger; there are very few looking out for the rights of the innocent people that are about to come in contact with those people. That was not the intent of our Founding Fathers.
  25. I understand that, but they are making a bunch of noise about what they will do with a big settlement from the Brady Bunch. I’m not real familiar with civil law; can that happen when the complaint isn’t by them?
