  1. They only cost $200; many of us would have them if it was as simple as paying for one. They now check local zoning laws and have requirements that you are actively selling. I can’t have one in Murfreesboro in my home; I would have to have a business with a storefront. There are places that charge reasonable amounts. The places that have high charges don’t want your business. If the Feds want to require them they should be free. They can pay the FFL holders to process them, or make it part of the requirements for a license.
  2. He is Army National Guard, and it sounds as though he was open carrying his personal firearm. http://fox40.com/2015/09/29/waffle-house-refuses-to-serve-uniformed-soldier-carrying-gun/
  3. Probably hard to compete with a company that has been making the product for years, has tens of thousands in use, doesn’t have to pay licensing fees and has the manufacturing facilities already in place. Jobs for Americans in an American manufacturing facility, and an American gun company gets to stay alive; it’s a win for all of us.
  4. I would guess it would take a DA that wants a permit to test it. Of course then he would be under constant scrutiny and in that job it would just be a matter of time before they had cause to dismiss. Employers can ban employees from smoking cigarettes even at home on their off time. Maybe that’s because smoking isn’t a specified right?
  5. I don’t have access to search case law; where do you do it? I have no idea either if there are cases, but if things went south I sure wouldn’t want to rely on an “I’m not required to verify state of residency or age” defense. Any reasonable person should know enough to ask for ID at the very least. I know there are people that want to believe the exchange of money is all that needs to happen; but that just isn’t true. But I think the OP got that.
  6. Sorry for your loss. I have a nickel 36 like that; it is the only gun I have kept and carried for an extended period of time (37 years).
  7. From what “legal perspective” are you speaking that you don’t think you need to see ID? You think if a 17 year old from Alabama buys a handgun off you and then is arrested; a “I thought he looked old enough and he was in Tennessee” is going to keep you from getting cuffed and stuffed?
  8. I understand people not wanting guns to get into the hands of nut cases. However, if the government had any real concern about it they would have a solution that isn’t just letting an FFL charge whatever they want to do a transfer. As long as you don’t know the person is not allowed to purchase a firearm, and you get a signed bill of sale stating that he is legal to own, a resident of this state and shows proof of age; you have done all you can reasonably do. Gun stores sell guns to nut cases that can pass a background check and then they go on a shooting spree; so that possibility always exists when selling firearms.
  9. If illegals are given amnesty (I bet that will be citizenship) and allowed to vote; another Republican will never be elected. It is beyond me how anyone can’t see that people coming here illegally for our social welfare programs will run up a bill that we (Taxpayers) can’t pay.
  10. So what happened to the POS that was beating the blind kid? Did him and his friends standing around that did nothing to stop it go to jail? We should be celebrating that a bully that would beat a blind kid got his azz severely beat and is in jail. Not feeling good that the person that stopped this criminal wasn’t suspended from school.
  11. I don’t know, I don’t mess with any of that stuff; don’t need it. The ATF approved the PLR-16 as a handgun years ago. The only place I know of it has been an issue was in a case in Sumner County Tennessee. It was the aftermath of a drug deal. The DA tried to charge a guy on a weapons charge that had a PLR-16 in the car. My understanding is he ended up agreeing to sell the gun as part of a plea agreement to drop the weapons charge.
  12. Well no pistol collection would be complete without a PLR-16. It’s the only pistol I know of that has everything a SBR has but doesn’t require any tax stamps or permissions from the government and costs under $500.
  13. As has been stated there is nothing wrong with what you want to do; especially if you are paying the transfer fees. I fulfill my legal requirements by having the person show a TN ID and signing a bill of sale and keeping it. If someone won’t sign a bill of sale and show ID; I’m not selling them a firearm. The only way I would buy from someone with that requirement would be if it’s something really hard to find or a great price.
  14. Remington is making big moves. They have the Huntsville facility running and have added onto the Kentucky facility. Good to see.
  15. So whoever wants to file this lawsuit didn’t try to have anyone that was carrying enter?
  16. For a primary carry; none. If I didn't have the money for a S&W or a Ruger it would be Charter Arms. I haven't seen or held a $200 Rock Island revolver but I'm guessing its not near on par with a S&W or a Ruger. If you are looking at J frame sizes, that means its a belly gun, not a range gun. Your life may depend on it; go with the proven performers.
  17. There are Model 39's with steel frames. And they are worth a bunch.
  18. I’m not sure I understand what happened here? You hid stuff on your property and registered it somewhere or gave clues to someone playing a game? Someone came to your property. They were carrying big azz knives, but you recommend carrying a gun when you are out doing whatever it I these individuals are doing. Instead of your first thought being these people were playing the game you are participating in, your first thoughts were to get a rifle, go outside and have your wife call 911. I have some questions but I’m not sure I understand what I am reading.
  19. Looks good. I have a question. If you have the ability to make a leather holster why would you want Kydex on it?
  20. Last I saw Isaac Richmond and his “Commission on religion and racism” was shown on video vandalizing the gravesite. For some reason MPD had to “decide” if a crime had been committed or not. A man from Lincoln County Tennessee drove to Memphis to repair the damage from the vandals. http://wreg.com/2015/07/23/man-drives-several-hours-to-fix-grass-next-to-nathan-bedford-forrests-statue-and-grave/ They were quick to react when this guy vandalized it. http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/story/29851187/man-charged-in-bedford-forrest-statue-vandalism-in-court-monday
  21. Is that you in the video?
  22. Any CCI Mini-Mag by chance?
  23. Because most of the race issues have been dealt with. The racists now need something to stay relevant about so they can travel around getting paid. When the Confederate flag is banned everywhere it will be something else. They can also travel from place to place where whitey (or the Police) has killed a minority while committing a crime. They can whine about that and try to get laws passed that will disarm citizens and limit the use of force by cops.
  24. This has come up several times here. It happened to me, I just copied and pasted my response from another thread. .... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/85044-tics-denial/?hl=denied#entry1231795 The common cause seems to be an arrest that doesn’t show a disposition somewhere. I was arrested for having a gun in my car in Illinois many years ago. The charges were dismissed. I purchased guns in several states over many years before making purchases in Tennessee. Of my first several purchases here I was refused twice. Both were appealed and went through in two days. The first time I thought it was just a mistake; because it was approved so quickly. I called the TBI and the woman told me she couldn’t tell me why I was refused. The second time it happened (not the next purchase) I called the TBI again. The woman told me it was because something Illinois was reporting, but she wasn’t allowed to say what it was on the phone. I told her of the arrest, that it was dismissed, and even if it wasn’t it was a non-disqualifying misdemeanor. She replied with “We don’t know that.” I said, “You don’t know it’s a misdemeanor?” she said “No, we know it’s a misdemeanor, but it could be a felony in Tennessee”. She said that when checking on the appeal they found I was okay. She couldn’t tell me why it went through okay on other purchases. My daughter is a Probation Officer in Illinois and her boyfriend was an Illinois State Trooper. He checked and said Illinois didn’t report anything to them other than a speeding ticket. That led to think it was the FBI database. They wanted $25 for a background check. It was $30 for a C&R license and I knew it would show up there if there was a problem. It did. The BATF sent me a letter I needed documentation on the disposition of the charge before they could proceed. I talked to the person handling it and he said the gun charge was not reported by Illinois, but was showing up in the FBI check with no disposition. My daughter went to the Circuit Clerks office to get the documentation. The woman gave it to her and gave her a second copy; she said it has happened to her husband a couple of time and might happen again. She said she would resubmit the disposition to the Feds and that may fix the problem. It seems to have fixed the problem. She did that, and I submitted it to the Feds and got my C&R; no problems since.
  25. Yes, but I don’t have a 9MM.
