  1. okay, description
  2. Maybe, but no one would prosecute her for stolen valor. If anyone needs to call the Police; it’s the family. If her or the kid ends up dead there will be a lot of hand wringing and blaming everyone else. Sorry, but the only people that get anything done is the family. If the woman is the danger everyone claims she is; they need to step up.
  3. Because people drink and drive and so do their kids, legislators included. They don’t think they are murderers. But public outrage is growing; soon this won’t be accepted as a “terrible mistake” it will prosecuted as murder.
  4. The first place I saw anything about it was on the news at 10 on WSMV last night. They told of both shootings are gave a deception of him and the vehicle.
  5. We're sorry, but the campaign URL you entered cannot be found. ??
  6. Should it turn out she was indeed drunk; this was no accident and she should be charged with murder.
  7. People with drug habits stole these guns in burglaries and then traded them to him for dope. That’s what people on drugs do. A drug dealer bites the dust. Hopefully between the drug charges and the gun charges he will never get out of prison. Good job by LE.
  8. So are most of us. The guy was then in a shootout with cops in Kentucky and escaped. No one was shot in Kentucky, the Algood Officer has been released and is in good condition. Sounds like this guy has made the decision he won’t he taken alive. Hopefully the next cop that stops him knows who he is.
  9. Just so you know, the M&P compact is not a single stack; the Shield is a single stack. Of course a .380 could ruin someone’s day; so could a .22. (.22’s have killed plenty of people) and if that is your goal you would accomplish it. My goal is something different. If I have to shoot someone it will probably be because they are threatening me with a weapon. I was trained to “stop the threat, make them unable or unwilling to fire their weapon at you.” I had a victim pull a .380 out of his stomach and hand it to me. He had been shot and was unphased; he tried to run the shooter down, but the shooter got away. (We picked him up a few minutes later). That’s not the only experience I have with .380, but it makes the point. 380 is worthless. As far as cost, does it cost much less than 9mm or 40 right now? The 9mm is a creme puff round as far as recoil I highly doubt your wife would have any trouble with it. My philosophy on guns is that I don’t become attached to them, they come and go. Try a bunch and don’t think you are making a $400 mistake. As long as you take care of them you can sell them for close or sometimes the same as what you paid. You will see plenty of guns in the classifieds that are at or above new price; people apparently buy them. That’s just my opinion but it’s allowed me to go through hundreds of guns over the years.
  10. I wouldn’t feel stupid if you are helping someone that needs it. It sounds as though she might have mental problems.
  11. That’s a pretty good skill set in an area that is loaded with medical facilities. Why does she say she doesn’t work?
  12. I have two honorable discharges; they are framed together and hanging on my wall. I would show those to anyone interested; but if they questioned my service and wanted to see my DD214 they could kiss my azz. This isn’t stolen valor; she is trying to get help for her and her kid. I don’t know how the military is now, but when I was in there is no way someone would have been discharged in three days; so I do not believe the source that came up with that story. Anyone that was in the military could have a discussion with her and tell if she was in the service. If that matters.
  13. Nah, they already knew that problem existed?
  14. I sometimes feel guilty because I won’t give to a cause I think is a scam; these days most are. But if you have met her and she needs help; is her military service really a factor? As has already been posted it’s pretty easy to verify what she says..... But only if she decides to show you the proof. Asking to see a DD214 is as close as you can get to calling her a liar without actually doing it.
  15. Funny seeing this right now. At 15 I got a drum set and started learning to play. At 16 I sold it to get my first car and pay for insurance. I am now 61 and have never sat behind a set of drums since. But all of a sudden I thought I wanted to do it again. The wife saw me looking at drum sets and said “Why are you looking at those?” I told her I’m thinking about getting a set of drums and learning to play. She ask me where I planned on putting them and I told her the living room. She gave me a dirty look and said the neighbors would hear them. I’m also a technology junkie and low and behold; the two met. I thought electronic practice drums would cost a lot, but I found a set for about $400 that has pretty good reviews. So now everyone I tell about my ideas says “You are too old”. Sounds like you might be under 40 though; good luck.
  16. My first thought was something other than lead or copper. But we all know the problem with lead and the cost of copper are problems that exist. Plus they would be late to the race for that. http://www.ruger.com/micros/ammo/index.html?r=y
  17. I must confess. I don’t buy foreign guns anymore and I haven’t owned a 9mm in over 25 years. But one of the last 9mm’s I had was a Belgium Browning Hi-Power in the 80’s. (don’t remember the mfg year) If I were going to buy a foreign gun; this would be it. I haven’t kept up on them, as far as where and who makes them now, but the examples I have seen lately are not on par with what we had back then.
  18. A solution to a problem they didn't know existed? I doubt "everything changes" but we will find out on Tuesday.
  19. According to this they have Shields in-stock for $301. Pretty hard for anyone wanting a Shield to beat that price. I’m not into .380’s but for those who are $241 for a S&W Bodyguard is a pretty good price also. (Although it says you have to check for availability) http://www.kingsfirearmsandmore.com/ I've never been there though; don't know anything about them.
  20. Well, it seems you have already made the decision to sell. Of course if the price is wrong; the problem of whether or not to sell will take care of itself. You will have to find a very special buyer to pay that much for that vehicle. Banks won’t finance that; so they need to have cash. (And not care about MPG) You need to go to some of the collector sites. Here is an idea of what you are up against. https://www.facebook.com/78-79-Ford-Broncos-Mostly-For-Sale-641729919264832/
  21. I see no point in shaking up or changing the system because someone wants to pull a scam; I would deal with them and move on.
  22. I agree I proudly support and respect our first responders. The media has turned on them, criminals openly threaten them, and many are quick to judge without looking at, or caring about facts. I hope they know most of us support them and appreciate them.
  23. My Boarding Party weapon was an M79 with anti-personnel rounds. (In case we needed to shoot everyone on the ship at once) But they do have a use in less lethal situations.... Jails, Riots. I thought the bayonets were funny. I bet someone ordered them knowing no one would want them and they have been sold on GB. Good luck getting those back Obama.
  24. No, you should ban them. If I understand what you are saying, they know they need to be a benefactor to sell something. So they place the item for sale and then later dispute the charge? Who wants to buy and sell guns with people like that; ban them and call it a day. I’m generally against banning people over BS; buts that’s just plain criminal. You could post who they are though for the entertainment value or in case they sell other places. A lot of us have been benefactors a long time and rarely sell anything.
  25. FTFY oops, just noticed this was resurrected from a couple years ago.
