  1. A lot of old azz EOtech's will be going back. I don’t want to send mine in, but if I did I would be concerned that they might go belly up before I was paid. Good luck getting anything then. The value of used EOtech's will take a big hit when they stop giving refunds.
  2. 60 cell phones being bought by foreign speaking Muslims....uh yes, I would call Homeland Security. Or I guess I could wait until the bombs started going off.
  3. No, and I don’t like IWB holster either; but I do like to stay concealed. My reasons for wanting to stay concealed have nothing to do with what people think; it’s the way I was trained and my experience. I’ve never been ask if I was carrying, but depending on who it was I wouldn’t have a problem with answering honestly.
  4. All shooting deaths are homicides. If you shoot an armed robber that has a gun in your face and is pulling the trigger; it goes in the homicide column.
  5. Yes, I believe in God and am a Christian. So by definition I’m not an infidel to anyone but them. They don’t count.
  6. Good post. I’m not a Redneck or an infidel; but I’m damn sure a Patriot. Not only does our citizenry need to be outspoken; they need to step up. We caused this mess and “The People” is the only ones that can get us out of it.
  7. Most of us that own Smith & Wesson's are.
  8. I have never heard of them, but comments and reviews on their Facebook page don't look good. https://www.facebook.com/AresArmor/
  9. Your money isn’t going to them if it’s a tax break. If I were a Governor/Mayor I would give all the tax breaks I could swing to any corporation I could get to move to my state/City. With those corporations moving away; we will all be poor.
  10. I’m not concerned with someone breaking into my vehicle, and feel absolutely no responsibility for someone committing the criminal act of doing so. Having said that though I do feel a responsibility to not be reckless. I have left work a couple of times and my trunk warning light has been on. My keyless entry has too much range. That is where I would store it. I know I could disable it; but that would reduce access time. I wish there was a way to limit it to within a few feet of the vehicle. My weapon of choice would be a scoped 308 AR. If it was stolen; so be it, but the chance of that would be pretty slim, unless of course my trunk popped open. I would guess my insurance would pay for it; but who knows.
  11. No, they did their part; I failed mine.
  12. Get out, pop the trunk; use the vehicle for cover and a shooting platform. I’ve thought about ways to secure a rifle, but haven’t done it yet.   I thought about that also. I come home and find my door standing open, I’m calling 911, but if armed burglars try to make an exit I want the advantage of cover (my garage) and a long gun. I don't carry all the time, and refuse to live my life in fear of needing a gun all the time. But when its a simple option; why not?
  13. My C&R renewal form says “Renewal application DUE PRIOR TO: December 1, 2015.” Obviously I missed that. What happens if I fill it out and send it in?
  14. That’s my point. The workplace shooting I’m vaguely remembering would cause anyone with common sense to know the body count would have been high. I think the other qualifiers they state are “In America” and “Not LEO’s”. Because there are rumors that two of the Paris shooters were killed by citizens in a restaurant. But that hasn’t been confirmed and is rumored they don’t count because they were Columbian drug dealers and were carrying illegally. I also remember a shooter being engaged by an off duty cop. I guess he couldn’t count because an off duty cop is so much different than an off duty machinist or carpenter. I think there are probably a lot of actual situations where a citizen stopped a shooter. But of course they don’t make the national news. We need actual cases to remove their nonsense qualifiers. But yes, I guess if you put enough qualifiers on anything you can make it fit your requirements.
  15. For the last few days all the news networks have been having people on that say the “good guys with guns” have never stopped a mass shooting. A mass shooting being defined as four or more people shot (I think that's what they said). I’m thinking....what a load of crap. No armed citizen has ever stopped a potential shooter anywhere? Didn’t I see not too long ago a workplace shooter shot at some exec and the exec pulled a gun and killed him? I guess if you have to wait for four deaths what they are saying may possibly be true; but at face value I can’t believe there aren’t many cases of an armed citizen stopping a shooter. We need someone on our side with the facts to produce!
  16. Stay away from mud puddles.
  17. A workplace shooting. I’m seconds from my vehicle at work. The chances of me being able to get out might be slim, but if I could I would reenter and engage a shooter. A shooting in traffic. I would like to have a weapon that I could take out a shooter at a greater distance. The roadway shooting of the Officers in West Memphis comes to mind. If I drove into something like that I would like to be able to do something other than face an AK with a handgun. I fully understand I could be mistaken for a bad guy, but that’s a situation I would have to deal with. I don’t have one in the car right now because I don’t have a good way to secure it.
  18. So....Christie supported an AWB, but thinks people who have court mental health records expunged should be able to get permits? Am I understanding this correctly?
  19. It was just an offhand comment Mike; I don’t want to see anyone shot. But if someone jumped out of their vehicle on me like that while I was minding my own business, I would have drawn my weapon and the rest would have been up to him. The only reason we know he wasn’t a threat is because we know how it ended.   Then I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have a badge; I do however have a gun. So you believe because they used an EBT card at checkout a verbal assault and a robbery is justified? Had he picked out something about your wife he didn’t like, launched into that tirade and jumped out of the vehicle, what would you have suggested she do?
  20. My thoughts come from being a Toolmaker by trade and a gun collector/shooter as a hobby. My comments are not specific to this test or the HK; they apply to all guns. First off let’s be serious and look at gun basics. They are mechanical devices, the machining and the fit and finish is critical for their operation. Most of us want a quality weapon that will fire every time and be accurate. A competition weapon will require the best fit and finish; tolerances and fit will be tight. They require movement and returning to the same position every time. They will be affected by heat (coefficient of thermal expansion) and any debris introduced that will interfere with the fit of moving parts. Can you pour sand in them and maintain function and accuracy? Of course not. Duty weapons (M&P, Glock, Sig, Beretta, etc.) have tolerances built into their design that allow for more heat and the introduction of some normal debris from carrying. Can you pour sand in them and maintain function and accuracy? Maybe, but probably not. Each weapon, each circumstance, and each result will be different; they are mechanical devices and can fail. Can a weapon be built to be drug through the mud and still work? Sure, I think that was the goal for the AK. Can you do that AND have an accurate weapon? Not yet. So my thought is that whoever made this video ran out of stuff that really matters to do a story on. I only watched the first few minutes. Physics, metallurgy and math; those darn things get in the way every time.
  21. There are people that do not stockpile or prep for that situation. Their plan is that if SHTF they will take what they need by force. I don’t think your stockpile would last very long.
  22. Don’t these news stations have anyone that has even a little bit of knowledge about weapons they are doing stories on? Fact check.
  23. What he did was robbery. I would have had his azz in jail. Too bad someone didn't shoot his worthless azz.
  24. They approved the act, but I will be shocked (and it takes a lot to shock me) to see the Obama administration release 100K handguns to the streets. I don’t think he has realized it yet, and he won’t let it happen when he does.
