  1. I am on a diet and need to lose some weight, so I read this. Pizzing in a jar and blood draws....no problem. Taking a crap in a jar is a deal breaker.
  2. They always leave us 40 guys out. They must figure with the shear devastation of the mighty 40; we don’t need any extra rounds.
  3. Good point. Requiring background checks on all private sales will require more state employees (as I understand it all our checks are handled by the TBI) and probably more computer hardware to handle the increased load. I wonder what the requirements are for him to justify the cost attached to what we think he is about to do?
  4. A SCOTUS ruling that owning guns is a right under the 2nd amendment with reasonable restrictions. That coupled with the fact that states would not comply. (Although that may not help an individual). Nothing stops him from banning AR's and waiting on the courts or Congress to act.
  5.     Exactly. We are fully aware that this won’t do anything. Most (if not all) of the shooters could have legally purchased guns. There will always be people willing to sell guns to criminals if the price is right or they will steal them in burglaries. Look at how bold the recent burglary was here (G&L I think). If the legislature can’t get the votes to overturn an EO, and the SCOTUS decides to stand silent; it could take years to undo this. States can say they won’t comply, but states can’t protect you from Federal prosecution.
  6. I don’t really see anyone rolling over. He’s going to do what he’s going to do and no one can stop that. What happens after that is up to Congress and/or the courts. They don’t need gun registration to ban private sales. They do it like they do anything else; you sell to an agent or an anti-activist and they document it, or someone gets caught in a crime and they say they bought it from you; you get arrested a jury decides if they are believable or not. As I said before, they aren’t really interested in enforcing it; just saying they did all they could. Will they want more gun EO’s or legislation? Of course they will, but the only people that will support it in many states are those that are done in politics. There is a reason he didn’t do this at the end of his first term. And I think this is minor compared to what he will try to do before he leaves office.
  7. The first thing I thought of was the saying “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”. I think it’s a bunch of BS that he is saying he will meet with the AG Monday to decide what they can do. I’m sure he has been in constant conversations with his legal staff and the AG. But at this point we have no idea what he is going to do. Other than he will probably announce it at his last State of the Union on January 12th. He can do pretty much whatever he wants if no one stops him. We have a system of checks and balances that allow Congress to override whatever he does, but that requires a 2/3 vote; good luck with that. The courts could rule it unconstitutional, but that could take years and even then the SCOTUS doesn’t have to hear it. He just wants to say he did everything he could and then have Hillary carry on with it. If it gets overturned; they don’t really care; anyone who’s IQ is higher than their age knows this will have zero impact on violence or terrorism. I’m sure all the top legal minds are standing by at their respective news stations to comment on the legalities of what he does or what he says. The biggest victory we could have would be for individual states to stand together and say “No, we will not comply”. Several states have already said they will not comply with any new Federal laws on gun control. We shall see.
  8. That's some crazy stuff...$250K... Who would have ever thought.. http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Society/2015/1027/Muslim-truck-drivers-refuse-to-deliver-beer-win-240-000-lawsuit
  9. Who knows. If they outlaw private gun sales all websites that aren’t FFL dealers will have to look at their liability. They can say all sales have to go through an FFL, but what about liability when that doesn’t happen? They will have to check with their lawyers as I’m sure there will be people lying in wait to name them in a lawsuit.
  10. They don’t care; they just want to ban it. This is about Obama saying he did everything he could do and Hillary picking it up and running with it. Criminals won’t abide by it anyway and law abiding citizens will go through the background checks. I saw someone post that they will be civilly disobedient. Well that’s great, but it would require two people that are willing to risk arrest. Also, they may not be able to prove the case against you; but that doesn’t make your legal costs any less after they arrest you.
  11. If I’ve told you once, I've told you a million times; don’t exaggerate.
  12. There are already Federal laws against that. Why don’t they enforce the laws we already have? Because it’s BS; they want all private sells to go through an FFL. I wonder if when they do it are they going to allow FFL’s to charge whatever they want? The TBI will have hit a home run with $10 off every gun sale in the state. Whats next; sales tax?
  13. Certainly he will try. It’s a political move so he can say he tried everything even when Congress would not act. Hopefully the courts won’t have to get involved. Congress should step up and do the right thing; it’s their job. They can pass legislation to override an EO, but when he vetoes it; it would take a 2/3 vote to override his veto. I just wish these reporters would get educated and quit calling it the “Gun Show Loophole” and call it what it is; stopping private sales without going through the Feds.
  14.     Amen. We (Americans) did this, and we (Americans) will have to get us out of it. There are those of us that are heavy lifters that will carry our share and take care of our responsibilities to our kids and grandkids, and those who are more than willing to leave that to someone else if it saves them a buck.
  15. That CNN link doesn't work for me, but this CNN story says they don't know what he is going to do. http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/31/politics/obama-to-announce-new-executive-action-on-guns/
  16. I could be wrong but I assume its being driven by the military gun issues. Time is running out.
  17. Good. It’s good for Ruger, good for your shops business, and good for our economy. Is anyone making holsters for them yet?
  18. Agreed. It should be as simple as the person in question submitting a statement to the maintaining agency that a mistake has been made. Then it is up to the agency to fix it or show the documentation. Failure to act after they have been properly notified is negligence. Have there been a lot of innocent people put on the sex offender registry? The biggest problem I see with it is the amount of new government jobs the state will try to justify to maintain it.
  19. The creators of this law would be our legislators. They won’t be held personally responsible. We have criminal databases now that are full of errors. They are protected from lawsuits unless there is criminal intent or gross negligence . And if a lawsuit is won; yes, the taxpayers pay the bill just like everything else. We live in the information age. So give us access the information. Innocent citizens have the right to access this information; criminals do not have a right to keep it private.
  20. Are these two used guns you are looking at or are you open to other options? Of those two I would pick the Ruger, but only if that’s the caliber you want.
  21. Why not just make a criminal registry where people can do background checks? I think animal cruelty is a terrible crime, but I bet someone that has had a gun stuck in their face and robbed thinks that’s just as bad or worse.
  22. I wonder if any Somalians are ski instructors.
  23. If that gun sold for $290 it would all of a sudden be the best looking and most accurate handgun on the market.
  24. If you walk off the job or strike you better know you have some power. It’s a roll of the dice and came up snake eyes for them.
  25. We live in a time where the group that lives off the government is getting bigger and bigger. They vote for whoever promises them the most money. Eventually (until our economy collapses) they will be electing everyone. Money fixes most everything, from crime rates to broken families. There are no issues more important right now than our economy. We need to get our manufacturing base back, and put people back to work.
