  1. I don’t think you will see any kind of registry or any kind of special license. I think you will see the BATF be pressured into more clearly defining what a gun dealer is and putting a number on the amount of guns you can sell. As I said before and truly believe this isn’t about making anything safer; I don’t believe Obama gives a rip about anyone else. This is 100% political and is so he can say he has done all he can, and require anyone he supports in the coming elections to pledge their support to gun control.

  4. Pistol or rifle? I don’t have any cans, but my M&P22 rifle came with a threaded barrel.
  5. Then you probably should talk to an attorney. If the cops are going to arrest you; they are going to arrest you. They could charge you with something like reckless conduct that has nothing to do with the laws you think are protecting what you are doing. An AG opinion is not law and a Judge is not obligated to abide by it. But if you have the money to throw at it; by all means go for it.
  6.   I would suggest that you go talk to a Command Officer from the department that would be responding to a call of illegal shooting, and maybe a Wildlife Officer to address the hunting issue. Usually they are more than happy to fill you in. They would be the ones making decisions about what happens to you initially.
  7. Good for her for coming forward. Of course Obama doesn't care about the victims of crime. http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_29359579/colorado-rape-victim-challenges-obamas-stand-guns-at
  8. That's just bad azz. Are you benchrest shooting in competition somewhere around here?
  9. They can do that when they make the rules. I doubt anything will happen unless people act; and I doubt that will happen. I wanted to quit using Google when they tried to ban the gun ads. But I couldn’t; they don’t have any real competition.
  10. Should be soon

  12. One of the worst cases I remember from being a cop was a home invasion. Having a plan is a good idea. But you must understand a home invasion is not like a burglary; it will go down fast. It could be over before people in other rooms know what is going on or have time to react. Be able to put a loaded functioning gun in your hand immediately. Most home invaders will take you by physical force before you have time to arm yourself. They will be armed and they will start shooting as soon as they see a threat. Time is critical. Pick your weapons carefully and buy the very best you can afford. Become intimately familiar with them. Learn point instinct shooting so you can shoot a person without the use of sights or trying to get a sight picture. Sights are for target shooting. Think about what you will be doing in the first few seconds. Gathering people together or going somewhere will probably not be an option. And get a dog.
  13. I am looking at buying a bead blasting cabinet. I have a lot of experience with very fine glass bead blasting, but have never used baking soda. I have a project that I probably should do with soda. But I want to be able to use either. So my question is this... from what I have read baking soda breaks up, so that would means its not reusable? So I wonder what will happen using it in an enclosed cabinet? I don’t want the kind that is not contained and you have to use outside. Can anyone offer any insight?
  14. He’s lucky he was charged with carrying past a sign and not reckless endangerment. Which he could still be charged with should he decide to fight this. They are going after his job, so this will probably end in a plea.
  15. Wow I got excited there for a minute; we make parts for Skunkworks. But then I saw it’s not our guys… http://www.lockheedmartin.com/us/aeronautics/skunkworks.html
  16. The data is skewed because it doesn’t exist. The only way to check it would be to know what all departments in the country allow their Officers to carry, and what they are actually carrying. S&W, Sig and Glock could probably come pretty close to establishing those numbers by making the numbers public; but that won’t happen. So they can all claim whatever number they want. If it matters to someone what guns cops carry; that information is easy to get.
  17. Nope, you don’t get to do that. If you pick #2 Congress (The Feds), not the states will be defining what a militia is. We know what the current SCOTUS would do; they have done it. That is what this thread is about.
  18. Okay, I’ll play. There are only two black and white choices. 1. Every law abiding American can strap on a gun and walk down the street. No state or local law shall interfere with this right. 2. No person unless they are part of a well-regulated militia (approved by the Feds) has the right to keep or bear arms. Which would you pick as a SCOTUS Justice? You don’t get to quote any standing decisions; we are starting new.
  19. When did these appeals start taking so long? I had it happen to me twice and both times I got a call from the FFL in about three days to pick the gun up.
  20. The first people you should talk to is your city codes department. If you get past them the BATF shouldn’t be a problem.
  21. Buy one, shoot it and find out for yourself. Keep it or sell it and move on to the next one. Works for me.
  22. Yes, but mine was a non-disqualifying misdemeanor (gun in my car in Illinois) and the charges were dismissed. I had to get paperwork from the court showing the disposition as dismissed. I don’t know the legal ramifications of “retired”. I do know that “expunged” is way overrated. Arrest records are rarely pulled. But it might get it out of the Feds records. Then there is the case of the guy who had a full pardon and the state still refused to restore his gun rights. But yes, it will probably happen again if it doesn't get marked "dismissed" or get out of the database. OP: It sounds like you are on the right track and have an attorney if you need one; good luck.
  23. Never heard of them before. Another all American gun manufacturer. I wish them luck.
  24. M&P 40 Full size M&P40 Compact M&P Shield 40 Kahr MK40 They all work fine; I don’t have any problems with the round. There are plenty of recent threads about the caliber wars, so I won’t go there. Everything is application driven. My experience tells me it is the best for application I am using it for. I also own .45’s, .357’s and 38’s; haven’t owned a 9mm in years. Is there some specific concern you have?
  25. Marketing Don’t get me wrong I have a Shield and really like it, but it’s a belly gun not a range or target gun; sights and porting add nothing. The trigger on mine is fine, but again... It’s not a target gun.
