  1. I looked at it. I decided I would have to like it as a hobby because I wouldn’t save any money. I would want the best quality components and equipment. I didn’t need another hobby. I have never reloaded a round in my life. But I have spent most of my life as a Machinist/Toolmaker/Programmer/QA with a lot of experience in stamping and multi-slide presses. I would need to see proof that someone can reload with better quality and consistency than a quality ammo manufacturer. My other thought is that accuracy is a lot more the shooter than the hardware. I know people that can pick up any quality firearm, fire a few rounds, and then proceed to shoot the center out of the target.
  2. Being from Homeland Security doesn’t mean she’s right. Her family could be killed while trying to get them to safety. If you have the skills to engage an active shooter; do it. Again, I’m not implying it’s required; it’s not. Every situation may be different.
  3. I won’t try to stop a robbery, but I won’t stand by and watch someone get killed either. There is no duty to act; I feel a personal responsibility to act. I guess it’s the ex-cop in me. But I also have a plan to make sure I don’t get shot in the process by another civilian or a cop.
  4. How are you copying the link? All you have to do is click on the “DIRECT” (is what I use)You will see "COPIED" appear Paste the picture direct link into the image properties box. (CTRL V)
  5. When you have the single photo open in PB, you will see four choices to the right, click “Direct”, you will see it say “copied”. In TGO make sure the BBCode Mode in the far upper left is on. Click on the picture icon and the “image properties” window will open. Paste the link you just copied (Ctrl V)... Done.
  6. If the state wants to force a private business owner to recognize your right to carry; they will have to recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right. Until that happens they don’t have squat to say about it. They don’t want to do that; that’s what complicates it. It’s already a trespass issue. Try to find someone that has been cited for carrying past a sign. I doubt you will find any; but I bet you can find several that have been given trespass warnings. Carrying past a sign is a criminal misdemeanor $500 fine only. Trespassing is a criminal misdemeanor that could have jail time attached. Why would you want it to be more serious?
  7. G&L needs to open a store in Murfreesboro. That is all....
  8. Carrying a firearm in this state is a crime. Now they want legislation that holds a business owner responsible for not putting their stamp of approval on those the state deem worthy? Talk about a thug government. Sorry I can’t get onboard with that. And I’m pretty sure the courts won’t either.
  9. I don’t think it does either. When I buy on-line it’s usually because the dealer doesn’t have what I want and can’t give me a time to get it. I don’t pay a local dealer more because I can come in and caress a gun; I don’t need to see it to buy it. I pay more so I can walk in and get it...instant gratification. I think inventory hurts locals more than anything. I would even be willing to wait a reasonable amount of time. (No, I don’t have that but I can have one here Wednesday) If he gets me the gun, I’m paying taxes, but not an extra transfer fee amount. If the guns are available to me on-line a dealer should be able to get them from his distributor. If they can’t that’s probably an easier problem to fix than taxes.
  10. Well if they are trying to be politically correct; a name change will be next.
  11. Wanna bet? It hasn't totally sunk in on them yet how much $328 million is.
  12. Violent attacks are on the rise. Even liberals want a gun after they have been attacked.
  13. The Sherriff is the CLEO in every county in Tennessee with the exception of Davidson; where it is the Chief of Police.
  14. Look at the numbers for Wyoming and D.C. I think someone was taking drugs while doing math.

    Want!

Cool, but not $695 worth of cool.
  16. Good for you, I know that makes you feel good. I was in the same situation once, only I thought he was pulling a gun, but wasn’t sure. I violated department policy and fired a warning shot at his feet. He was pulling a gun and that stopped him. He was a juvenile, everyone lived and it changed our department policy on warning shots. Pretty interesting how your mind works and what you think about, isn’t it?
  17. I’d contact S&W; they will probably warranty it. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_750001_750051_757826_-1_757814_757812_image
  18. I don't know if this has been posted; but I'll add it. Law Prof: ‘New ATF Guidance on Gun Sales is Legally Meaningless’ http://blog.cheaperthandirt.com/law-prof-new-atf-guidance-gun-sales-legally-meaningless/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=social&utm_content=010916chronicle&utm_campaign=CH010916-lawprofnewatfguidancegunsaleslegallymeaningless
  19. If medical records become available to the government and the government decides a PTSD diagnosis is a disqualifier; I doubt she would be any safer than anyone else. I also doubt cases will be researched on an individual level unless it’s part of some appeals process. I say “If” because we don’t know what they are going to do yet; no one is talking. I don’t see the liberal Democrats being anymore excited about their Doctors making their medical records available to the government than we are.
  20. There are a bunch of nosey people on TGO (Myself included). I just looked at their site and it has 14 “guests” in the last 28 minutes.
  21. I don’t think so. They passed a law that friends or family members could get a 21 day restraining order that allows the cops to seize weapons and prevents a person from buying until a hearing. The same thing could be done here if your family calls the cops.

  23. If you have rust; you won’t remove it without impacting the finish. Are they Leupold rings?
  24. I don’t think any changes to the forum would help much. The people that are pushing the envelope know who they are and have decided to take that risk. This isn’t something new; it’s been going on for a long time. The BATF appear to be a patient bunch. I’m sure if they target someone they will have printed copies of all the sales hey have tracked and would probably even make buys themselves. Most of the time (that I have seen) when they get involved in busting someone for selling; an incident or complaint started that ball rolling. It’s not right that people choose to break the law, but it’s also not right that we don’t know what the law is. I suspect you will see a number put on it. With technology moving as fast as it is I also except to see a time when you can get on-line and submit a background check yourself. Maybe not to get information on a person, but to get an “approved” or “rejected” for a gun purchase. The main problem I see with this is the Feds (or the state) getting access to medical information. Will someone that is seeing a shrink or someone that is prescribed depression meds lose their gun rights? That means many people that need help; won’t get it.
  25. This technology is moving fast. Quality cameras are becoming fairly cheap. The costs seem to be in selling subscriptions to the “cloud” or some storage area. Once applications address accessing wireless hard drives; the costs will be less. Some may already do it.
