  1. This is really disheartening. I don’t use Facebook much, but the family posts stuff there so I use it. I have never been to any gun trading pages, I never got around to looking for them; guess it’s too late. I hate to see that these spoiled liberal rich kids can shut off what they don’t think is right. Don’t get me wrong; I don’t question their right to do it. Mark Zuckerberg built a company worth 245 billion dollars (more than Walmart) from his college dorm room; so I wouldn’t think he is stupid. So how can he think that banning gun owners from Facebook will help in any way shape or form? Facebook and Google won’t miss a beat with their anti-gun polices. The people that won’t use Facebook over their anti-gun policies probably didn’t use it anyway. Anyone that is serious about doing a search will still use Google. Google isn’t the only game in town, but they are so far ahead of the competition, the completion can’t see their taillights. They can shut us off, but if anyone suggested to them they ban the stoners and the druggies; that would never fly. Pitiful.
  2. You guys should all pitch in and help me buy a FA. Because as soon as I spent $30K on a FA the GCA and the NFA would be repealed and you would be able to buy a M16 for the same price as an AR15.
  3. I agree and I signed up, but it appears everyone and their brother is creating a group. Other than the link posted here I didn’t even see TGO listed. At first glance I don’t see any reason why anyone from here would use that instead of this forum; but maybe I’ll figure it out.
  4.     I didn’t mean to imply that someone trying to take your gun doesn’t justify the use of deadly force; it did when I was a cop and I believe it still does today. It satisfies the requirements of “immediate danger of death or great bodily harm”. I’m also not suggesting you surrender your weapon. I’m suggesting that a group of gang bangers could casually walk up to you in the mall and take your weapon. We have all seen the “knockout” videos. Most of those people never even moved their arms; too fast too furious. As a Police Officer I’m sure you have either been involved in or seen several Officers disarm someone that has a gun. Duck, tuck, cover and turn all you want; but if you are overpowered you are overpowered. I know that may be hard for some people to swallow; but its real life. It’s just something to think about and discuss.
  5. What... they suspend you if you have gun stuff up?
  6. I don’t think a Glock 18 is old enough to be transferable to a private citizen. But I’m not sure, I thought about FA once, but decided I could turn $100 bills into empty brass fast enough without a FA. Good luck on your search.
  7. I have never asked my State Farm agent about guns; didn’t want to go there. But years ago I ask him about computer equipment and he said there was a $5K cap without adding a rider. I know insurance companies were talking about declining or requiring more insurance on certain breeds of dogs (don’t know if they ever did that or not). But I suspect they may have problems with requiring you to disclose guns in the house; although I’m sure they could decline coverage on them. They aren’t the government and can do what they please. But legislation requiring it might have problems.
  8. You can have all the situational awareness your mind can handle, but if multiple perps walk up on you in in public, you can’t start waving a gun around; you will go to jail. Unless you have the skills of Bruce Lee, they don’t have much to worry about in disarming you.
  9. Automotive supplier in Clinton
  10. How did you lose 40%? You didn’t have to make a deal with the dealer all you had to do is pay shipping back to whoever you bought it from after the appeals process was over. A dealer got a gun at retail for someone that couldn’t pass a background check. How is that his fault? Yes, TICS appears to have problems, but you could have dealt with them if it was a mistake.
  11. Because Christy said he’s a changed man. That and he don’t have a snowball’s chance of winning.
  12. What a clever idea.
  13. It won't stop with Facebook.
  14. This might help... https://knoxcounty.org/gsjudges/traffic/avoid_court.php
  15. Doesn’t the traffic DA have to subpoena an Officer to appear in court here? Wouldn’t a 35/30 get his attention?
  16. I’d be curious to know also. Speeding in a school zone was a "must appear" where I came from. But he probably would have mentioned that.
  17. A big thank you to AG Slatery, Commissioner Gibbons, Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and the Virginia legislature on a job well done.
  18. It’s not just kids “today”. In the 70’s and 80’s it was chugging Everclear; same result many times....death.
  19. I doubt that any of our essays on here would pass. But that’s what you get when a Chief of Police or a County Sherriff has sole discretion with no rules in place. The $1100 “Training” also helps keep the riff raff (ordinary citizens) out. This is an example of stuff that makes cops look bad. He has no intensions of issuing permits, except maybe to a few of his friends. I would suggest that the city needs a new Chief. But since the City Council adopted it unanimously; that won’t happen; they are as crooked as he is.
  20. Remove the suicides (I mean it is probably one of the most humane ways, and access to guns won’t stop people from killing themselves), remove the legally justified shootings. What happens to that number when its only criminal acts and negligent shootings?
  21. I can’t address the Bi-polar, but unless things have changed there is an AG opinion (2006) on the discharge. Of course an AG opinion isn’t law, but it might help. Here is a link, but the short version is… http://attorneygeneral.tn.gov/op/2006/op/op109.pdf
  22. Well… they can say all they want about FFL’s can make the sale if the time expires. But I doubt there are many (if any) that would do that. I am sure there are many (totally) innocent people that are being rejected and having their 2nd amendment rights violated. Flying on an airplane is not a constitutionally protected right; being able to buy a gun is.
  23. Why didn’t they show any of the signs these people rode past. Were they there or not?
  24. I tried to binge watch it, but I kept dozing off. I saw a lot of it. It certainly is a weird case. I don’t know if he did it or not, but I think there should be a new trial. You don’t have an outside agency handle an investigation and then let people from the first agency work the case and have full access to the crime scene. There was no hand off of the case to the other county. You can’t believe anything Brendan said. ..period. He did not have the mental capacity to be involved in the trial. The car keys. They just appeared on the floor after the area had already been searched? Give me a break. Cops committed crimes that would send them to prison? Why? Just to convict him? That’s possible, but it would require multiple Deputies to be involved. The problem with getting a new trial is that they would need new evidence. The car, the keys, the bad cops, Brendan’s false confession, those things all played out in front of the jury. I don’t see where they have anything new. Maybe I need to try to watch it all the way through again and stay awake this time.
