That’s not possible.

To me it’s a hobby with a challenge. I started with DOS and have worked my way through all the flavors of windows. (yes, I don’t think I’m that much younger than you ). I was using various CAD/CAM programs to program CNC machine tools as my job, and photography was my hobby. So I learned out of necessity. You can’t let a hardware or software conflict stop production, you have to fix it and move on. I use to beta test the new operating systems. I don’t do that anymore, but I usually get the new OS the first day it’s released. I’ve become a technology junkie; so it’s fun. Change is the only way we progress. If the young people of today could see what we have progressed though; they would be amazed. Most of the new operating systems are an improvement. Some have not been. Windows ME and Vista were terrible operating systems. I am not an IT or networking person; I am an applications person. I keep my OS and my applications running the way they should. I’ll offer some things I have learned over the years that may help. You can’t upgrade an OS and have it perform the way a clean install will. Many will argue that; but it is what it is. You can’t upgrade to the latest OS on your old azz computer and have it perform properly. Hardware and drivers and critical to the operation of the OS; some old stuff will work; some won’t. Don’t hose your new OS as soon as you get it. A big portion of your OS is the browser; it is an integrated part of the OS. Adding Chrome, Firefox or whatever the flavor of the month is and then blaming the OS is ridiculous. After market web browsers are designed and written to the requirements of the OS; not the other way around. I’ve had issues with EDGE and some websites and forums. But I understand that is just a matter of waiting for them to update to the new OS. Google knows everything. If you have an issue or an error message; check it on Google. The hard part is wading through the results and deciphering who knows what they are talking about and who doesn’t. (Just like with gun stuff) I Have fun with it. Am I crazy?

Proposed Neighborhood Crime Plan Would Arm Residents
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That’s a good idea, but I suspect the conversation will be short once they look at their liabilities. Just ask the Zimmerman home owners assoc. -
Because I think he wants to send the message he doesn’t practice good control....about anything.

Another story where it would be interesting to hear from the guy who shot himself as to what happened. Of course unless someone here knows him we probably won’t hear that.

Password protected phone could be your best witness?

The participants of family fights and neighborhood situations get pretty emotional, especially when on their own property. I am a dog lover and would hate to ever have to kill a dog; I’m not getting bit either. I’ve had to draw my weapon a couple of times on dogs attacking, but have never had to shoot one, I’ve maced a couple though. Usually when the dog is an issue it’s the fault of the owner. Those people were all standing around watching when the cops pulled up; they should have secured the dog. My dog would not have been out in the yard when I see cops approaching. I’ve seen Officers bit by dogs right after someone said “Come on up, he won’t bite you”. I’ve had some tense moments on family fights getting people to secure a dog in another room. When you start arresting people there is no telling what a dog will do. Your dog isn’t going to stop the cops from doing whatever it is they are going to do; so why put its life in danger? I don’t know why the cop decided to arrest her. But in the video it looks like he pulled her out of the way, and she threw herself on the ground. I doubt he had training that required him to kill dogs that approached him even if they were chained and wagging their tail, as he testified. If that’s true; that needs to be addressed. They need to look at the famous video and court case of the Cookeville cop that shot a puppy on a traffic stop for no apparent reason other than it approached him. If I remember right there is a group that teaches cops how to handle dogs on a call. And if my memory serves be correctly THP had them do training for Troopers, even though they weren’t the ones that shot the dog. -
Why do Widows discussions usually turn to Windows vs. Mac? For many of us Mac isn’t an option. Unless of course you think buying a Mac and running Windows on it is a fix.

No. You are not escalating the situation; it won’t be escalated unless he does it. If he attacks or threatens you; you can act, if he runs you can’t. Will you go to trial? Possibly, it depends on the evidence at the scene and the statements of any witnesses. Not too long ago there was a thread on here about this happening in Smyrna. A guy leaned out his window with a gun and threatened a guy breaking into his car. When the perp ran the guy shot at him. The rounds hit near a neighbor across the street sitting on his porch. The home owner was arrested.

I’m running 10 and I like it. I tried 10 on an older computer and it had issues. I wrote it off to hardware that wasn’t supported. If you have the hardware to run it; give it a try. Many of the problems I see is people installing 10 and then installing a different browser, having problems and blaming 10. I wouldn’t try to roll back any OS. If you know how to do it; format and do a clean install. Get Acronis and image your drive before installing 10, then if you want to switch back it’s not a big deal and you don’t have to reinstall everything.

You are supposed to put a scope in those rings? I thought those holes were awfully big. Great FOV view though.

Wow, they are flat gettin’ it. That looks dangerous for spectators (and the local sheep).

I wonder how they justify this. The average gas tax is .48, theirs is .59. So it’s not a tax issue. Price fixing? http://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/gas-price-over-dollar5-in-california/ar-BBqkvRj?ocid=spartanntp

Virginia now recognizes HCP reciprocity again

I know, but I keep forgetting when I’m there (old age ya know). I figured by now one of the cops from a surrounding state would have answered that. -

Virginia law requires you have the permit with you and shown it on demand. I would guess another law enforcement agency could check it the same way they check your DL; but that’s just a WAG. -
And in other breaking news the other 8 nuclear powers said they to believe nukes should be ready for use.

What’s Constitutional about the state saying when and where a special group can carry, but giving property owners no say on their own property? I am part of a special group that pays the state for the privilege of carrying. I have no problem with that as its better than the alternative. I wish we had Constitutional carry; but we don’t. Me sending money to the state in no way should allow me to have a say in how a business owner runs his business. If the state wants a say; they can recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right; and allow all to carry. Saying you can’t carry in a state building, but you can carry in a private building is a thug government. Sorry, but I am tired of special groups wanting the government to legislate their agendas. I can support this if it’s attached to legislation acknowledging the right of all citizens to carry.

They were caught pretty quick.

Trespassing is a more serious charge than carrying past a sign. The way I read the Sign violation it's fine only.

They will be going to prison.

It’s at the intersection of Old Fort and Bridge (West across the street from Red Lobster). That intersection is already a mess and this will make it really bad. The road to Lowes is about 100 feet back from the intersection traffic light and during busy times it backs up traffic on Bridge. I’m curious to see how the city handles it. Stuff at Harbor Freight is really cheap. I don’t buy anything except limited use stuff there.

XD's are made in Croatia. Springfield is simply the importer; not the manufacturer.

I’ve never supported a cop that is wrong. But yes, I support the Police; I’m not ashamed of that. That 98% figure shows how you feel. Cops don’t wonder why people don’t like them; they know.

Man, I’m so tired of criminals getting shot and blaming the Police: it’s ridiculous.
