  1. If you corner them and the only way to get away is past you; you don’t get to execute them and then say you were in fear. You can try it; but you will probably stand trial. That’s the part I was pointing out to the OP. You do whatever you are ready to take responsibility for. I'm not killing anyone I don't have to; the law doesn't let us do that anymore.
  2. Okay, we get it. But that isn’t what he asked. He asked a question about the use of force in this state. And it does matter who thinks what; no one gives a rolling rip down a razor blade what you think. Between a good Prosecutor and the judge’s instructions the jury will be considering what THEY (a reasonable person) would have done. And if they find beyond reasonable doubt that you were not in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm; you go to prison. And that is the fact. Many people ask these questions because they know that not only do they have a duty to protect their family; they have a duty to their family to stay out of prison. I remember a time when I could shoot a fleeing burglar; and believe that is the way it should still be. But it isn’t.
  3. From the BATF.... https://atf-eregs.18f.gov/478-147/03-1657 My guess would be that these words are what cause some manufacturers to go through an FFL.
  4. I’m going to let the die maintenance guys know that. ;)
  5. I just look at them; they don’t look the same. The brass would have to be in pretty bad shape to not be able to tell the difference. Steel is hard on extractors and chambers. I’m not a reloader, but I’m a Toolmaker; I would guess it could scratch your dies and shorten the life of your leloading equiptment.
  6. My first duty weapon was a 4” 19. In 1978 Police officer price was $175. :)  They are truly target guns; hang onto it, enjoy it and shoot it.
  7. I like his story.... A hand up instead of a handout.

  9. Does "gotta shoot our ammo" apply to handguns? I haven't been there in awhile, but it never did.
  10. Both. My DPMS AP4 308 didn’t get the memo that it can’t be 100% reliable; because it has been. But I don’t shoot crappy ammo or steel case ammo in mine. I don’t buy foreign made guns so I can’t really comment on the FAL, but it seems to me comparing an AR10 and a FAL would be like comparing my DPMS and my Garand; apples and oranges. But I would say if I could only have one rifle it would be a .308 DPMS AP4. Short range, long range, battle rifle, it does all the jobs. Thankfully I don’t have to make that choice and can keep all my rifles.
  11. And for those of us that work in the real world where a MAC can’t cut it? There is a reason PC’s own the market.
  12. You apparently are running Windows 10 and your browser is EDGE. Go to the very top right of the menu bar. You will see three dots and when you hover over it, it says “MORE”. Click that. The last choice on the flyout that appears is “SETTINGS”. Click that. At the bottom of that flyout is says “VIEW ADVANCED SETTINGS” Click on that. The last item on the next menu says Help protect me from malicious site…..etc. Click to the left to turn that off. Restart EDGE. WARNING: You are turning off some system security. But that the only way to work around it until the site is updated.
  13. That’s how I see it. The intent of the law is that you go through a background check; that is done. And as long as you don’t transfer ownership of the gun to them, no one really cares where the money came from. I don’t know why we should care who bought it or from what store. If they think buying new guns and destroying them will help; roll on. I have some guns I’ll sell them.
  14. No, a 64 can’t be a 65 because the cylinder is too short and a 65 can’t be a 66 because it doesn’t have adjustable sights.
  15. Who enters the piece of information that's says who was in possession of the gun the Officer is running?
  16. True, but this statement makes me think none of that really mattered...
  17. Maybe David will fix it when he gets time. Disabling SmartScreen isn’t a fix; it’s a work around.
  18. I have the hard to find 2.5” Model 66. I’ll trade it for a Remington 1100 Competition Synthetic.
  19. A gift. As long as you don't transfer ownership.
  20. They aren’t straw purchases. They are buying the guns and destroying them; that isn’t a straw purchase. If they bought them and transferred ownership to the anti-gun people; it would be a straw purchase.
  21. Anyone else getting a Microsoft Smart Screen Warning? I stated getting it about 6:10 this morning every time I click on anything in TGO.
  22. I’d be curious to know if you have to buy ammo from them, I find that hard to believe unless maybe it’s just rifle ammo. There used to be a $150 deposit for the rifle lane that you lost if there was any damage to their equipment; so I never took the risk. I just go to the rifle range at Terry Walden’s place. But I can understand them not wanting steel core rifle ammo used at an indoor range.
  23. Expose them for what? We are all very familiar with the anti-gun groups. There have been plenty of threads here about them. Two years ago Bloomberg said he would spend $50 million on gun control measures. They have been here filming at our gun shows, they have had people elude to the fact they were convicted felons to see if people would sell to them (they will). This has been going on for a long time. I don’t think G&L could do much about these guys. Maybe if they knew they might refuse to sell to them, but I don’t know why they would. If this group wants to pay for guns to be destroyed; so be it, it helps in the industry and our economy. (Don’t tell them that though, if they find out they are helping our country they will quit doing it)
  24. Well sure, if everyone that owned a gun voted Republican. This election isn’t going to be about guns; it’s going to be about jobs and the economy. You have those that want to see our economy recover by helping business in this country grow, those that only care how much money the government is going to pay them each month, and those who simply don’t care or don’t vote. The second group is getting bigger all the time, getting the third group off their azz and to the polls is our only hope of beating Hillary.
