Every department is different. We had to buy our own on the department I was on many years ago; I think they supply them today. I would rather buy my own than have a department issued weapon.

Is there a way to change/set the default settings? I usually only view in two ways, either all content or items I have commented in. I don’t want the content removed from the list if I have read it, so I set it to “everything”. But when I close and come backs it changes to “Content I haven’t read”. When I change it “Save as a new stream” pops open. I did that but I don’t see where it did anything. What does that do? I’m trying not to hate change; I really am.

These belt threads usually go the same way the pump shotgun threads go; the answers are Beltman and Remington 870. It just doesn’t get any better.

Florida police chief writes himself a parking ticket
DaveTN replied to ou812's topic in General Chat
I’m amazed that he is the Chief and that is also his first name. Talk about coincidences. -
The manufacturer issues an “upgrade notice” (or whatever they called them in the past), the lawsuits are paid, and the belief that a gun can’t fire without pulling the trigger is still safe. Three people stood there and watched this happen. I have no doubt they know what happened. But I have serious doubts we will ever hear the story from them.

I was wrong. I can see machining centers in the background in one of those pictures. Can't tell what they are; but they are there.

How do you know? Here are the pictures of the new Beretta plant in Gallatin. As you can see this is a manufacturing facility. Those are Haas machining centers (among others) on a manufacturing floor. Does Glock have anything like this? I’ve ask what kind of machines Glock has by people that have claimed to have been in there; no one seems to know. No one seems to know any machinists that work there either. I don’t think it’s anything more than an assembly facility. https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/4/15/keefe-report-beretta-open-for-business-in-tennessee/

Does Glock have machines and Machinist’s here? (The coke/candy machines don’t count)

I also had to reset my password

So you have this insurance and USCCA is going to pay your attorney bills when you shoot an innocent bystander?
-
It’s not about you; it’s about the company and getting the job done. If that means you being part of the solution instead of part of the problem; so be it. Those in charge will notice.

US appeals court hears Maryland gun control case
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Stayed tuned to see what happens. This is an important case. -
I bought one of these when I was trying to find auto knives under $100. The Kershaw launch is pretty good.
-
Since the law changed I’d be stocking up on auto knives. There are plenty that don’t cost anywhere near $400; and would actually sell. Plus, unlike guns; you can actually get them. I had a Kershaw Launch 3 Automatic that was pretty nice for $100.

Things can be done to help; unfortunately they are not requirements. Any search warrant; no knock, or not can go south for the either the cops or the people inside. A no knock or forced entry warrant should require the lead investigator (hopefully the person that is developing the information) to have eyes on the house at the time of entry. Chiefs and Sherriff’s should never allow Officers to wear masks or subdued uniforms. The uniform should be the standard uniform a citizen would recognize, criminal wear masks; not cops. If a full on assault by the SWAT team is needed; the requirements should be more than “We don’t want them to flush their drugs”. Good Police work can prevent that without anyone having to die. These procedures are set by the Chief or Sherriff. If you don’t like the procedures in your area; let them know. A man died in Lebanon because the cops had the wrong house. I can’t for the life of me figure out how that can happen with professionals; there is no excuse. If I remember right they charged the Lieutenant in charge; but then dropped charges. His wife got a settlement that she’s not allowed to talk about; but he is dead.

I contend it doesn’t matter if I used a grenade launcher; if I’m justified in the use of deadly force. Tennessee law states that. Now if you shoot an innocent bystander; yes the door is open for everything. The only way ammo is going to become an issue is if an innocent got shot.

I don’t know about Nitre, but bluing is becoming a lost art as it may be near the price of the gun to have it done. I wanted an S&W model 19 reblued in the high gloss original blue it once had. A guy in Christiana did it for me after I did the prep and polishing. I thought this was something I might want to do for retirement income, but I can’t get an FFL where I live; so there goes that idea. If you could get the process of hot bluing down, and charge a reasonable rate, and get an FFL; I believe there is a fortune to be made.

The problem with a civil case is that if you were justified you probably won’t have any court action or rulings saying that; the DA just won’t charge you. That doesn't mean you were justified. The other problem is that you still have to pay your attorney. You may get a judgement against the person that sues you, but that doesn’t mean they will pay. If they don’t have it; you don’t get paid. The ammunition issue is comical. Were you justified in the use of deadly force is the issue. Can you use reloads? Of course. But why in the world would anyone want to. Go to the reloading section and look at all the problems they have. No one can make a more reliable round than a high quality self-defense round from one of the leading manufacturers that have been doing it forever. Anyone that truly believes they may have to use a gun in a self-defense shooting will want a quality gun with quality ammunition.

I’m restoring a 1976 KZ900 I owned many years ago and just got back. Only one place had the original Diamond Brown, I really don’t like that color and it became a hassle to get everything I need. So I am painting it black. (Hopefully high gloss Black) I have never painted anything in my life (other than using rattle cans) so it’s an experience. Paint costs a lot more than I thought it would.

Thanks, I ordered it this morning on-line. No one had it locally and Nashville and Madison wouldn’t answer the phone. Seems the CA guys (TCP Global) have a warehouse in Duncan SC; so it cost less and won’t take as long as I thought.
