I think its good you take the time to make these videos. I think these things need to be talked about honestly and openly. Do I think it will make any difference to the hate groups we need to reach? Of course not they don’t want peace and racial harmony; they want the cops to be so intimidated so they leave them alone or they want a payday. As far as excessive force… there was no excessive force and I thought blowing the guy up without putting Officer in there was clever. When you have shot 12 people, you are armed and are an immediate threat to all those around, and you are refusing to surrender; there can be no escalation of force, it’s already at as high a level as it gets. They are justified in dropping the building on you if that what it takes. Both the Orlando shooter and the Dallas shooter were in contact with Police. Either one of them had every opportunity to lay down their weapons and surrender; they chose not to and were killed. Most of these shooters know they are going to die. There are not laws or bans that will stop them. Getting killed is all that will stop them. I don’t care if someone is black, white or something else, when you starting killing innocent people (and cops are innocent people) you need to die. Was the robot blown up?

We had an Officer one night get on the air and say he didn’t have his slim Jim with him and wanted to know if anyone had anything to open a car. I told him I did; and ask if he had protection with him. Because of all the mic clicks my Sargent later told me that was unnecessary.

Yes you will be chastised for wanting to ban them; I was for suggesting we ban Illinois carry permits. I can have a gun in my car in Illinois, but to carry they want $300 for 5 years from out of state residents. Over 20 states recognize an Illinois permit; they don’t recognize any. I feel the same way about that as I do about our economy; protectionism is not a bad word. The state of Illinois, California or any other state will never need Tennessee to recognize a handgun permit; their citizens will. Gun carry laws are controlled by the state you are standing in; if they want to carry in their cars; that’s fine. But if they want to carry anywhere else; they need an HCP or reciprocity. Carry is controlled by the states; not the Feds. I don't want to ever see that change.

If you want to learn, buy cheap stuff and build the rifle. Then sell it. That’s what a lot of people are doing and eventually they work their way into a rifle that is truly a quality rifle. Just keep in mind there are some quality factory rifles out there pretty cheap right now. Anything that is cheap is going to have good reviews (good or not). But like anything else you buy; quality costs. Quality is measured differently by different people. Some think its quality if the rifle fires every time without jamming, others only require a tight group, and yet others require it to put every round in the bull at long rage.

Well now the Minnesota Governor has said Castile was killed because he was black. How could he possibly know that? And why would he say something like that? What an idiot.

I will also add this… Have all of you thought about how you would handle a shooting situation that goes down in seconds? You walk into an armed robbery or you walk into someone threatening to shoot someone else. What do you do? What do you say? What are you seeing? Who is the bad guy? Pretty much the same things the cops have to deal with when they roll in on some of these calls. Shots can start going in micro seconds. Getting shot by the cops isn’t the only thing you have to worry about. You could get shot by another HCP holder that walks in on your situation.

I can’t really comment on the shooting you posted about because once again we only have one side of the story. However as I former cop I can respond on how to not to get killed on a traffic stop. Good points have already been made by others. I will tell the Officer I have a carry permit, and I am armed. I will ask how he wants to proceed. I will listen to him, follow his instructions and we will both go home alive. I fully understand that Tennessee law does not require you to inform a Police Officer you are armed. I also fully understand a Police Officer doesn’t need to have the gun pointed at him in a threatening manner before he shoots you to death. Him thinking you are going for it can get you killed. Video or not; you are dead. Communication as in most things is the key. Cops are killed every day in this country. Many are on so called “routine” traffic stops (there is no such thing) and “family fights”. Seeing your co-workers shot does something to you; I know that because I have through it. I have stood in the ER with two Officers and a perp shot and had crying nurses apologize to me because they had to try (and did) to save the scum bag that shot the Officers. It was a house the two Officers had been to any times. Only this time the guy opened fire. I decided that would never happen to me. Not on a domestic violence call and not on traffic stop. Pay attention, don’t do anything stupid, if you feel the need to display a gun for some reason or are going to reach in the area where a gun is; make sure the cop knows and agrees with what you are doing.

So we are deciding between a Glock 19 and a 1911? Seriously, you just need experience shooting other guns. I wouldn’t walk across the street to get a Glock for free if I had to keep it. But obviously some people like them. Maybe you can get a group in your area to shoot somewhere together. Then you could try different guns. I have several samples of different handguns if someone in the Murfreesboro area that has land wanted to do this.

On what rifle?

I wonder if they will be allowed to use the Hillary defense; “Yes, I did it, but I’m a good person that didn’t know and I won’t do it anymore.” I bet if she is elected she wouldn’t recommend an unknowing person that got caught up in this get the break she got. I bet most California prosecutors won’t either.

I don’t reload, but it’s great in this day and age to see companies that stand behind their product with excellent support when needed. Companies like Dillion and Smith & Wesson help keep the customer support levels of other companies up to par and help weed out those that don’t even try to compete on the customer support level. for them!

As someone that works in the machine trades I would guess you would have a hard time finding someone that would take on the liability of doing that. I would guess it would cost less to just buy the barrel you want.

That may be, but embezzlement is theft and that isn't one of them. Do I care if non-violent convicted felons can buy guns? No, I couldn't care less one way or the other. Do I want my taxes to pay the salaries of those that would be required to do the paperwork and keep track of which felons are eligible and which felons are not? No, not a cent.
