I just looked at the ones that have actually sold. I would guess that is going to end with a “buy it now”.

You might want to keep in mind a revolver chambered in the new .327 Federal can also shoot .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and .32 H&R Magnum.
-
I have a MK40 and I doubt it’s the fix you are looking for. Now I know the mighty 40 is a beast compared to the weak 9mm, but I don’t think there is that much difference in recoil. Youi aren’t showing where you are, but if you are in the Murfreesboro area I have plenty of handguns you could let her try. Unfortunately I don’t have anything in 9mm. I have an MK40, M&P’s in all sizes, J-frames, K-frames, and L-frames, she could try. Maybe someone on here has some .327 or .32 stuff she could try?
-
Is she going to carry it or just use it for home defense? The heavier a handgun is the less felt recoil there will be. A 4” S&W K or L frame is a creme puff shooting 38’s as compared to a J frame. Can’t beat a 4” 19/66 or 586/686 for a home defense gun and it is a worthy target/range gun. For carry maybe a S&W 940 9mm if you can find one, although I don’t know there would be a lot of difference in the recoil of the .38. Or both the Ruger SP101 and the LCR are now available in .327 Federal Mag.

I don’t think NIST is going to maintain a traceable database of samples. I think they are defining the way they will be defined and the format for the X3P file type. All my measuring tools are certified with standards traceable to NIST. However my software that creates programs for the CMM machine also has to be NIST certified. For example, the math in how it measures a cylinder in least squared or max/min inscribed needs to be correct. So the aircraft companies require my software to have a NIST cert. Every time I upgrade the software to a new version; I need a new cert. I would guess they need this standard to prove their results in court? (Otherwise it’s all smoke and mirrors) But that’s just a guess. While they may want a searchable database of bullets; I think they want a certified way to show the science of how they match a gun they have to a bullet they have.

In the aerospace industry ever tool I use and the software that runs my inspection equipment must have a cert that can be traced back to NIST standards and certifications. It appears they are trying to do the same thing.

The statute of limitations has probably run out on all that stuff.

New Assault Weapon ban in Massachusetts
DaveTN replied to xsubsailor's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yes, because it’s just an opinion of the law. Cops aren’t bound by it and Judges aren’t bound by it. A Judges ruling in case law would trump his opinion. But it’s a big risk for FFL’s or citizens to take. -
New Assault Weapon ban in Massachusetts

Smith & Wesson is leading the AR market; this doesn’t look good for them. -
You know that's not true; why post that?
-
I’m thoroughly confused now. At no time have I implied that I or any other Officers would have used force against innocent citizens.

This thread (linked below) is kind of going the other way. Apparently the cops should do as they did here and let folks do what they like. I mean that Doctors surgery probably wasn’t all that critical and those people will get over having their car hit, if there is any damage I’m sure they have insurance. And no one was hurt or arrested (that we know of); isn’t that all that matters? I’m just kidding I know folks will be split on what the cops do no matter what happens. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. But they are use to that. When I was a cop that would have ended and traffic would have been moving through that intersection as soon as I arrived or people would have been in jail. I guess makes me one of the bad guys.

TN Firearms Freedom Act
DaveTN replied to wrenchhead97's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
That’s about how I see it, although I would say it’s not that the state won’t protect you; it’s that they can’t protect you. I have never understood why we need a test dummy. No laws were violated in Heller and no arrests made. It might have something to do with the rulings on the Montana case; I don’t know? -
Only an attorney that specializes in that type of law could tell you if what you signed is legal. But I agree with most others; you are only as good as your word.

Only if you don't believe what the Officer said in the video. Or if you believe that Officer on that day decided to kill someone for no reason.
-
Well they are spelled differently. So there's that. I think the best Judge of what an Officer needs is the Officer and the Police administration. I won’t arm chair quarterback those decisions. No one would dare suggest that our military not have what they need. Apparently you have been in combat while in the military? I never was when I was in the military but I have been on the streets of my hometown. I have been in shootings and I have had people try to kill me. In two incidents 18 Police Officers have been shot, 8 of them died. In one case they were facing an AR, in the other an SKS. So please explain to me why those cops deserve anything less than our military has. Would the kinds of vests that would save their lives not be what they needed regardless of what they look like to you? Really? You want to tell the cops they need to wait until the gun is pointed at them? Since you obviously have never been in that situation let me fill you in…when that happens it’s too late. Would you like to apply your requirements to HCP holders also or just cops? How did you come to that decision on Castile? Because the only evidence I have seen is a video where he was already shot when the video started. You going to judge the Officer on that?
-
The same as with your Fire Departments; whatever they need. Body armor, weapons, whatever. Bank of America showed that the responding Officers didn’t have what they needed to stop the threat; Ronnie Barrett fixed that for them. I remember when some folks on here were complaining about cops having military vehicles. One of those armored vehicles was used to approach the nightclub in Orlando, protect the Officers, and knock a hole in the building to gain access and let victims out. Now explain to me why you think the rules are “a bit loose”? In all 50 states the basic requirement is the same for the cops as it is for the rest of us. Immediate danger of death or great bodily harm. If that requirement is not met; the cop can stand trial. But just like you that cop is innocent until proven guilty. And like it or not he is going to get the benefit of the doubt if the person he shot is armed.
-
Well if you think you are visionary because you predicted criminals would kill cops; let me make some predictions. The Police are not going to back down when threatened with deadly force any more than any citizen or member of this forum would if they were threatened with deadly force. Each individual use of force will be dealt with as an individual case and dealt with on a case by case basis; as it should be. No action of any Police Officer in any Police Department caused those sick dirt bags to start shooting cops in Dallas and Baton Rouge. They are people that have severe mental problems and have made up their minds to die. They aren’t revolting against anything; they are acting on hate that they can no longer deal with. They will be killed where they make their stand or they will (hopefully) be executed by the government they hate so much. The American people will support their Police Officers. Those are my predictions.
-
Oh my gosh….. I don’t know why we even try to have intelligent conversations on this it is hopeless. You are blinded by hate.
-
Innocent cops are being murdered by criminals. Fill me in on what I don’t understand.
-
I don’t think things need to get worse before they get better. I also don’t think there will be a break down in society. An attack on our Police Officers is an attack on us; I think it will take a minute for most folks to realize that, but then things will change. I don’t know that there is much the Federal government can do other than get Obama to quit giving these criminals some legitimacy. Local governments need simply give their Police Officer the tools to kill the people that are attacking them and stand by their Officers when they are attacked by criminals.
-
Check out Vortex; they have a few under $300. I have their scopes, but have never used their red dots. Maybe someone can comment on them.

I don’t know whether the cops support open carry in Ohio or not; I would guess their rank and file is no different than anywhere else and they support it. I heard the head of the union calling for the ban on carry this morning; he was very emotional over the shooting of the Officers in Baton Rouge. I don’t know that he was speaking for the majority of cops. As far as Kasich holding the line I don’t know that he made any choices. I’m not sure he could do what that Officer was asking even if he wanted to without declaring some type of martial law.
