$7/100 isn’t bad. I’ll pay that and be happy.

Do you remember what the prices were? I haven’t seen Academy or Wal-Mart jacking the prices up in the past? GM prices are high all the time.

M1 Carbine, piston / nut question.
DaveTN replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
The nut goes all the way in flush and is then staked. Usually if anything it sticks out too far from not being cleaned properly. The only way it could go too far is if the bore or nut was damaged or machined. I can’t find a spec on the depth.- 1 reply

Aren’t theaters fighting to stay alive? Doesn’t seem like they would want to run customers off; especially ones that go every week. I think it’s really sad that businesses that have nothing to do with guns or the gun industry have to make these choices that will have zero impact on criminals.

DaveTN replied to Randall53's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I don’t know what the extras in that package are worth, but here is the same rifle with a scope mount for $75 less. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/82284/CVA+PR2110M+Wolf+209+Magnum+Break-Action+50cal+24"+BluedBlack+w+Mount -
M1 Carbine, deep clean, new development
DaveTN replied to A.J. Holst's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I hear it’s not hard with the tool; Fulton has them for $40. I did it without the tool. I took my time and worked inside a plastic bag so I didn’t have to find parts when they went flying. It’s been a long time ago; I don’t remember it being that hard. But I think I discovered I didn’t have enough hands and my wife had to help. -
Anyone here been to National Museum of the US Air Force, Dayton, OH?
DaveTN replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
This was on the Ohio carry board. The Museum is on the AFB, so a weapon in the car is probably illegal. -
I think you will find it depends on the department. Many years ago when I was a cop it was wait on backup, secure the scene, wait on a team (SWAT, etc.) to enter. I think many departments now simply have the first Officers on the scene enter and engage the shooter. My role as a citizen today would be much different than that of a Police Officer. My role would be to take out the shooter without another citizen or the responding Police thinking I’m the shooter. But again, everything would depend on where I was, how many shooters, etc. My plan/actions would be much different if I was at work than if I was at the mall. The role of those that are unarmed or unwilling to engage the shooter is pretty simple. Put as much distance between you and the shooter as possible. If you can’t run; hide as best you can. Grab your phone and get help on the way.

Wouldn’t “active shooter training” be more philosophy than hands on training? I mean every situation is going to be different. It’s basically accessing your situation and neutralizing the threat. It might make a good discussion here. FEMA has a class on “Active Shooter: What you can do”. But it’s only an hour long, so I’m guessing by the time they introduce themselves, tell you why you are there, and tell you to run or hide; the class is over.

No kidding. Can you imagine the list of losers she will have in her cabinet (should she get elected) that will impact us all. Our AG should be the best legal mind we have to offer; sure hasn’t been anything close to that lately.

Everyone involved was either acquitted or charges were dropped. Now charge Marilyn Mosby with Prosecutorial misconduct and see if she can defend herself.

What gets me is that the state doesn’t recognize the 2nd amendment as an individual right, but yet they think they can tell a business what they can/ can’t do are far as guns and liability goes to those that bought the privilege. If you want to call it a right; it has to be a right

Anyone here ordered from them?

Excellent video. The only thing that will stop an active shooter is another active shooter.

You didn't write that did you?

ATF says (in a letter all over the gun forums) if you transfer ownership you need to have it marked per 27 CFR 478.92. Some of the gun forum “legal eagles” dispute that because the wording of the statute specifies “licensed manufacturers or importers”. I would go by what the ATF says unless you have unlimited legal funds.

That’s pretty cool; you are lucky.

I wish my mom (or my wife) liked to shoot. I would buy them a good target gun and a carry gun. Just like with us; they will be two different guns; she earned both.

My SCSW says a model 30 with a 4” barrel weighs 18 oz. A Ruger LCR in .327 with a 1.87” barrel weighs 17 oz., so I think they are about the same size. Like a .357 giving you more ammo choices over a .38; the .327 gives you more ammo choices over a .32. The Ruger is $500 new. The SP101 is available in .327, but right now they only list the 4”. It weighs 29.5oz, so when/if they offer the 2.25 it should be around 26oz. It should be around $600 new.
