  1. I want a gun and I also have some range questions I wanted to ask some indoor ranges. Finding their emails (if you can) is really hard. They either want you to use FaceBook (who does that? ) or they want you to submit a web page that may or may not go through; you won't know. If you don’t want to spend a bunch of time answering phone calls; isn’t email the best option, or at least the fastest option?
  2. Single clip, IWB coupled with the fact that gun isn't made anymore and you really are limited. Bianchi still makes this for the 3913. http://www.safariland.com/products/holsters-and-gear/holsters/concealable-holsters/inside-waistband/model-6d-atb-waistband-holster-10860.html?dwfrm_holsterfinder_gunid=274516&dwfrm_holsterfinder_lightid=&dwfrm_holsterfinder_addonid=&dwfrm_holsterfinder_guntype=pistol&dwfrm_holsterfinder_manufacturer=Smith+%26+Wesson&dwfrm_holsterfinder_model=3913&dwfrm_holsterfinder_barrellength=3.50&dwfrm_holsterfinder_caliber=9x19mm+Parabellum&dwfrm_holsterfinder_haslight=&dwfrm_holsterfinder_lighttype=&dwfrm_holsterfinder_hasaddon=&dwfrm_holsterfinder_addontype=
  3. I haven’t got to see one in person yet, but I can’t see why they are $500 higher than the DPMS. I know they are a piston gun, I don’t have anything against that, but I wouldn’t pay extra for it.
  4. Domestic violence call, terrible. Two of my best friends were shot that way. Stay on alert LEO’s. prayers for the Officer and family.
  5. I disagree. From the 70’s to now I have owned several copies of Remington 700’s, 870, and 1100’s. In previous years Remington put out a lot more high gloss blues with walnut stocks. But they still make those today. Have you ever had a 870 American Classic WingMaster in your hands? They have added the budget line they didn’t have before. An 870 Express pales in comparison. However, that’s what more people want. It may not have the quality appearance of a Wingmaster but it functions as well and can stand up to torture of being used in squad cars by many Police Departments. I also have owned many 700’s. Currently I have a 2008 model VLS heavy barrel in .308. No high gloss bluing or walnut stock, but it’s a tack driver. I haven’t Bubbed the trigger so I’m sure it will only fire when I pull the trigger; just like the other 5 million 700’s out there. After all it is the most popular bolt action rifle in history, and usually the first discussed when someone wants a bolt action. After selling off all my shotguns years ago I decided to get back into it again. Last weekend I bought a Remington 1100 Competition Synthetic. I haven’t shot it yet, but the quality appears to be as good if not better than anything I have had in the past. I’m a fan of all the American gun manufacturers Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Remington, DPMS, Savage, etc. And I wish them all the best, because when they shut off the importation of guns; they are all we will have. That doesn’t worry me because I don’t buy foreign guns, as long as our manufactures here stay strong. I wish them all the best, and I support them, so we do have quality choices. I would never buy the R51; it’s not in the proper caliber yet. But I also would never carry a gun in my pocket. So it doesn’t matter to me, but it’s good to see that option. I’m getting ready to buy another 308 AR. Looks like it will be another DPMS, because as much as I love Smith and Wesson and Remington they are not listening to their customers. (Unless you count DPMS as Remington) Great to be able to do that isn’t it?
  6. Wow, No love for Remington? They made a mistake and they did what was right. They offered a full refund to anyone that wanted it. I hope to see them get more into the handgun market and wish them the best of luck. As far as the 700 and 870… both of those own the markets they are in.
  7. Has anyone ordered a gun on-line from them? How did it go? They have a pretty good price on a gun I am looking at.

    Jury Duty

Rutherford County uses drivers license lists. I have only been called once, and it was by the Feds. http://circuitcourtclerk.rutherfordcountytn.gov/faqs_jury.htm
  9. It’s not a firearm in this state as far as possession goes; but I have heard it is in some states. I don’t know for sure which ones though. If I remember right there is something about 10GA vs. 12 and the ability to shoot a shotgun shell; with the ATF.
  10. It just depends on how deep it is. Stainless is pretty easy to fix because it doesn’t have a “finish” applied to it. You just have to work the surface while keeping the surface smooth and level. If you can’t really feel them I would use a soda blaster or very fine glass bead (NO SAND) blaster, if you can get access to one. Then see how it looks. If not, start polishing, just keep the surface smooth. It doesn’t sound like it will take much. I have to ask… you are sure it stainless and not nickel plated?
  11. I didn’t mean it to be a personal attack; sorry it came off that way. I edited the post.
  12. No I don’t. An armed robber isn’t going to check ID’s because he doesn’t care if you are a cop or not. It doesn’t matter whether you are a plain clothes cop, uniformed cop, security guard or private citizen with or without an HCP; if you get to that gun you have the ability to kill him or send him to prison. So unless you are waving your hands in the air surrendering and dropping to your knees; he has a second to deal with that threat. If you follow his commands he may left you live; if he thinks you are going for that gun; probably not. Or he may just kill you because he really doesn’t care. Don’t get me wrong. I could not care less if you open carry. Better you than me. I am not suggesting the legislature deal with it. We are just discussing tactics.
  13. As a Police Officer I was trained that walking into an armed robbery will get you or someone else shot. A friend of mine did just that on a hold-up alarm because he thought the perp was gone. He wasn’t; he took him hostage and shot him with his own gun. Getting shot because you are carrying a gun isn’t an opinion it is fact. Here is my proof. https://www.odmp.org/
  14. I don’t think the state will do away with carry permits if they pass Constitutional carry laws; that would just be free money to them. We all want to see Constitutional carry. I just happen to be one of the few that won’t stand by and watch the rights of property owners be trampled in the name of 2nd amendment rights when this state does not recognize those rights. You can’t buy rights. Just because we paid the state money doesn’t mean we have any more rights or are any more qualified than those that can’t pay it. Mississippi has a list of places you can’t carry without a permit. Schools and churches are on that list. According to this story they still allow private businesses to post and it is a criminal trespass or weapons charges for a violation. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/politics/2016/05/14/mississippi-gun-laws/84164140/
  15. I have big azz magnetic bases for dial indicators with on/off switches. Sometimes they work great for things other than their intended purpose.
  16. You want proof that if an armed robber sees you with a gun he will deal with situation?
  17. The question was “Is it OK to dry fire weapons??” The fact that you want to do it doesn’t change the correct answer to the question.
  18. Or a group of gang bangers decide they want that Glock with the big azz magazine; they will take it.
  19. That Liberty Silver Dollar is cool. Wonder what the story is behind that? EDIT: Did the guy that had that shotgun look like he was 82?
  20. The law you are talking about specifically exempts a gun in a vehicle. So who walks on a school campus armed and not knowing they are breaking the law? The intent of the Tennessee legislature appears to me to make it a serious crime if you do that. I want to see Tennessee become a Constitutional carry state. Gun rights are for all the people; not just HCP holders. I have a Tennessee HCP but thankfully the cost and jumping through the hoops was no big deal for me; but for many people it is. HCP is not the issue with carrying on school grounds; carrying on schools grounds is the issue. They don’t want you or anyone else doing it. I doubt that will change for anything other than maybe Colleges.
  21. I agree. It reminds me of the picture someone posted of a guy with a rifle on a shoulder sling that was pointing at the person behind him in line at the store. (In a state that allows open rifle carry) I don’t care who you are or how well you are trained; sweeping someone with the muzzle is not acceptable. I feel the same way about open carry in an unsecured holster; it may not be illegal but it’s a rookie mistake.
  22. Do you have that and use it? Do you put a laser in your own gun or use one of their laser guns? As many ND’s as there seem to be anymore; I bet some of the stories on repair quote requests they get are pretty amusing.
  23. I don’t think Glock is the whipping boy of the gun industry; some of the owners are, but they made that choice for themselves. They don’t think there is any choice other than Glock. That’s fine for them, but many of us (like me) wouldn’t walk across the street to get a Glock for free if we had to keep it. They became as big as they are because they were cheap and had higher capacity. They weren’t bothered with things like safeties that worked or accuracy. U.S. manufacturers didn’t jump on the cheap Tupperware gun market for years. Their first attempts were not good. Now that they have; they will dominate it and give us what we want. Glock can stay where they are and die. I have several M&P’s. In my opinion their quality surpasses a Glock. But to me they are tools; carry guns. They certainly aren’t my favorite guns to shoot and no Tupperware gun would be my choice for accuracy. [Mark Cuban Voice ON] It’s good to see Glock has moved to whatever iteration of the same old song this is, but ……I’m out [Mark Cuban Voice OFF]
  24. Save your money up. I doubt that there is anything that is going to pay out more than you pay in. I’m in the same boat you are; we are too old to be shopping for insurance. That boat sailed a long time ago. I have an estate that is worth some money. It won’t be a burden on whoever gets it; so they can bury me.
  25. Use it. Then maybe you can get it on “What’s that noise?” on the radio.
