That will probably fix the problem; they will probably send you a new LPK. Sounds like an issue with the hammer, disconnector and disconnector spring. Do you see any burrs or anything unusual where the hammer engages the disconnector? Is the disconnector spring the proper one, and seated?

That’s not the NRA. That’s a NRA member giving his version of a story from Bearingarms.com that is claiming it was a Barrett M95 not an “assault rifle”. Fact checking….
-
Of course they were. Good grief; they will never be the same. Haven't we seen this same story the last few years at Christmas?

Depends on the application. The C.O.R.E lets you add an optic without removing the sights. (some optics will co-witness) The “L” gives you a longer barrel. The Performance Center” gives you a little smoother gun than the standard production line models. The application for mine is a paper puncher. I personally wouldn’t use one (optic) for a carry gun; but you could. This will be the first 9 I’ve owned in over 25 years. I have a full size, compact, and Shield in 40S&W. So I really won’t know how it compares to a standard 9. I really wanted a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro for an optic. But Leupold is sold out of the adapter plates and don’t know when they will be back in stock. So unless I run across one of those it will probably be the Vortex Venom for the time being.

Good luck with that. I just ordered a new M&P PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P9L PRO SERIES C.O.R.E. Should be here Tuesday.

It doesn’t appear the intent is for you to know; it appears the intent is for you to comply with a sign whether it meets the requirements of subdivision 3 or not. At least until January 1, 2018. If you took it before a Judge my guess is you would be ask if you were confused about the meaning on the sign. Then the owner of the property would probably be questioned about when and where the signs were placed. However, based on what we have seen posted on this forum the likelihood and anyone being charged with carrying past a sign is less than winning the lottery.

With my background I look at it this way… Most businesses do what their attorney’s tell them to do. They are the deep pockets and it is their right to try to protect their business and family from the lawsuit that will surely follow an ND or a shooting where an innocent customer is killed. Posting may not stop them from being sued; but it may help if a settlement is being negotiated or punitive damages are being awarded. I understand this. I also understand that my state does not recognize a right to carry a firearm; that is abundantly clear. So any attempt by the state to cause a business owner to have to allow our special group (HCP holders) some special privilege that the rest of “the people” do not have is ridiculous. I look to see if there is a posting on the door where I enter. If there isn’t I continue on, if there is (even a gun with a slash through it) I leave or don’t carry. Will I boycott a business that is posted? Of course not. I hate to see businesses that are not involved in this getting caught in the middle and have to pick a side. It’s ridiculous. Unless it’s a gun store I doubt there are any businesses where this would impact them one little bit. However, I have nothing against the guys here who boycott those stores; they are doing what they believe in. So who is the bad guy here? Why the state of course. They are the ones allowing you to be charged for walking past a sign. Being a Constitutional carry state is like being pregnant; you are or you aren’t. And we aren't. I get tired of hearing “Baby steps” I think it’s a cop out by those that are trying to soak us for money. Our next move is Constitutional carry; the baby steps are done.

http://www.fool.com/investing/2016/11/26/the-5-best-selling-handguns-of-2016.aspx If you were going to write a gun story wouldn’t you do some fact checking? The Shield was introduced in 2012; they are talking about the full size. Again… the full size. Good to see S&W at the top of the heap though.

Welcome to the forum. I spent a year in Bremerton (in the 70’s) when my ship went into the yards. I thought it was beautiful country, but there sure was a lot of rain.

I don’t guess I’m going to be able to get a Leupold Deltapoint to fit my new M&P C.O.R.E. So I’m looking at Vortex. Anyone here familiar with the Venom and Viper? They are the same price and it appears to me the only real difference is that the Venom is available as a 3 or 6 MOA and the Viper is only available as a 6 MOA? So I’m a little confused. Are the mounts different? Also isn’t 6 MOA too big for a target handgun?
-
I’m not a hunter either. I own semi-autos and bolts in both calibers. I can’t imagine having to reduce my selection to one rifle, but if I had to it would be my .308 AR. Everything is application driven and the .308 semi-auto does well in almost any application from close in point instinct shooting to 1000 yard shots. (Provided the rifle has the accuracy ability to do that) I have never owned or shot a Saiga, I don’t know if it has the long range accuracy capability or not.
-
What’s the accuracy difference in those two barrels?
-
I like the looks of the Victory, but I might wait for a longer barrel.
-
No one. That’s why I don’t go deep in the woods.

10mm is a “designer round” (like the .45GAP and the .357SIG) that never really took off. The 40S&W is a mainstream round. The 10mm has a little more velocity and a little more energy than a .40; with a little more recoil. If you are comfortable with it, and want to pay the extra money; use it. It’s like the difference between the 9mm and the 40S&W. Either will do. Men generally use the 40 and their wives use the 9.

Jared, Welcome to the forum. If you are serious about your questions there are many here with a lot of experience that will help you; we won’t all agree. So I’m willing to participate in a serious discussion; I just find it an unusual post for someone’s first post. So back to you…. what calibers do you have experience with and what applications/scenarios are you concerned about?

Michael Hayden on the 2nd Amendment
DaveTN replied to MacGyver's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I’m not sure what he meant about tweaking the 4th amendment, but he was spot on that it would not help the lone gunman situation. Stopping someone that is acting alone and privately is almost impossible. Stopping someone that is openly making threats of violence is pretty easy; yet we don’t do it. The only thing that can stop an active shooter; is another active shooter. And when seconds count the Police are only minutes away. Both of those have been proven time and time again. -
Well I was all set to order the DeltaPoint Pro. But it appears it may not fit the M&P C.O.R.E; still waiting to find out for sure. If it doesn’t, what other optics have you had good luck with and would recommend?
-
eBay use to be a good deal (years ago). Now they are just another on-line retailer. I sure wish another service would start-up for private sales. Which has little to do with this; just a random thought.
-
I guess it would depend on what kind of threat you perceive. An expert marksman with a Mosin and cover might be able to take some people out at distance. But if I think I may become engaged in battle I’ll take accuracy and firepower over quantity of relic rifles any day. Take Afghanistan as an example. Sure, shooters with relic rifles take out some troops. But unless they can shoot and escape; they are dead meat. I don’t buy into the SHTF scenarios, but I’ve thought about an isolated incident where I might need to protect my property (Katrina, looters, etc.). My choice is a scoped 308 AR. It gives me the ability to take out a threat at distance, or multiple bad guys close in. Everything in life is application driven. That’s why there are so many choices in firearms. You will live or die with the choices you make.
-
That implies you will be in a battle. I would take one AR in 308 or even 223 over 10 Mosins, bolts, or even AK’s.

HCP Holder Road Rage Murder/Suicide
DaveTN replied to Garufa's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I kinda figured he commit murder, realized he screwed up and decided he would rather die than go to prison. Just a WAG though. -
Two juveniles charged for starting Sevier Co. wildfires
DaveTN replied to xsubsailor's topic in General Chat
I think I heard them say on the news last night that unless this goes to adult court; they won't be incarcerated past 19. -
HCP Holder Road Rage Murder/Suicide
DaveTN replied to Garufa's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
There are nut cases whose first instinct is to pull a gun when things don’t go their way; fortunately most of them don’t end in murder. Another story said witnesses told the reporter one guy was going to back into the other guy and he honked his horn. They didn’t say, or at least no more than that was reported. Ridiculous stuff to die over.
