  1. I don’t know what the prices are doing on semi-auto handguns, but I have been tracking prices on new S&W revolvers from GAG. With no change in MSRP throughout the year the price increases from January were, about 6% to 8% in May, 7%-11% in July, and 10%-18% in November. I don’t think we have ever seen increases like this in a single year from reputable vendors. However, only one gun out of five was IN STOCK in November, and it had the highest percentage. I suspect they keep the prices that are shown low on guns until they get them in stock. (But I don't know that be be fact) Buds doesn’t list a price if they don’t have it in stock; and they don’t have any of the guns I’m tracking in stock. Neither does anyone else.
  2. So true....and sad. I find myself trying to buy guns that probably won't be banned.
  3. Well now that the media is hyping all the boarding on windows, cops and National Guard on standby, and other safety precautions from cities and businesses expecting rioting; there is good chance it will happen no matter who is elected. Folks need big screen TV’s and sneakers.
  4. There isn’t any duopoly or hold on power. An independent has the same chance as a Republican or Democrat. Perot had a good run going, but he bailed. But to think that enough voters would leave party lines and elect an independent is pretty far fetched. Third party candidates are good for popularity contests or voters that want to make it clear they aren’t happy with either candidate. A popular libertarian candidate would pull a lot of votes from a Republican candidate. A popular Socialist candidate would pull votes from a Democratic candidate. If I was a Republican Presidential candidate I would hope a strong socialist could get on the ticket. Right now, I don’t think a socialist could be elected, but I see that quickly changing.
  5. Amazon has them for delivery the 8th. https://www.amazon.com/Walkers-Game-Ear-Protection-Enhancement/dp/B07BK7L26X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=GWP-SLCR-BT&qid=1604249526&sr=8-1
  6. I recently bought a set of Low Profile Walker Razor Electronic muffs because my others would get in the way of rifles and shotguns. They seem to work better, but I haven’t had a chance to use them much yet. And when I did, we were mostly shooting handguns. (Just in case that’s why you were looking at buds Leroy.)
  7. Exactly! I have Bluetooth headphones (for music) because I can’t keep earbuds in long. I went through a serious bout of my eras ringing last night. I guess I’ll be needing hearing aids soon.
  8. I have my Grandfathers Railroad watch. I wound it too tight and it quit working. I keep saying I’m going to take it in and have it fixed, but just never seem to get around to it.
  9. Ha, ha, ha...it works the same for those of us in the MidState and East.
  10. Click that link that says “Online Elgin Database” it lets you put in the serial number and gives you more info. The serial number is on the movement, not the case. I would think a Pocket Watch from the late 1800’s would be valuable.
  11. I try to buy & trade local, unless its on new guns. So I’ve never had much luck on Armslist. Here and GOC is my best sources. I see a lot of stuff I want available on GB. I haven’t used them yet, but I may try them out if its not a big hassle to have my local guy handle the transfers.
  12. They are still in the store, so the looters will still get them. Especially when cops are told to stand down.
  13. I don’t know… but are you drunk posting or just up early? EDIT: Oops, I forgot about the time difference…. so drunk posting.
  14. More people are staying inside due to the weather. Common sense tells me that will cause the numbers to rise. What they do with the numbers or how they do it has zero impact on my health. Do I think Covid is real and it can kill me? Of course. So I take the necessary precautions. I wear a mask when I go out and use hand sanitizer after I have handled something that could possibly have the virus on it. Do I think that will keep me from getting the virus? Nope, but it could reduce my chances. Do I think anything can be done by the government (no matter which side is in charge)? Nope, other than fast tracking a vaccine and throwing money at the companies that are working on it. But the government should not be telling businesses they can’t open. Homicide, suicide, domestic violence, and violent crimes that occur when income is shut off is as real as Covid.
  15. I suspect if Trump is reelected all this will go by the wayside for four more years. If Biden is elected I suspect this is just the beginning. I suspect the Dems will rehash hi-cap mags and everything else. They may even try a full AR ban. But I don’t think a Federal ban would make it through the SCOTUS; provided they would even hear it. It’s anybody’s guess though, mainly depends on who controls Congress. At some point the SCOTUS has to do their job; we have a recognized right to bear arms, or we don’t.
  16. That’s What I have been saying for some time now..... only he doesn’t need to submit it for determination if a DA wants to charge you. The ATF’s opinion does not matter. We were all happy to jump onboard with bump stocks and braces when we knew full well they violated the intent of the law. It wasn’t until I saw the disclaimer on the ATF website that their dumb azz decisions have no legal authority that I realized we were all in jeopardy. Someone’s about to be made an example of. It almost happened in Sumner County over a PLR-16, but the case was settled without going to court.
  17. I was trying to search for “scope” in the “title only” of the handgun section. I thought that before we could pick a forum to search in the “advanced” search? But I don’t see it now. Anyway… I went to the handgun forum searched “scope” and told it “this forum”. After clicking though two or three pages of topics, it stopped me and gave a time warning. I know there is some amount of time you have to wait before starting a new search, but I don’t remember that applying to going through results pages?
  18. It is my understanding if you have an NFA registered SBR (Tax Stamp) you can do what you want as long as you don’t change the NFA class. You are required to notify the ATF and have your form amended with additional configurations. If you are asking if you can put a stock and a long barrel on a pistol lower you bought, and built a pistol that isn’t an NFA registered SBR; sure if it is a legal rifle.
  19. https://www.atf.gov/firearms/qa/can-i-lawfully-make-pistol-rifle-without-registering-firearm
  20. If you have a rifle that is not NFA by Federal law, or even if it is, you are bound by the laws of the state you are standing in.
  21. My point was that you can certainly make that argument if you like; it’s a valid argument. But my opinion doesn’t matter, your opinion doesn’t matter, and a prosecutor, Judge or Jury is not bound by a ATF decision. As I’ve said many times before, if our 2nd amendment rights are partly based on us having the ability to protect ourselves from an out of control government; machine guns would need to be legal.
  22. There was never a gun show loophole. They just call it that because it sounds better than calling it what it really is; a ban on private sales. Anyone that holds an FFL is required by federal law to do a background check, no matter where they are selling. If someone is moving a bunch of guns; its up to the BATF to do their job and charge them. It’s not rocket science and it would be pretty easy to do. We all know people that are doing that, and if they ever start enforcing it; those people will be subject to arrest. But like anything else the BATF touches, its screwed up. They don’t want to put a number on it. Not much happens until one of the guns is used in a crime; then they could have problems. Things like the BATF approval of bump stocks and braces do not have the weight of law. The BATF explains that on their web site. That has the danger of leading people to believe they can’t be charged. Nothing could be farther from the truth. IMO Trump is not anti gun; I think that’s obvious. I just don’t think he’s a gun guy. But his son is, and he has the Presidents ear. And if you want to call him anti-gun because of that; so be it. But anyone paying attention has to agree that he is no where near what we are getting ready to see if Biden/Harris is elected. I do believe Trump will support the 2nd amendment to the extent he can. Machine guns should be legal, but that won’t happen. As far as the bump stock thing goes. The BATF shouldn’t have the authority to approve a device that turns a semi-auto gun into a machine gun. You can argue the letter of the law vs. the intent of the law all you like; but that’s up to either congress, to change the law, or the courts to interpret the law. Stephen Paddock proved to the world that a bump stock turns a semi-auto rifle into a machine gun. 60 people died and 411 were injured. Trump didn’t sign an executive order banning bump stocks. He issued a memorandum to the Attorney General instructing the BATF to do their job. The BATF changed the ruling.
  23. It’ll change. I have a fast ethernet connection and PC, and I sometimes get slow results. Then it goes back to normal.
