  2. A link to this story was posted in another thread. I thought it deserved its own thread. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2017/04/john-boch/springfield-armory-rock-river-arms-trade-opposition-to-illinois-ffl-licensing-scheme-for-carve-out/ Liberals are such idiots. This article.... http://www.chicagonow.com/reflections-chicago-life/2016/05/why-illinois-needs-hb1016-the-gun-dealer-licensing-act-and-what-you-can-do-to-make-sure-we-get-it/ makes a lame azz attempt at explaining why they need this. They claim it will take 20-40% of guns used in crimes (I assume that’s what they mean by “Crimes guns”) They claim that four local dealers supplied 20% of the guns found at crimes scenes. So I assume their “fix” for the problem is to close those four dealers. Do these morons think for one minute this will stop criminals from getting guns? They also claim that this won’t cause the price of guns to rise or any gun dealers to go out of business. That's ridiculous. Especially if some of them make legal gun sales that end up at crime scenes. They claim a lack of oversight because they apparently think that the BATF isn’t doing its job. I do not believe that if their stats are true, the BATF is not investigating and auditing these dealers. The President himself and the Attorney General of the United States are trying to address the murder rate in Chicago; I’m sure that has rolled downhill to the BATF. What they do not tell us is how many of these guns they recovered were improper or illegal sales; my guess would be very few if any. If they acknowledge the truth; that people in Chicago (and Memphis, and Miami, and LA, etc.) are shooting each other because of lack of jobs, a poor economy, and a collapse of morals and the family unit, they would have to do something about it. It’s easier to blame guns. As these poor economic and family conditions expand from the big cities to engulf the smaller towns and rural areas; we will need more guns to protect ourselves. It’s easy to say “It’s Illinois” or “It’s California”. But the fact is it’s a big problem for us all no matter where we live.
  3. Do you think it's because they aren’t now, nor have they ever been Springfield’s? Springfield makes quality 1911’s and rifles. The HS2000 made by I.M. Metal in Croatia was plagued with quality problems. Springfield didn’t have a low end line so they became the importer. I.M. Metal became HS Produkt, Springfield brought name recognition to a failing product. The HS2000 that no one wanted became a “Springfield” and all was good in the world. Not that there is anything wrong with that, if you can pull it off. But it’s just marketing games. Like Springfield using the name Springfield Armory.
  4. I have never needed any. But if I did I would post on the S&W forum. Sometimes users there will send you that kind of stuff for free or cheap to cover postage if they have it.
  5. I am in disbelief at what a set of factory Walnut Targets cost. I had to buy a gun to get a pair for my 19.
  6. I wouldn’t walk across the street to get a Glock for free if I had to keep it. I almost said that trigger was as bad as a Glock. But it truly was worse than that; if that’s even possible. I did get another 686 last night though.

Or just get it. Everyone needs a 617 revolver and they are one of the hardest to get without paying a stupid price.

If it’s stainless and looks like 686 only in .22; it’s a 617. They are 650-700 new. You might get a premium if it’s a 6 shot pre-lock. Post a picture of it.
  9. I own a full size M&P40 (My 2nd), an M&P40 C (My 2nd) and an M&P Shield. None of the triggers are anything to brag about, but I never considered replacing them; they were functional and about all I expected out of a Tupperware gun. Last December I ordered the first 9mm I have had in over 25 years. I wanted it for a target gun and was putting an optic on it. So I order the “Pro Series” and it said it was a “Performance Center”. What a POS. The trigger was like it was dragging across gravel and when it finally broke it was so rough it caused the gun to jump. It was worse than a Hi-Point. It made two trips back to Smith & Wesson. The 2nd time after I wrote a letter to the Firearms Director, I got a call from the customer support guy that said he just came from a meeting with the Firearms Director and he was going to fix my problem. Well…. He let me know in short order that was running Customer Service and it’s not the Firearms Director. The gun came back to me with absolutely nothing done to it. Performance Center my Butt. I do not believe that gun ever saw the inside of the Performance Center unless it was passing through on a cart. I notice they are putting “Performance Center: on a lot of their guns now. That name use to mean something; I don’t think it does now. Those who have been around here for a long time can tell you I am a Smith & Wesson fanboy. I make no bones about it. But apparently their Customer Support has dropped to the same unacceptable level as everyone else’s. I spent over $200 for the full trigger and some plastic tools from Apex and put a new trigger in last weekend. I haven’t shot it yet. It feels many times better than the original trigger, but I heard folks say it felt like a 1911 trigger. I like the trigger, but if it feels like your 1911; your 1911 is broke.
  10. The FFL in Georgia can do it....but you need to see if he will. They won't all do it.
  11. says it's in stock here... https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/32
  12. The news has been saying 36, 90, 92, 94. That just tells me no one has a clue of how many were killed.
  13. I wouldn’t be as concerned with that as I would be in fixing the problem. I would try to call Sandi Duncan at the TBI and see if the problem is a disposition. If it is, a VAF may or may not help you. Good luck, I know it was a big hassle when I went through it.
  14. Exactly. So what you should do is call your attorney and tell him three Security Guards are telling you that you have to get off a plane, let him know they look very serious and you would like to know if they can legally do that. I know for a fact that usually doesn’t work well on the street; I doubt it works any better in an airplane.
  15. What if someone posts "I'll take it"?
  16. What is it you are trying to post? Latter what?
  17. I was trying to put some firearms up for trade, but it won't let me without putting a price in. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to make up a price?
  18. Forward that email to Trump.
  19. And "Aircraft Grade"
  20. I didn't type FBI. You are confused and causing others around you to become confused.
  21. NICS didn’t deny me; they just showed a charge with no disposition; I had bought guns for years, even in Illinois and Florida. The TBI zapped me because they saw a weapons charge and had to spend 4 days both times to determine whether or not it was a disqualifier. It wasn’t, but until I got a disposition entered into NICS it was going to continue to happen.
  22. Because that is usually where the problem is if there is no disposition. Of course if there is a disposition and TBI thinks it’s a disqualifier; they make the call and that could be tough/expensive to overcome. The VAF link above is from an Attorney; here is a link about it from the FBI. https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/nics/voluntary-appeal-file-video
  23. Good for you. I think you will find you will get better treatment when you need something locally because you bought from them. I don’t understand the wait. I would have wanted to take it right then. You have to wait on your insurance man? I had to wait a year for my Harley. I was in California teaching a two week training class when my wife call and said “The dealer called; your Harley is here.” Man that was a long two weeks.
  24. Many of us have had this happen. From your description it sounds like there is no disposition listed for an arrest. The TBI was pretty much worthless in telling me what was going on. So instead of paying for a background check by the Feds; I applied for a C&R FFL. The BATF told me exactly what was going on and how to fix it. Over 25 years ago I was arrested for having a gun in my car in Illinois. The case was dismissed, but apparently that information never got to the Feds. I bought guns in several states over those years and never had a problem. The BATF explained to me that I would need to contact the Clerk of the Court where the case was and have the disposition submitted to the Feds. My daughter went to the Circuit Clerks Office where the case was and did that for me. They gave her notarized copies of the disposition to send to the BATF and gave her a second copy because they said I may need them again. They said they would resubmit to the Feds. I have made many gun purchases here in Tennessee since and not had a problem. Mine was a dismissal so I didn’t need an expungement. If yours was a conviction you may need an expungement. When I found out what it was I told the TBI that it was a misdemeanor and wouldn’t stop a purchase anyway. They told me that just because it was a misdemeanor in Illinois; that didn’t mean it was a misdemeanor in Tennessee and they would have to look at it. I didn’t want to pay for an expungement because I wasn’t convicted and it’s not something that makes the case disappear like many believe. But if you can’t get the original court to resubmit the disposition to the Feds, or the TBI has to take a look at your conviction; it’s something you may want to look into. I know you may think this is happening because Maryland is anti-gun; but I doubt that is the case. To correct it they don’t have to know you are trying to buy a gun; this problem could come up in a background check for a job. If it is possible for you or a family member to go to the Circuit Clerk (or Clerk of the Court, whatever they call it in Maryland) and have them resubmit it and give you/them notarized copies; I would try that first before I paid for an attorney.
  25. Then they weren’t an "expert". FOX brings people on all they time that clearly don’t know what they are talking about. Don’t you ever watch Tucker Carlson? https://www.transportation.gov/airconsumer/fly-rights
