  1. They charge for On-Demand first run movies, not for any movies channels or regular TV channels you have. You will see a price before you load the movie; if there is a charge.

    Robbed.

Did they crash through the doors like the other gun store burglaries? It’s kind of amazing that none of these guns have turned up or that no one has needed a plea deal and rolled over on these guys.
  3. I can’t make up my mind between the TR-3 SWAT and the Magic BR-1 "Whiskers" with a patterned bolster. So I’m kicking around the idea of ordering both and keeping whichever one I like. Of these two I think I would rather have the TR-3, but my concern is the blade opening in my pocket... hence the Magic. Has anyone had this happen with the “Magic”? I probably wouldn’t use the pocket clip, but if I did I would want “tip down” both these show “Tip up”. Does the Magic have the fast solid release the TR-3 is known for? The other knife that looks interesting is the SOG TAC-OPS. It’s $40 more than the TR-3 and the same as the Magic. Is the quality and deployment as good as the Protech TR-3? Any opinions would be appreciated.
  4. I have the X1 system, main box and two remote boxes (DVR). The remote boxes are $9.95 each.

  6. They have been talking about “Broadband Over Power Lines” for years. Maybe that will work someday.
  7. In all fairness to Comcast; they don’t have any competition. They also have government protections. That’s how they get by with the worst customers service in the industry and doing whatever they want. If competition was allowed Comcast would have to drop their prices. And if they did drop their prices to reasonable rates Direct, Dish, AT&T and all the rest would be gone because everyone would be on Comcast. I’ll have to get something else when I retire; I been a Comcast customer pretty much since they started. Of course they won’t care about that; they are more interested in giving deals to new customers than taking care of the ones that put them where they are.
  8. $10K cool? I don’t think so. I thought the same thing as Grayfox; one picture? It also says there are authentications letters; but it doesn’t say there is one with that gun. He also has three $100K Holland & Holland Rifles rifles in case anyone needs one.
  9. I’m sure sales are less than during the threat years, but I think they are probably okay. Prices on new are dropping at the retail level, so the manufacturers should be getting a lot of the sales that would usually be in the used market. The only thing I see moving in the used market is the collectables or those that have a truly used price.
  10. If she can’t handle the recoil of a heavy S&W shooting 38’s; she probably won’t be able to handle the recoil of a small 9mm.
  11. Weird… I looked on GB to see what these actually brought. There were some with $700 starting bid that never got a bid, and there were some with $100 starting bid that never got a bid. Looks like they have sold for as low as $196 and as high as $660. They made over a million of them and they were made until 1989. Not really collectable. If they made it today it would have to cost less than the 597; not sure that’s possible.
  12. Foreign countries didn’t bend us over during Katrina. That was our own good ole homegrown boys. And given the chance they will do it again.
  13. Could it be because when asked by the owners and bartenders if they wanted him arrested; they said no, just get him out of here? If there are no criminal charges, and the Sheriff wants him gone; accepting his resignation was about all he could do. Sounds like if there are grounds for charges; that may happen. He’s the kind of cop that gives other cops a bad name. He will be the next Departments problem unless they are aware of this incident.
  14. Back in the day we called that “Mutual Combat”. Either everyone went to jail, or no one went. Given that choice most opted for walking/limping away. Of course they can’t do that today…with our correctness and all, we can’t allow any kind of violence even when it’s mutual.
  15. I just put a Vortex Venom on a handgun. That’s probably what I’ll put on my AR Pistol when I get it. You can get them for under $200 on sale.
  16. Lapping the rings allows for full engagement of the rings at the proper torque value. This assures that the scope won’t move, and there won’t be marks on the scope. It also helps get a perfect alignment so the scope isn’t in a bind. As metal gets hot it moves. Having full engagement on the rings lessens the impact of this movement. So do you need to lap rings? Well, like everything that’s application driven. With quality rings that are set-up properly most of us won’t notice any difference. I don’t do it because I change my set-up around often. I also don’t get to shoot beyond 300 yards. But a 1000 yard bench rest shooter could possibly see better consistency through the temperature range. Like anything, if not done improperly you could mess up a set of rings. I wouldn’t be concerned with a warranty on rings because short of a ring breaking; any problem will probably be because of improper set-up and not covered anyway. However, everyone has their opinions. Just like mine about thread locker; if you have the proper fit you don’t need it. You also need to know if you are using it you are getting a “wet” torque. In tooling and die work we only use it when we have something we don’t want to ever come out. (And that’s rarely) BTW…. CNC machining is only as good as the programmer, operator, and set-up. Plenty of parts are made out of spec or scrapped.
  17. I have a TourGlide Ultra. But it’s a beast to ride around town. I like the new Heritage Classic; it would be my choice today.
  18. I was commenting on the article.
  19. They did that same thing a couple (few?) years ago when the KKK had a rally downtown. So if you protest against the removal of the monument to Confederate soldiers in the Fort Sanders area; you are a White Supremacist?
  20. Good for you. As long as you don’t crush the scope tube there shouldn’t be any issues you can’t correct. I would however recommend that you don’t use any Loctite; at least for now.
  21. That information didn’t come to light until the 1990’s. So it’s anyone guess as to why they didn’t get that info. Because of the classification of their mission it could have been that whoever would have passed that information to them; didn’t know they were there. But that just a WAG.
  22. If you want a budget rimfire the Remington 597 can be had from Buds for $165. They also have about anything else you would want. I bought mine years ago on sale at Bass Pro with a cheap RedHead scope. Mine is a tack driver. Sold it to my BIL and just recently talked him into selling it back to me. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/96550/Remington+597+BL+22+lr+Auto+Synthetic If want an air rifle, Walmart, Academy or Bass Pro sell a few. Or this place has them all on-line. http://www.pyramydair.com/
  23. Two Years ago I went to the NASCAR race at the Brickyard. We stay at the Hyatt Regency which is where they were holding the 70th reunion. They had a very large model of the Indianapolis in the lobby. I got to talk to a bunch of Navy old timers, but I don’t think any were the survivors. Having been in the Navy I was familiar with what happened to the USS Indianapolis, so I was looking for to the movie. (USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage) It was okay, but not nearly as good as I think it could have been. (Poor special effects and camera work.) Robert Downey Jr. was also supposed to be doing a movie about it, but I don’t see anything about it since 2015; maybe he gave up. I also went to Pearl Harbor in 2001 for the 60th Anniversary. I got to hear some survivors speak. I will never forget it. Unfortunately many young people today don’t know about our history and the only way they find out is when movies are made.
  24. Tools Needed: Allen or Torex wrenches (Wheeler FAT Torque wrench $45), two small levels Bolt the base on. Torque it if you have an inch pounds torque wrench. Loosely set the rings and scope for proper eye relief distance. Level the scope to the rifle. If you don’t have levels, do it by eye. Torque the ring caps. I have a laser boresight so I rough in zero with that. If you don’t have one just skip to the next step. Go to the range fire three rounds at the same point of impact without trying to compensate, adjust the scope, do that again, adjust the scope, Bullseye…done.
