  1. Yeah, its crazy. I appreciate the web sites that have the option to “show only what’s in stock”. Of course all the ammo goes away when you do that, but it saves time.
  2. Dang man, don’t start sounding like those Democrats over the last few days in the political threads.
  3. Never heard of it either, but there’s two for sale on gun broker right now; ones mint.
  4. Second Amendment Foundation https://www.saf.org/
  5. I have a standard 597 I bought 15 years ago. Bass Pro ran a sale on the one with the scope. They didn’t have any of those left, so they put a Redhead $40 scope on it and sold it to me at the sale price. I think it was less than $150. It’s the most accurate .22 rifle I have ever owned, and I’ve owned a bunch. It’s boring accurate. I haven’t done anything to it; I didn’t need to. All of my .22’s love the CCI Mini mag, its all I buy anymore. Good luck with yours. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have mine.
  6. Thanks, I'll have to check those out. They look like they may do the job.
  7. "Say It ain't so Joe!" "Yes, kid, I'm afraid it is," Well, I'd never have thought it." I didn’t forget Obama, and I’ve stayed in pretty good shape. I just didn’t have any reason to buy these calibers. I just never had a reason to reload, but the winds they are a changing. But from what I'm seeing on reloading components; that might not be much of an answer either. Just kicking the idea around. I think you may be right. I don’t think this will clear up as quick as the Obama non-sense did, but I hope I am wrong. Obama pretended to not want to violate the 2nd amendment, even though that’s exactly what he wanted to do. Biden makes no bones about it; he is crystal clear. Now it seems they think they may be able to take the Senate and have full control. As long as the state of Tennessee sticks we us; we may make it though this. If the state turns on us; anything can happen.
  8. Yeah, a family member texted me and wanted to know where I ordered my guns from. I told him, but said most don’t have anything. He texted me yesterday, he bought a Bushmaster AR with a low cost optic and 500 rounds of quality brass case ammo for $500. So there are still deals to be had.
  9. I know, I know…its hard to believe anything that comes out of Biden's mouth, but here is another fact based, no BS, message from Colion Noir….
  10. Ha, ha, ha… I know. I did not think this election would end the way it has. It’ll return to normal; I’ll just have to wait. I’m pretty much good on most calibers; just added two new ones at the wrong time.
  11. By the way… I’ll pass this on. A couple of days ago I was looking for some cleaning supplies and went to Hoppes site to make a list of what I needed. They have started a Veterans VIP Program for anyone that served. I signed up, but figured their veteran prices on their website would just be what they sell for on Amazon, I was wrong. You have to upload proof of service and it takes a day or two for approval. I put some stuff in my cart and went back in there today, after approval. I don’t know if it because its Veterans day, but their prices were excellent deals. https://www.hoppes.com/military-vip-form/
  12. I’ve never been able to justify reloading based on price. Could that be changing? Seeing (what use to be cheap range ammo) .223 FMJ at a buck a round or more is crazy. Then there’s the fact that I added .45 Colt, and may have snagged a 10MM revolver to add to the herd. I’m just giving it more serious thought, but I still don’t think I shoot enough anymore to justify the cost of quality equipment. I’m obsessive compulsive when it comes to Guns/Hobbies/Tools; I’ll have to have the best stuff. Of course, aren’t components pricing going to skyrocket, and have limited availability for the next couple of years?? Or maybe even longer if Biden can keep the fear going.
  13. Thank you to all of you that served. Have a great day. The bad news is…we won’t be getting any gun or ammo deals this year.
  14. Does anyone have a good recommendation for quality extra wide guns socks? Maybe something an AR with a scope would easily slide in and out of. I bought one years ago that said it was for a scope rifle. But my Remington VLS won’t go in it with the scope on. I’ve even looked for soft treated material to make my own; not much luck there either.
  15. Statement from Ruger about Marlin.... September 30, 2020 Sturm, Ruger and Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) announced today that its offer to purchase substantially all of the Marlin Firearms assets was accepted by Remington Outdoor Company, Inc. and approved by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Alabama. The Company will pay the $30 million purchase price from cash on hand at the time of closing, which is expected to occur in October. "The value of Marlin and its 150-year legacy was too great of an opportunity for us to pass up," said Ruger President and CEO Chris Killoy. "The brand aligns perfectly with ours and the Marlin product portfolio will help us widen our already diverse product offerings." The transaction is exclusively for the Marlin Firearms assets. Remington firearms, ammunition, other Remington Outdoor brands, and all facilities and real estate are excluded from the Ruger purchase. Once the purchase is completed, the Company will begin the process of relocating the Marlin Firearms assets to existing Ruger manufacturing facilities. "The important thing for consumers, retailers and distributors to know at this point in time," continued Killoy, "is that the Marlin brand and its great products will live on. Long Live the Lever Gun." Additional information will be released when available. Sign up for our email and newsletter list to receive notifications along the way. For additional information, view our FAQs section. .............................. Q: When will I be able to buy a Marlin manufactured by Ruger? Once the sale process is complete, we will begin the process of relocating Marlin Firearms assets to existing Ruger manufacturing facilities. Sometime after that, we will begin setting up production for new, Ruger-made, Marlin firearms. Our hope is to begin producing Marlin firearms sometime in the second half of 2021. Our intent is to keep true to the Marlin brand and ensure that its 150-year history and great products live on. Sign up for our email and newsletter list to receive notifications along the way. Q: What are Ruger's plans for Marlin? Will Ruger continue to manufacture current Marlin models? Once the sale process is complete, we will begin the process of relocating the Marlin Firearms assets to existing Ruger manufacturing facilities. Sometime after that, we will begin setting up production for Ruger-made, Marlin-branded firearms. Our hope is to begin producing Marlin firearms sometime in the second half of 2021. Our intent is to keep true to the Marlin brand and ensure that its 150-year history and great products live on. 16. Yeah it looks like they have fired everyone in NY, laid everyone everywhere else off, and are removing equipment from Huntsville. Probably be like Winchester, move everything out of the country, and then market it under the Remington name. If I’m not mistaken the import of firearms can be stopped by executive order.
  17. Looks like just when we need American Gun Manufacturers the most; everything at Remington is being closed. Guns are gone from their web site; nothing but ammo.
  18. Anyone seen great deals on quality knives yet? Or are we even having a Black Friday this year?
  19. Why would that matter? Not arguing, just curious. It can be traced back to you when you do it here in a private sale. There’s no anonymity on the internet. There isn’t any law that you have to be able to show the disposition of a firearm if it is traced back to you, unless you hold an FFL. I wouldn’t give any information to Armslist and I’m surprised they want it. If they weave themselves into the sale they run the risk of being a dealer or facilitating an illegal sale if things go wrong. I wouldn’t think buyers paying would become the norm, there will always be someone satisfied with the advertising and sellers money. But if what I’m seeing today unfolds as it appears its going to; this will probably be a non-issue shortly.
  20. This ^ I think the sellers and advertisers should be footing the bill for the sites; not the buyers. I don’t think that dog will hunt. I also think Armslist is committing suicide; but the buyers will determine that. We have at least two clear options here for buyers to contact sellers with no charge to them. But I do agree that you shouldn’t try to rip them off. Don’t even go there and give them clicks. If nothing is moving the “Sellers” will get tired of paying for nothing and things will change.
  21. I don’t know how many guns have been sold, but the FBI says over 32 million firearm background checks have been done, as of Oct 31. Which really isn’t that much of an increase over the last 5 years. Of course, if I remember correctly they have said before some states run checks on permit holders every year, which jacks that number up. https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/nics_firearm_checks_-_month_year.pdf/view I know I’ve been checking all the gun sites and there just isn’t much of anything available. I wonder how impacted production has been by Covid. Businesses don’t like to say much about that. I know I saw a story that part of Smith & Wesson was shut down for awhile in March.
  22. Well then.... I guess things can only get better for you.
  23. Possibly. A couple of things that might stop that. Without Republicans defecting in the Senate, they can’t do it. Also, the remarks RBG made prior to her death against it may carry weight with some Democrats. Most Americans, including Democrats, don’t want their guns taken away and it might be political suicide for those that support it. But sure, it might happen. I think its more of making claims they know they can’t get done; just to be able to throw their hands up and say “we tried”. I suspect Biden (if God forbid) he gets elected may try to protect the Democrats by trying it though Executive order. I don’t think that will fly. But then, I would have never thought That Biden/Harris could be this close to a win in America. So my assumptions could clearly be flawed.
  24. As we have seen, states can do pretty much anything they want. But if the fed tries it; it will go the SCOTUS. Now how long that takes, or if they decide to hear the cases are anybody’s guess.
