Have they started building yet?

How do I know if mine are “deadly”; is that stamped on them somewhere?

This is the same goof ball that threw a tantrum about Sherriff David Clarke’s uniform. He doesn’t seem to know much about the issues he writes about. He talks about becoming comfortable with killing like he’s a hardened combat vet. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t appear he was in combat. It’s a shame an idiot like this can try to drag everyone through the mud just because he isn’t feeling real good about himself.

A couple of other places you might find helpfull... http://www.arrl.org/ https://www.eham.net/

Looks kind of interesting with the detachable magazine option for my 700 VLS. But I don’t know if I want to spend ~$300 on a plastic stock. Anyone tried them out yet?

Bipartisan deal on gun control unveiled
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As I have said before; I don’t have a problem with background checks. But I don’t see either side getting on this “mental Health” train. Is anyone that has been diagnosed with PTSD going to lose their gun rights? How about those prescribed drugs for stress or depression? Not very many “mental health” problems go through the courts. Yes, we now have a shooter that should not have been able to pass a background check; but did. Would that have stopped him from getting a gun? I doubt it, but that just a wild azz guess based on the fact that he could certainly get one in Tennessee no matter if he was a convicted wife beater or a convicted murderer. -
S&W is making the 986 in 9mm, but its an L-frame. Too big for a 2.5” IMO. Ruger is making the LCR and SP101 in 9mm. Either of those would be small.

The 1893..... that - Didn't- get away!

Thanks for that info. That’s crazy that someone would keep firing rounds that were “exploding over the magazine”. I guess the guy is lucky he didn’t get hurt. -
Looks like they got another store...On Target this time.

I think gun sales on the internet forums are down because people are buying new. There is no new gun shortage and the used market is still trying to hold new price. I been trying to buy a couple of guns and haven’t had any luck. When the used price is at or above Bud’s new price; it’s a no brainer. I think used sales will pick back up, but it may take a while. Here are two articles one saying this year could possibly pass last year (the biggest year ever) and another blaming Trump for a gun sales slump. But they both acknowledge this will be a good year for gun sales. http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/2017-is-second-biggest-year-for-gun-sales-ever-might-top-2016/article/2627883 http://fortune.com/2017/09/11/trump-gun-sales-decline/ -

Maybe I’m alone on this, but as I have said before I would rather have a gun stolen from my car than my laptop; they are cheaper and easier to replace. My vehicle is locked; they can’t take anything from inside it without committing burglary. I feel no special responsibility to go any farther than keeping them out of sight and locking my vehicle. They are criminals; not me. I am a law abiding citizen. I don’t want to pay the extra money for a gun shop to modify their building or buy enough safes to lock up every gun in the stores. I won’t do it. There are plenty of things that could be done to catch this crew that we don’t need to go into here, but as a former cop I have an idea; catch them. I don’t believe my gun privileges or my gun rights will suffer because of people stealing guns. But hey, I could be wrong. It’s just the way I feel. Gun stores are the victim here. -

That got my attention, the only budge in a bore I have seen was from a second round fired into a squib. Are you describing something different? Good luck with the project. That wood looks really nice. -
In Illinois so are supposed the check their FOID status. https://www.ispfsb.com/Public/Firearms/FOID/PersonToPersonFirearmTransfer.aspx Of course there is no logic or reason to the debate. If you have money, someone will sell you a gun no matter what state you are in or where you are from. Most narcotics are a felony to sell. But it’s obviously not hard to find a seller.

With churches obviously being targeted its good you are thinking about this. Cameras and early warning devices are a great idea. But have a plan for when they alert you to the fact you have a heavily armed shooter coming through the door. He has the element of surprise and if he takes out your security guy at the door; you need help. I would suggest multiple members at different locations. Maybe even a rifleman in a room the members don’t have to see. Certainty you don’t want to have a gun fight in a crowded room. But once it starts only a shooter can end it. It’s sad you have to be prepared to kill someone in church; but that’s the way it is right now.

Disarming HCPer during traffic stop without notification
DaveTN replied to Volphin's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
A Police Officer has to be able to articulate his reasons for pulling his weapon. If he felt he was in danger; that’s pretty easy to articulate. I’ve been involved in felony stops. My weapon was drawn and at the ready. It may not have been pointed directly at them, but I bet when they told their story it was. If I walked into a domestic violence call and was met by a family member saying “He has a gun” (it's happened) we weren’t having any conversations about whether or not he was legally armed. Not until he was disarmed. I see no reason to disarm someone on a traffic stop for speeding. But traffic stops can quickly escalate into something more. The Officer may see something that’s changes everything. We don't always get the whole story. -
Disarming HCPer during traffic stop without notification
DaveTN replied to Volphin's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I figure my chances of being shot by a cop because I’m carrying are zero. I figure my chances of having a cop point a gun at me are the same as any other citizen; armed or not. That could happen without any input from me, and without me (or anyone else) being armed. -
It’s been two years; they aren’t sending you anything. Didn’t they offer you a shipping label to send it in? I would do that; I doubt they will just leave it sitting there. Instead of calling you might try writing a letter to the President. I did that with Smith & Wesson and got an immediate response. CS called and said the Director of the firearms division called them into his office and said to fix the problem. They never did, but at least I knew it had gone as far as it was going and was over.

Yes, when they say they want to outlaw the “gun show loop hole”; they want to stop private sales without a background check. It has nothing to do with a gun show. They want to stop us from selling to each other. Guns used in crimes may come from anywhere. Most of the shooters in mass killings have purchased legally.
-
FFL Dealers are already required to do background checks, and when I have bought anything at a gun show they have. It appears to me they are just trying to limit liability and still be able to have the gun show. http://www.commercialappeal.com/story/money/business/development/2017/06/23/nashville-ejects-gun-shows-agricenter-still-hosts-them/419939001/

I have no problem in having a discussion about background checks with anyone. Like most Americans; I have no problem with them. However, I think if background checks are made mandatory; they should be free. They aren’t going to do anything one way or the other, so they shouldn’t be a payday for the state, Feds, or gun dealers.
-
Also I don’t think we are in a position to have to negotiate. More and more people are understanding the only way to stop an active shooter is with another active shooter. Laws are changing for pro carry, not against.
-
Where is the mental health information going to come from? What criminal gray areas? I don’t have a problem with back ground checks, and have zero concerns about someone coming to get my guns. Other than people thinking it will stop a criminal that is set on killing someone from getting a gun. Background checks would not have stopped most of these mass murders from buying a gun. Now we have a guy that shouldn’t have been able to legally buy a gun and that is the problem?
-
Well not only do you have the scammers that think you are as stupid as they are, you have the data miners. They usually ask some silly question to make you think they are interested, and then ask you to reply through text. They have your email address, they want to put a phone number with it, a name would be great, and an address would be a home run. I don’t do texting until we are close to a deal.
-
It doesn’t appear (to me) that anyone is trying to hide anything. No one (other than the good guy and witnesses) is going to speculate on what happened. The good guy needs no protection.

I’m not asking if he has tried every case. I’m asking if he has tried one? Yes, I’ve Googled him as I’m sure many others here have.
