https://www.maxim.com/gear/jesse-james-reveals-gun-for-trump-2018-1 I didn't know Jesse had a Firearms Company now... http://www.jjfu.com/

Thanks Mike, any particular reason you used an Anderson instead of a PSA lower? Have you been happy with what you have from PSA? Right now all they have available at PSA for pistol kits have an A2 sight post; I don’t want that. Any other places you guys recommend I should look for full kits?

I’m kinda thinking I might need that M&P Compact 2.0 also. But I have several M&P’s now.
-
I’m kicking around the idea of building an AR pistol. I’ll probably just order a complete kit (less lower of course) from PSA. I would like it all to match (finish). Are there any lowers that match the PSA stuff better than others? (Other than PSA lowers) I'll probably try to find a lower locally.

I’d like a Model 41, but not the $1200 price tag that goes with it. I’d like to try the Victory when they offer it in a longer barrel. Until then my 6” 617 will have to do.

I had a new model 39 and Belgium Browning Hi-Power around the same time in 1978. Other than 1911’s they were my first semi-auto center fire pistols. I wish I had them both back. The 39’s are being priced in a range I would pay (but they are in other states); the Belgium Browning Hi-Power’s are not.

Under what conditions would that conviction matter? Trespass is a misdemeanor that could involve jail time, carrying past a sign is a misdemeanor that is fine only.
-
I also might just build an AR pistol. Is my understanding that I can use any brand new AR lower that has never been used in a build, to build an AR pistol that does not require NFA non-sense correct?
-
I think you have one I'm looking for...a S&W Model 39.

Any gun really. I don’t even know what I want. Ever have those times that you have gun money burning a hole in your pocket and you can’t really find anything? It’s a sickness that comes with withdrawals. That is all….

When Jared Reston (a cop working off duty as a Mall Security Officer) chased down a shoplifter, I’m sure he knew he was going to be in a fight. I’m also sure he didn’t expect it to be a gun fight until he was shot. Then it was no longer a “shoplifting” case. I can’t make the judgment that someone needs more training whether they are a store employee, cop, HCP holder or unarmed private citizen because a criminal pulled a gun on them. I understand your point that people might need to stand by and be good witnesses, but that doesn’t mean those that choose not to do so are doing something wrong or are violating the law. When a criminal pulls a gun, and there is someone in the area that can make them unable or unwilling to fire their weapon; so be it. They should be protected not prosecuted. Would I stop a shoplifter stealing from Wal-Mart? No, but it’s because Wal-Mart is afraid of criminals and is okay with letting them have their way. I doubt I would even stick around to be a good witness.

Maybe... They are calling the shoplifter “the male” and the HCP holder a “Patron”. I believe that says the shoplifter jumped in the passengers seat and a third party (the driver) pulled the gun. But of course I could be wrong.

That’s a good idea for the Sheep, but I don’t think the Sheep Dogs will stand idly by while the Wolves take what they want. If that’s the “retraining” part I (as many others here I suspect) would fail miserably. I’m not saying that isn’t a good idea for you; I’m saying I don’t think this guy needs retraining unless it’s because someone pulled a gun, he fired a shot, and there isn’t a shot perp laying around.
-
Why? He had a gun pulled on him for simply asking a question. What “retraining” does he need?
-
Unless the person was armed I wouldn’t pull a gun on a domestic violence suspect. I would if they were using a weapon or thought they were going to kill the victim. I am clear in my own mind what the legal requirements are for the use of deadly force. I would not stand by and watch an innocent person be attacked because I fear the legal system; I don’t. There was a thread (I think it was here) once asking what people would do if they saw a guy stabbing his girlfriend in a car. (I think it was a news story) I was surprised that there were some who said they would call 911 and do no more. This is no different that the drama over people saying a cop shot a person over a joint or a traffic ticket; that is ridiculous. When the person was shot because they pulled a gun. Protecting yourself and your family also requires that you stay out of prison; know the law.

If that’s true they should have made the barrel longer. I had a $500 PLR-16 with a 9.2” barrel that was accurate at the ranges you would be using a SBR. With manufactures offering AR Pistols that don’t require the NFA drama; I would want go that route. Isn’t there someone making real wood AR furniture? -
If I’m reading the story right the shoplifter pulled a gun and pointed it at him. At the point a gun is pulled it’s not a shoplifting case anymore, and it doesn’t matter WHY he was approaching the guy. I would have shot him if I thought I could get off a shot off before he could shoot me. But yea, I wouldn’t stop them. If Wal-Mart won’t stop shoplifters I certainly wouldn’t get involved. The shoplifter with a gun was a violent criminal and the citizen was just doing what he thought was right. Whether it’s something we would have done or not; he did it and I support him. I just hope some overzealous gun hating DA doesn’t decide to charge him with something. If I’m reading the story wrong and a HCP holder pulled a gun to shop a shoplifter; I apologize.

You are correct that the cop will be the first one to make the decision about the sign. But this is a fine only offense; I don’t think they can cuff you and stuff you, can they? I assumed they would give you an NTA.

I like the looks of it. Although that doesn’t look like solid walnut (might just be the photography though). I wouldn’t want .300BLK and certainly wouldn’t pay $3k for it. -
My daughter was a school teacher that became a Probation Officer. At first she told me she wanted to work with juveniles. I told her “No you don’t”. She has worked with adults for over 20 years, but has seen what the Juvenile Officers have to deal with. Sometimes there are kids you think you can help; but you can’t because of the dirt bag parents. I saw it too many times as a cop. Our legal system gives criminals too many protections. And anytime you see “Zero Tolerance” it’s because someone is too lazy to do their job. They don’t want to do a proper investigation and determine who is at fault. School shootings (and other mass shootings) will continue. Your kids can probably tell you who is about to go off the rails in their school.

Any Outdoor Rifle Ranges in Nashville Area Accepting New Members?
DaveTN replied to 4Freedom's topic in General Chat
Terry Walden has a range in Manchester. It has a handgun range and a separate 300 yard rifle range. It’s unstaffed; you just have to get with whoever is there and work things out. The rifle range may be full on weekends. I heard that due to insurance costs it now requires a membership. ($125 a year I think) I haven’t been there since that happened. They also have HCP classes at a reasonable price. Terry Walden - Gunsmith and More 1862 Sixteenth Model Rd Manchester, Tennessee Call (931) 728-0223 I’ve heard good things about OK Corral in Woodbury; but haven’t been there. Rifle range only goes to 200. http://okcshootingrange.com/ Is a job or something the reason you are looking at living in Nashville? Hey, it doesn’t rain everyday here. You will have to get use to that. I lived in Bremerton.- 13 replies
