  1. They can’t let the dog loose because they (the handler) has to ID the suspect. If an innocent was in the area the dog could tear them up before the Officer got to the dog. Also the Officer doesn’t want to blindly send the dog after someone he knows is armed with a gun.
  2. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2018/04/22/at-least-3-dead-several-wounded-in-waffle-house-shooting-near-nashville-police-say/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.4d83e97eb8e9
  3. Mr Mayor, this man was unlawfully in possession of the AR. So obviously both he and his father were willing to break the law. The same as all other criminals that kill people. So your answer is to disarm law abiding citizens that are the very last chance our citizens have to live? I’m seeing the latest drug crisis is taking up a lot of time on the news. Possession of all of these drugs without a prescription is illegal; in most cases a felony. Other than having a brand new group of criminals to put in prison; how would outlawing guns be any different? Nashville needs a new Mayor.
  4. Check this out....
  5. I don’t want much… a thin (Don’t really care how long the barrel is) semi-auto Tupperware gun that has at least 10 rounds of .357 Mag.
  6. High Gloss hot blue is still available, but costs $200-$300 for a handgun. I had a local guy that did it for much less because I did all the prep and polish, but I don’t guess he is doing it anymore because I gave a few people his contact info and I never heard anything back. I thought about doing it after I retire, but it requires an FFL and doing several guns at once. I can’t get an FFL where I live.
  7. Yeah, if you have a mill or access to one an 80% lower is pretty easy. If you have to use a jig or a drill press you won’t save any money and will probably have suspect quality. Lowers are cheap.
  8. Because the price of the beautiful Belgium blued ones is crazy and for some reason people are pricing the ones made in recent years the same way. I had a Belgium Browning Hi-Power that has a fantastic high gloss blue. I sold it around 1980; what a mistake.
  9. You come up with what you specifically want. And we will all email the big boys and see if someone will make it.
  10. Scandium is a marketing tool more than anything. It’s aluminum with trace amounts of scandium added for strength. It could be used for guns in any of those calibers…aluminum is. You haven’t had issues with your semi-autos in that weight range because they take up some of the recoil in the action. My Kahr MK40 or my Shield 40 doesn’t have the felt recoil of my .38 steel J-frames. But as you see on here all the time, there are some folks that don’t like the recoil of a full size M&P or Glock in .40S&W Vs. the same thing in 9mm. So they certainly aren’t going to be able to deal with it in a compact; no matter what it’s made of, if it’s lightweight.
  11. Smith & Wesson Model 60 .357 Mag, Satin stainless that can be polished to a mirror finish if you like, 21.4 Oz, many beautiful wood grips and leather holsters available. Or the model 66 2.5” at 31.5 oz would be a contender if the weight didn’t bother you. Or a 2.5” blue 19. Or a…. It will probably be awhile before a super light material that can handle a good defensive round is used. But you never know. However, a super lightweight gun shooting a good defensive round will have recoil issues.
  12. I had a bullet set-back like that in a box of WWB once. I probably could have got a free box of ammo; but didn’t mess with it.

    Gas!!

Someone in Saudi Arabia needs a new palace.
  14. As it applies to getting an FFL? Unless something has changed very recently the BATF doesn’t require you to have a storefront. What has changed is that they are checking to see if you comply with state and local laws and zoning requirements. For example, I can’t have a FFL or a gun shop in my home in Murfreesboro because city ordinances specifically forbid it. You could get an FFL for your business if you meet all the local requirements in addition to the Feds requirements. If that isn’t what you were asking….sorry.
  15. I first saw one of those Field and Stream stores in Champaign, IL about a year or so ago. They had everything….and I mean everything. Very impressive except the prices were high. They won’t be able to compete with on-line retailers, so this latest action is crazy. Some of these stores seem to have CEO’s and Boards that are trying to put themselves out of business. I’m not worried about it though; there will always be places to order from.
  16. I doubt that one will pass. But you have one that makes it a class 4 that might pass. On a related note the Illinois State Supreme Court is primed to rule requiring a permit to carry off your property is violation of the 2nd amendment and therefore unconstitutional; they just need a case. They could become the next Constitutional carry state.
  17. Dick's Sporting Goods to destroy all unsold firearms http://www.foxnews.com/us/2018/04/17/dicks-sporting-goods-to-destroy-all-unsold-firearms-pulled-from-shelves-after-parkland-shooting.html
  18. It’s $23 with a sheath. Does it even have an edge on it when it ships?
  19. My first duty gun was a blue Model 19. Police price was $175. I shot on the PD pistol team in the early 80’s and tried three different Pythons; I bought them for $300-$400 used. Grab a gun is selling them for $669 + transfer fee, Buds is selling them for $706.58 plus a transfer fee. If you watch you can get them used for around $550. The problem with used is people putting a pre-lock price on them. However, there is a pre-lock on GOC right now for $625. I've seen 19 and 66's go for $500. You have to act fast when they show up, but they show up occasionally. https://grabagun.com/s-w-686-6-plus-4-357-sts-7sh.html https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/26266/S%26W+M686+Plus+7RD+357MAG%2F38SP+%2BP+4
  20. Is it American made? Some Springfield 1911’s are made in Brazil and assembled in America; some are completely assembled in Brazil. My American made guns hit where I point them.
  21. How time flies. I remember when $500 would buy two S&W K Frames or a Python with a basket weave duty holster and several boxes of ammo.
  22. I click on the messages icon in the upper right. It shows some conversations. If I click “Go to Inbox” it shows them all. I can click on any conversation and it shows all sent and received communications in that conversation.
  23. Yes, but what does the printer and the plastic cost? Also, when you get done; you have a plastic lower.
  24. I don’t see where the law is an issue. It’s legal to make your own lower as long as you aren’t selling them. Plastic lowers are non-starters when metal is available. 80% lowers and a jig would be cheaper, faster, better.

    Barrel Length

    That is the reasonable explanation.
