I don’t know anything about any of the Rugers, but there are two RPR’s in 6.5 & 6mm Creedmoore in Nashville for $850 & $950. I don’t know anything about either of them or the sellers; just saw the ads.

Usually 2-4 working days. But they don’t keep the info. You need to find out what’s wrong and fix it or it will happen again.

I’m not addressing his HCP; the responding Officer will have little concern about that. My point is that if you ever discharge a firearm or have to threaten someone with a firearm; stay and talk to the Police. They have discretion. If you are not there they have one side of the story. If I were the detail Officer on that call I would simply have Officers go to your house, arrest you, and book you, or go get an arrest warrant; whatever the law requires.

Steve Dickerson (R-Nashville) to Introduce Red Flag Bill
DaveTN replied to Garufa's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have no problem with that. But as Chuck says the devil is in the details. We don’t know what the details are yet. The Senates website does not show any bills sponsored by Senator Dickerson. Too many people cry out, act out or threaten violence with guns. They aren’t protected by the 2nd amendment and the majority of Americans do not want them to have guns. I believe a court hearing should be required; the person should be notified and allowed to attend. Just keep in mind this will be done in hours; not days. Yes, weapons can be seized by Officers at the scene (if cops are called), but if cause is not upheld they are returned immediately; no matter what the PD or DA’s weapon policies are. Of course the potential for abuse is great. But failure to act can be deadly. I’ve asked this question before and never got a good answer... can’t Tennessee law enforcement already do this without due process? If so, would this legislation help the person get Due Process? -
Even BATF Says ‘Assault Weapons’ is a Fake Term
DaveTN replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I couldn’t care less what the ATF has to say about this, or how many "white papers" they write. These are the same idiots that decided a bump stock didn’t violate the ban on full auto rifles. Arguing over the term “Assault Weapons” is silly. And to think the gun grabbers will call them “Modern Sporting Rifles” is just as ridiculous. Both sides know what those terms mean. As far as the public that doesn’t understand gun terminology, they see 50 people killed and 53 were injured in the pulse nightclub, 59 dead and 422 injured in Vegas; they don’t care what name you put on those weapons. You can bet that those that write legislation will be very specific in their descriptions unless they try to ban things like “all semi-auto firearms”. It appears the SCOTUS will be leaving these decisions up to the states. These bans can’t get through the U.S. Senate we have now. If they ever do; the SCOTUS will need to hear the case. I doubt that will happen, but you never know. If the 2nd amendment allows for the people to protect themselves from an out of control government; then we have a right to have fully automatic weapons. I don’t expect to see a Federal ban or that case heard at the Federal level in my lifetime, but some of you longer folks may. So far no Federal Court has upheld the right to have what they call “Assault Rifles”. I believe in States Rights, I believe that states and local government have the responsibility of law enforcement; not the Feds. So far the courts have allowed “reasonable restrictions” on the 2nd as they do on the 1st. I don’t think the SCOTUS will hear every case and decide if it’s reasonable. That’s good if you are in Tennessee; its sucks if you are in Maryland. -
Dashcam Video Shows Officer-Involved Shooting in Wildfire Evacuation Zone
DaveTN replied to volshayes's topic in General Chat
He was being stopped as a suspect in a double homicide. He failed to comply until he exited and pointed the pipe like a gun. I would have shot him. Until I read in the story that he had a pipe I assumed he was pulling a gun. He had ample opportunity to stay alive and he decided not to. There are a lot of bad or questionable shootings, but that wasn’t one. In the video Erik felt the need to post; the Trooper was charged, pled guilty and was sent to prison. -
Welcome. I do most of my shooting anymore in Illiopolis.

Tannerite was #1 of what I was thinking about. It’s a great thing for targets, but when you have idiots blowing up trucks and refrigerators with it….. It’s just a matter of time; the right person hasn’t got hurt yet. -
DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
DaveTN replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
No. They were probably as surprised as anyone they got approval without restrictions. Things get outlawed. I can think of a couple of other things that will probably be outlawed because of what idiot users are doing. I don’t either and I understand why most don’t want to fight it. A fight could end up with us not being able to buy any kind of aftermarket trigger. Screw bump stocks, they were a piece of junk that was an attempt to circumvent the law on machine guns; it didn’t work because the devil turned some semi-autos into near full auto rate of fire and killed a bunch of people. I don’t want to be stopped from buying aftermarket triggers because some clown at the BATF was asleep at the wheel. -
It will be interesting to see someone local say how this works out. I’ve read a few stories about it and most of them claim the drivers don’t make much over minimum wage after they figure in expenses. I’m sure that all depends on where they are, how many drivers there are in the area, and who is telling the story and why. I recently went to NYC and was tempted to use Uber, but since I have never used it I opted for a car service. I’ve never had a reason to use it around here. If you don’t have a rating is it hard to get a ride? Good luck with your new endeavor.

Would You Prefer Your Hockey Puck in .357 or .45 ?
DaveTN replied to volshayes's topic in General Chat
I saw that on TV yesterday. It just goes to show how little these people understand what it’s like to face an active shooter. they are making a joke out of it. -
2nd that. I did it on a Model 686. I used Happich Simichrome.

Some people on the left are so ignorant they think gun confiscation will get them elected. It shows that they are out of touch with their own base. When you start talking about confiscating guns you will lose the support of most Americans. After all, how are the criminals that call themselves antifa going to wage war on the right without guns? We all know some pretty far left liberals that want their guns. But it’s good these clowns that are making noise about running for President and other offices are going ahead and making these ignorant statements.

Video: Arkansas Police Officer Drums With High School Football Band
DaveTN replied to volshayes's topic in General Chat
That’s key. Many cops do that, they just don’t get the recognition the screw ups get. Good for him for doing that. -
Watching TV for me is a bigger hobby than guns. So I don’t see me cutting the cord anytime soon. But I’m certainly “digital”. Xfinity X1 is simply rock solid and bad azz. All the channels, DVR, On-Demand, phone, ~300Mbps internet. I wish the cost was less, but I just can’t give anything up.

Which scope for under $150
DaveTN replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Leupold VX-1 would be my choice. It’s probably more than your budget unless you find a sale, but I don’t think you will be disappointed. -
You just never know, Driver killed by droped concrete
DaveTN replied to RED333's topic in General Chat
This happened in Ohio. After pleading guilty to Murder or Manslaughter and being sentenced to DOC; their sentences were suspended and they walked away. When will we learn? https://abcnews.go.com/US/ohio-teens-suspended-sentence-dropping-sandbag-off-overpass/story?id=54302511 -
This wasn’t a case of gun violence; this was a case of domestic violence. It shows just how deadly a person having emotional problems can be, even willing to kill innocent bystanders on their way out. I have no doubt that this man had made up his mind he was ready to die. And once he pulled that gun, the only thing that was going to stop him was a second gun. Luckily for those in the area cops were there and engaged him quickly. Unfortunately he killed one of those Officers engaging him and an innocent woman getting off the elevator. This was a 32 year old grown azz man that was ready to kill because of a failed romance. Not just ready to kill her, but ready to kill anyone in the area. He had no criminal record and whether or not he obtained the gun legally; it appears he would have been able to. So was he a law abiding citizen? Absolutely not. He had a FOID card, carry permit, and at one point was a licensed security guard. However while training at the Chicago Fire Academy he was fired for his aggressive conduct toward women. He threatened to shoot the place up if he was fired. Officials were aware of his remarks but did nothing. Not even an entry in his record. Police were not notified. He chased a neighbor while armed with a gun. His ex-wife got an order of protection. Again, no arrest. The victim’s attorneys are going to have a field day with this and the citizens of the state will get to pay the bill. Two cases of threatening people with deadly force and no arrest. I was a Police Officer many years ago and we would have made an arrest in both these cases. Would it have changed things? Who knows, but it might have. When will we learn, we don’t need more gun laws; we need to enforce the laws we have. Threatening someone with a gun in Illinois is Aggravated Assault; a felony. This man should have been a convicted felon. Normal people don’t make threats to shoot a place up or to kill someone. Those threats can’t be disregarded as an emotional reaction or that they didn’t mean it. Arrest them, charge them, remove their guns, and if they didn’t mean it let a Judge or jury decide that and decide how it will be handled. Or…people can continue to call this “gun violence” and try to take the guns away from innocent people that need the ability to protect themselves, their families and the innocent people around them when one of these nut cases that the system has failed to deal with acts out.

MPD Director wants to roll back guns in cars
DaveTN replied to Capbyrd's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I left a loaded gun in my squad car when I was a cop. Had it been stolen from by locked squad would it have been my fault? Of course not. And as a private citizen it won’t be my fault if one is stolen from locked vehicle. Many people leave their guns in their cars because they go into work or places that don’t allow guns. But if something happens they still have a chance if they can get to their car. Asking or requiring me to lock it in a safe in my locked vehicle is asking too much. -
DOJ rules that bump stocks ARE machineguns
DaveTN replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm guessing you are correct. When the videos were being played there were plenty of experienced gun owners (some here if I remember correctly) calling that automatic weapon fire. The general public won’t care that those high rates were obtained by a device someone at the ATF deemed “legal”. It shouldn’t surprise anyone at all.
