  1. The obvious first; fuel, air, spark. If it was running fine, simply shut off, and won’t try to start, but has a fully charged battery; it sounds like an electrical safety has kicked in. something could have rattled loose, like maybe the safety that shuts the mower off if you raise up from the seat. How it shut off could be a clue. Did it shut off like you tuned the key off, or did it slow, stutter and die?
  2. Some of us (old guys) even remember a man that climbed into a capsule on top of a missile designed to deliver a nuclear warhead.
  3. At 3:17 PM today it has been 50 years since we heard those words. Vice President Pence gave a rousing speech today from Kennedy space center. Reviving the space program would be quite a feat. I’m sure we have the ability, but I question we can get anything done that requires the approval of congress.
  4. I’m going to go ahead and ask, because others have got to be thinking it also. Does that not make you think of “Don’t worry Sir; I’m from the internet”?
  5. You have made a transition to a Sheepdog. Or you may have always been one; but you now hold a position of one. Many people change when they work security or become a Police Officer. The priorities of you as a church member are different than those of you as a security team member. There is nothing wrong with that. But if you feel conflicted; pick one side or the other. Both sides are the “right” side. It’s just not worth trying that straddle that line.
  6. That’s ridiculous; get smarter friends. The M&P is a proven performer and you can get it new for around $500, even less on sale. No point in buying a garage build that you know nothing about. Don't do that until you are ready to tackle your own garage build. https://grabagun.com/smith-and-wesson-mp15-sport-ii-or-5-56mm-16.html
  7. I’d be surprised if anyone that can afford a lawyer has done time on possession of porn. Unless they were a major distributor. Most of the enforcement is geared towards finding those that are making it.
  8. https://grabagun.com/braztech-rossi-92357201-3-r92-lever-action.html you are welcome
  9. If it was advancing age (or wisdom) you wouldn’t be considering a 45-70 in anything.
  10. The most desirable to me would be a Winchester Model 94 made before 1980. I had one a few years ago in 30-30, but sold it because I really didn’t care for the caliber. A .357Mag would be nice. If I was buying something made today, I guess it would be a Henry. If you just want a range toy at a low cost, take a look at the Mossberg 464. In centerfire its only available in 30-30, but its under $400. Or under $300 in a .22.
  11. With that limited amount of info, my WAG would be that either he is negotiating a plea deal, the States/Feds case isn’t that good, or he is helping them bust other people. Is it a state case or Federal case? Cases can go slow when you have the money to pay a good lawyer.
  12. I don’t see any option that doesn’t require tapping. A side mount still has to bolt to something. I guess there could be one, but I don’t see it. Once the decision is made to drill and tap it; he could use whatever he wanted. I wouldn’t do that though.
  13. Years old or yards???
  14. They are catching on, especially for us old guys. I have a Vortex Venom 3MOA on a fullsize M&P Target gun and a BURRIS FASTFIRE 3 3MOA on a AR Pistol. I haven’t got to use the AR yet, but I took the M&P to the range and like it. I don’t really need sights of any kind on my carry pistols, so I haven’t tried them on any of those.
  15. Chuck, don’t trust that guy in that video, he closes his eyes when he shoots and at 10:30 he calls a 2” group at 7 yards “almost one ragged hole”.
  16. Now yes, but it wasn’t that way prior to allowing guns in cars without an HCP.
  17. Starbucks stopped it; to everyone’s satisfaction. Other than the snowflake and the employee that was apparently either a snowflake, cop hater, or just stupid. Business employees shouldn't have to deal with someone with a gun when their premises are posted. And most won't, they will just call the cops. Once that starts with the cops having no authority to make an arrest; you will have dirt bags doing it just to make YouTube Videos. Just like the clowns in Texas did with taking their AR's to the local Starbucks. I will have been here 21 years in September and I have never seen a step backward or any anti-gun loopholes. Tell us what you have seen. If you have a permit; you can carry most places…even bars. Since just recently you don’t even need a permit to have a gun in your car. Your carry permit covers loaded rifles in your vehicle, and you can buy and sell privately to your hearts content. The many years I have been on this forum I, and others have been told “Baby Steps”, we have to take “Baby Steps”. There are no baby steps left. We are at the point of Constitutional carry. But no, what are we worried about? We are worried about taking away the right of a business owner to ban firearms from his property and worried that we can’t walk onto school grounds armed.
  18. I don’t think that telling business owners that they can post their property, but it has no weight of law is an easy thing to do. Do you? I’m pro gun but I’m against it for several reasons. 1. it’s their property if they don’t want guns on it; so be it. 2. It’s arrogance on the part of the state. Unless they want to recognize a 2nd amendment right to carry they don’t get to act as a thug government on business owners. 3. Why are any pro gun legislators time or resources being wasted on this? No one has been charged with it. Move on to Constitutional Carry legislation.
  19. As a former Police Officer I can assure you that unless you start making unreasonable demands; you will not be seen as “problem” for the Police. Do you not have any cops in your congregation? If so you might want to fill them in on what’s going on and let them handle it. If not, and the problem continues you can have an Officer come out and let them handle it however they think best. Keep in mind a couple of things though before you do that. Cops aren’t social workers like they have been in the past. If he hasn’t committed a crime there isn’t much they can do except maybe refer you to some agencies that can help you. If a crime is committed and there is probable cause to believe he did he; he will likely be thrown in jail. Jail is not a good path to help….ever. Sure you will here stories about that happening, but most of them are BS, the real ones are very rare. You would know better than anyone here if his actions indicate a possibility of violence. But it sounds like a good possibility your church or some of its members are about to be victims of property crimes. I guess what I’m trying to say is that as a former cop I believe the pastor and the elders of your church are in a far better place to deal with this problem than the Police. The Police can’t fix broken people, all they can usually do is break then some more. I feel there is more to the story if they have given up??
  20. Very Nice. I’ve had Vettes most of my life, and enjoyed showing them, but haven’t had anything for a few years. Now that I’m retired I’ve kicked around the idea of getting something else. (Like a 68-72 Chevelle) But its not like it has been in the past; its serious money now.
  21. Darn it! No one said there would be a test. We don't know...we only know what color it is not....
  22. It already is, or that kid wouldn’t be at that church. But that doesn’t mean everyone stands on the sidelines and watches for a miracle to happen.
  23. You better get privy and you better do it before you act. I’m not trying to sound like a hard azz, but I would do exactly whatever your Church leaders tell you to do. They have been made aware of the problem and apparently decided they are not equipped to deal with it; so ask them what they want you to do when he shows up or who they want you to call that is equipped to deal with him. You can’t guess. Don’t put yourself in a situation you don’t need to be in.
