  1. I use S&R Pawn on Mulberry Street in Loudon.
  2. On 8/19/09 the Cherokee National Forest Public Service Group Staff Officer issued an internal memorandum to all their staff that stated the following with regard to the recent state (TN) handgun carry law changes: Quote "If you are asked may I carry my handgun in the Cherokee National if I have a gun carry permit? - the answer is yes." End Quote I have a copy of that memo.
  3. "Firearms" Is not what you what you should be looking for under your liability policy or the liability section of your home owners policy. You need to look for an "intentional act" exclusion. Arson is an intentional act. Shooting or striking an intruder is an intentional act. With respect to umbrella coverage, look for the same intentional act exclusion or a blanket clause that excludes anything not covered under your underlying policies.
  4. The latest Home Owners standard policy (HO-2008) provides coverage for intentional acts if in the defense of a person or property. This same policy also increases coverage for firearms (theft only) from $2,500 to $10,000. Anyone having their homeowners coverage written on the old HO-93 policy should check with their insurance agent/broker/company to see if they offer the new policy.
  5. Your welcome. The change was made after the Magtech burst barrel incident.
  6. The Ruger LCP is not rated for +P. The most up to date Ruger manual clearly indicates same. See page 11. http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/PDF/InstructionManuals/65.pdf Further, there has been at least one "Magtech" incident reported on the LCP forum. While I have put over 250 rounds of Magtech through my LCP without any problems whatsoever, it wasn't +P. Unless you are in to burst barrels and/or body piercing I would avoid using any +P in a LCP.
  7. My insurance company, USAA, charges $1.50 per hundred for all risk coverage on a replacement cost basis without a deductible.
  8. The following was copied from the U.S. Forest Service region 9 website (TN is region 8). I could find nothing similar on the region 8 website. What is interesting is the first sentence. Laws Regarding Firearms on National Forest Lands First, the primary laws governing possession of firearms and other weapons on National Forest are State Laws. These laws were developed by the states following establishment of our Cooperative Wildlife Management Agreements. Most notable of the state laws concerns controlling firearms on the National Forest are "cased gun laws”. Cased Gun Laws: As the name implies, this law requires that all firearms on National Forest be unloaded and kept in a case. Virginia and West Virginia have similar “cased gun laws”. In order to allow hunting, these laws make an exception. It is legal to have loaded firearms on National Forest during the authorized general firearms and muzzle loading gun seasons for bear, deer, grouse, pheasant, quail, rabbit, raccoon, squirrel, turkey, or waterfowl. This exception is very specific and applies only during the period when it is legal to take these listed species and doesn't include carrying the loaded weapons in a vehicle. Because hunting on Sunday is prohibited, carrying a loaded gun on National Forest is not legal on Sunday even if it is the Sunday in the middle of the general firearms deer season. The second exception to this law allows people with a concealed weapon permit to carry a loaded, concealed, handgun either on their person or in their vehicle while on National Forest. This does not apply if the person is engaged in a primitive weapons season or chase only season. People muzzle loading or bow hunting may carry a concealed weapon as long as they possess a concealed weapon permit. Discharging a firearm, crossbow, or bow and arrow in or across a road or within the right-of-way or any road is prohibited by both State and Federal Law. Any person convicted of a felony may not legally possess firearms on National Forest. Reckless use or handling firearms: It is a violation of both Federal and State law to handle any firearm in a careless and reckless manner or hunt while under the influence of intoxicants or narcotic drugs.
  9. Ordered a case of Fiocchi at 13.79 a box from Midway on 3/7. Just received an Email saying it was on the truck. Jack
  10. The manual supplied with T/C .32 Cherokee recommends 30 gr of FFF. 50 gr is the maximum charge.
