  1. I really like the feel of the new Glocks, but I don't understand why they won't put an extended slide release on them.
  2. Working here! Looks like a great shooter!

    1911's

    Awesome collection !
  4. I just got this yesterday and took it to the range. I purchased the following ammo to try in it, Magtech Sport Ammunition 454 Casull 260 Grain Semi-Jacketed Soft Point, Winchester Super-X Ammunition 454 Casull 250 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point, and DoubleTap Ammunition 454 Casull 360 Grain Wide Flat Nose. The Winchester 250 seemed to be the best to shoot, the 360 grain Double Tap is a beast and I doubt I will shoot it again as I think the recoil is ridiculous and I have not seen any elephants wandering around.
  5. I have heard that they have raised the prices on everything in there. I have talked to several people that are looking for large pistol primers and we all end know that they have them , but nobody want to drive up there and get overcharged. So we continue the search!
  6. I thought a disclaimer in the first sentence would suffice. I take it back, Mosin's are not junk...I just don't personally care for the! But an M1 not worth .50 seems more dangerous.
  7. I am not trying to offend anyone, merely wonder what other opinions are. I have a nice 1939 91/30 , but it is the last rifle I would grab to take to the range. I guess most people like them because they are cheap to buy and relatively cheap to shoot. Personally, I think they are Russian junk. I would much rather grab my M1 Garand or K98 to take to the range than my Mosin. Any opinions either way?
  8. +1 on the M1A, but if you are looking for a nice collectors pistol, these guys have some excellent guns...Jackson Armory | Inventory
  9. Thanks for all of the great replies. I used grease as opposed to oil on the slide and some of the internal parts and the rifle seems like it is easier to operate. I have not had a chance to go shoot it yet (hopefully this weekend), but I was able to get the windage fixed by adjusting and tightening the screws. I hope to post favorable reports after the weekend on the resolution! Thanks again for some great information.
  10. My fault...the right knob does not turn properly. I was shooting it backwards....
  11. I think it was Greek surplus. It fired just fine for the fist 8 rounds, then it started acting up. I also forgot to mention that I can't adjust my windage. When I tried to use the left screw it seemed to turn the elevation screw. That is an enirely different issue though....
  12. Good to know that you are for price gouging and better yet, you want God to bless price gougers....too much coffee this morning?
  13. I just got a M1 Garand and took it to the range yesterday and found some issues. I ran about 20 rounds through it and 4-5 rounds did not fire. The rounds have a mark where the firing pin hit the primers, but the round did not discharge. I was told by someone at the range that the ammo was probably okay and that I had a problem with a spring or firing pin. I took the rifle apart last night and it looked pretty clean, but I did not have alot of time to spend taking it down. I did notice that when I pulled the bolt back several time in trying to work the oil in that it would not always close properly, I had to slap the bolt forward on a couple of ocassions. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should be looking for? I thought about ordering all new springs for it from Brownells. but maybe one of the forum experts has a better idea..I'm all ears!!
  14. That sounds about right. I was wondering if I could find a used one in good condition somewhere. I may be better off ordering a new one from Springfield. thanks!
  15. Does anyone know where to find one at a fair price, or better yet, does anyone know where to find one?
  16. Thanks for some great sites to look for. I found a new one today that is somewhat higher quality and an excellent collection. It is definitely worth looking at even if I can't afford any now..www.jacksonarmory.com. I sure would like a trap door springfield....
  17. I really like Classic Arms and JGSales, thanks for the advise. I was under the impression that I could find all sorts of C&R rifles and order them with my C&R license. I have been looking in preparation and I have just been seeing Mosins, Mausers, and other of the same. Am I a day late and a dollar short as the old saying goes? Is this what I can expect to see in my searching? Forgive my ignorance, but I thought I would be able to get some really cool guns at a decent price. Maybe it is the political climate....
  18. I love my G22. It fits my hand and shoots great! I also have the G30 and G17. Easy to shoot, clean, and reliable.
  19. Just wondering what everyone's favorite web site is for ordering C&R?
  20. Ridgerunner..I agree on the barrel and thanks Todd, I did read my American Rifleman last night and I am not as impressed now as I was at first glance....
  21. I have nothing to hide or fear from them doing a background check, however I do assume that is what the ATF does with my application. I'm not certain why I should go above and beyond and provide the local sheriff anything more than required by law. If he is not going to smoke a cigar with me and talk guns, I really don't have time for it. I was really wondering if anyone else has experienced this when trying to get their C&R license. With that said, I respect the feedback and appreciate the comments, but I see the local sheriff as an elected official of the county government, and I do not see him as the "the law", since our last sheriff is doing serious time for trafficing.
