  1. Just to update and end-the-story, the sale went well at a dealer. A dealer my buyer is so tight with, I started thinking he may have even been employed there at some point. So no felonies committed in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. And buyer happy with his new acquisition.
  2. Yeah I remember CTD's stunts, too, when everything started going crazy. And several other prominent distributors. But like Oh Shoot said... and I'm no angel on that regard. I sold 5-6 AR's to suckers who hadn't planned ahead. Made money. Was figuring on doing it again when Hillary won the election. But I still thank God she didn't win!
  3. I've been watching price drops but haven't bought any myself. Too much still stashed that I paid too much for. [sad emoji not permitted?] But when I see good deals I like to pass them along. Sorry about no links, difficult from my phone. (Thanks for adding them MP5_Rizzo)
  4. 5.56 ammo today's Cheaper Than Dirt email ad. $299 per 1000 for a couple of different brass case. $199 for steelcase. $259 for 1000 62 gr. brass--I'm guessing this one may be an error!
  5. Cheap .303 Brit. ammo still readily available, well, by cheap, I mean under 50 cents a round. Wolf makes some FMJ and AIM Surplus has it. Remington and others have hunting ammo, Privi Partisan is probably the most reasonable. Don't make the mistake I made when I was new to milsurps. Bought some surplus ammo, didn't even understand what corrosive ammo was. Nearly ruined a pristine No. 4 Mk 1 bore by putting off cleaning for a few days. Opened the bolt and a shocking amount of powdery rust fell out of the action. Had been standing on its butt, guess the rust was forming so heavy in the bore it was just falling down to the bolt of its own weight.
  6. I've kinda wanted a fifty, as well. might look into these.
  7. I don't think you'll regret buying the M & P. Fine firearm. Agree with you on shooting with irons, and I've used the Magpul BUIS on several AR's, I think they're on par with a lot of much more costly rear sights. I notice there are a lot of polymer (fancy word for plastic) sights on the market the past couple of years, considerably cheaper than the Magpul. You get what you pay for. There are tough durable plastics, the kind Magpul uses; and there are crap Happy Meal Toy type plastics. Agree on grip too. I've got a box full of A2 grips (the standard grip), cause I always replace them. I may be a little bit nuts about AR's. Think I've got about 20 right now... (Oops, did I say that in public? Don't tell my wife!)
  8. Looks fantastic, to me. What kind of paint?
  9. I found my first Ljungman in a shop in Nashville probably 26-28 years ago, I had no idea what it was, except it was military. Unfortunately sold it during a period of financial reversals. One should never be forced to sell firearms by financial problems. So to right that wrong, I found another a few years ago, it was sure a lot higher than my first one. And so it goes. Now I've decided I need another 6.5 Swede rifle, but I think I'll look for a good Swedish Mauser.
  10. Yep, I've been contacted by FSD and they will do transfer. However, I think buyer has a dealer he prefers using. It apparently ends well.
  11. Garufa, you are correct. I loved them all, but I've been drastically paring down my collection and only have the Rasheed left. Keeping it cause its the rarest. I think only about 6ooo made. Yes, Raoul, , I'm also a big .308 fan. But of course I doubt there exists a caliber I DON'T like. Recently built an AR in .308. I am an addict, and Palmetto State Armory, AIM Surplus, Primary Arms, Bear Creek Arsenal, Midway, Brownells, and many more, are the evil pushers that keep me hooked. LOL
  12. Thanks to all of you for helping me avoid trouble. And that starts with a "T," and that rhymes with "P," and that stands for Penitentiary. (Remember "Music Man?") And thanks to Oh Shoot for the tip about Fighting Sheep Dog, I've sent an email to them to get info on how to get this done.
  13. And I would add a couple more but, apparently I've hit my download limit at least for now. Time to go do a Honey-do, anyway. Ya'll know how it is.
  14. I'm not much of a handgun or shotgun guy, or even civilian rifle person. Nope. It's milsurps that float my boat, and for the modern stuff that doesn't ever get to the civilian market 'cause it's TOOOOO SCARRREEEEEYYYYY... Well, AR's to take the place of M-16's, and Polytech M-14S to take the place of the real thang. And so on.
  15. IMO, it's another gun reg that should be eliminated, at least for adjoining states? Really seems unnatural that I do a transaction with a guy who lives 10 miles from me and don't have to have anyone's approval, but 11 miles from me I have to ask the government, "Mother, may I?" Trump gonna fix it all, right ;-)
  16. Oops. Didn't know that. I live just a few miles from the Oklahoma state line and I've answered For Sale ads from Okla. Don't recall that I bought any though. Is it a felony offense?
  17. Yeah, definitely got that. I'll phone the buyer in the morning to let him know we'll need to go thru a dealer and see what he says. Actually, I doubt it's a setup, cause thinking this over, when he told me he wanted the gun, I'm the one who said I have a trip planned to his area and suggested the face-to-face.
  18. So, guess we'll pay the transfer fee I thought we would save. What do transfer fees typically run in Knoxville area? Any chance I'm being set up? Tennessee do that sort of thing? Thanks to all for replies.
  19. Hi to All from Arkansas. Thanks for providing this Forum. I need a bit of legal info, hope someone here can provide answer. I'm a longtime collector of old milsurp rifles. Been drastically reducing my collection. Mostly selling online auction site. Just reached agreement to sell one to a TN resident, and by coincidence, I have to be in his area late next week. So we've exchanged I.D.'S and agreed to just do a face-to-face. BUT... I've learned he's Reserve Deputy. So I want to be sure I'm not walking into something unpleasant. IS IT LEGAL for me, an out-of-state resident, to come into TN and sell rifle(s) to a TN resident face-to-face? Thanks in advance for your help.
