  1. Please read the instructions on the forum and posted elsewhere in the first post of this thread. The password isn't your password, it is "I AGREE" in all caps. Participation in The Swamp is going to require some effort even once you're in there. Empty rhetoric without any facts backing it up isn't going to work. That's going to require some attention to details - so if the password already bit you, and I say this respectfully, you probably need to slow down a little.
  2. More on the gun here: https://www.juliegolob.com/mp-introduces-mp380-shield-ez-pistol https://www.smith-wesson.com/firearms/mp-380-shield-ez-manual-thumb-safety February 5, 2018 New M&P380 Shield EZ pistol features easy-to-rack slide, easy to load magazine Smith & Wesson Corp. today announced the addition of the new M&P380 Shield EZ pistol to the company’s market-leading M&P Shield pistol series. Built for personal protection and every-day carry, the M&P380 Shield EZ is chambered in .380 AUTO and is designed to be easy to use, featuring an easy-to-rack slide, easy-to-load magazine, and easy-to-clean design. When we set out to design the M&P380 Shield EZ pistol, our goal was to deliver an all-around, easy to use personal protection pistol – from loading and carrying, to shooting and cleaning. Throughout the development process, we focused on key areas that customers told us were important – the ease of racking the slide and loading the magazine. With that in mind, we reduced the amount of force required to rack the slide, and developed a magazine that is both easy and efficient to load. We have incorporated both of these new features into the M&P380 Shield EZ pistol, allowing consumers of all statures and strengths the opportunity to own, comfortably practice with, and effectively utilize this exciting new pistol. The new M&P380 Shield EZ pistol provides an easy-to-use personal protection option for both first-time shooters and experienced handgunners alike.” – Jan Mladek, General Manager of M&P and S&W Brands Built for personal and home protection, the new M&P380 Shield EZ pistol is the latest addition to the M&P M2.0™ family and features an 8+1 round capacity and a 3.675” barrel. The M&P380 Shield EZ pistol ships with two 8 round magazines that include a load assist button for quick, easy loading, as well as a picatinny-style equipment rail to accommodate accessories. The pistol also features an optimal M&P pistol 18-degree grip angle for a natural point of aim, white-dot front and adjustable white-dot rear sights, and a light, crisp trigger with an MSRP of $399. The M&P380 Shield EZ pistol has begun shipping, and will be widely available at firearms dealers across the nation by the end of February 2018. M&P380 Shield EZ pistol features include: Easy-to-Use Design Easy-to-rack slide for trouble-free manipulation Tapered rear slide serrations, providing an easy-to-grasp surface Easy-to-load magazine design with load assist button for quick, easy loading Superior Performance One-piece, single action trigger for crisp trigger pull with tactile and audible trigger reset Windage-adjustable, white dot rear sight M2.0 enhanced grip texture optimized to size and .380 AUTO recoil Superior Controls Tactile loaded chamber indicator to both see and feel if a round is in the chamber Reversible magazine release that’s easily adjusted for left or right hand operation Available with ambidextrous manual thumb safety
  3. I've been mentioning this to my wife every chance I get and she's wanting to be active on here again. The big challenge for her right now is free time. With a 4-year old, a 5-month old and a 45-year old (me), she doesn't get much of it.
  4. 'Tis a true cycle. The nice thing about it, though, is that meat is good for you to eat! It's the carbs that most people pack around the meat and on the plate that get you in trouble. So, really, I'm smoking food for my own health.
  5. I did about 20lbs of pork BBQ on the smoker last weekend and we've been slowing eating on it over the week. I'll vacuum seal about half of it tonight or tomorrow and freeze it. I'm pretty BBQ'd out right now. That also means it's time to do a full packer brisket soon.
  6. Dilly dilly!
  7. That's awesome!
  8. What makes me sad is that there wasn't another customer present to loudly protest how unsafe the mentally-ill customer was making them feel. That would have really made it a circus!
  9. Well, to be fair, the regional manager isn't the one who made the officer leave. That was done by a moron manager at the store level, and chances are that moron manager himself/herself agreed with the mentally-ill customer on at least some level otherwise they would have told the mental person that they were being unreasonable, perhaps even insane, and that they should enjoy their Bloomin' Onion, STFU, and leave the officer alone. One would hope that the "appropriate corrective action" taken with the moron manager either imbued them with common sense that they previously did not possess, or gave them clear parameters for correctly dealing with this sort of thing in the future.
  10. Man if I have the free time I'd be glad to do it. Lately that is one thing I only seem to have at weird hours of the night, and in small chunks here and there.
  11. I had another cup of coffee and edited the first post clear up my thoughts some.
  12. Mentally ill people like that female customer shouldn't be allowed to roam the streets and frequent Outback Steak House like this.
  13. Today, I am re-opening The Swamp political forum. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong about things. I was perhaps wrong to completely remove non-specific politics from TGO since it is something that many of you care deeply about and since politics are so interwoven with our lives, especially as gun owners. If you don't want to read about politics, simply avoid that forum. That is how I will handle it for myself and I hope you will do the same. This forum will be different in a few ways: Only Benefactor Members can post a thread or a reply. Anyone can read them but if you want to contribute you're going to have to show us that you are investing something back into the TGO community and aren't just here to stir the political pot. The forum will be password protected. The password will be "I AGREE" which will be a reminder of the fact that you wanted access and agree to conduct yourself in accordance with TGO's rules. If you're going to wallow in the mud, you can't complain later about getting dirty. Because it is password protected, I don't think it will show up in the New Posts activity search. You may have to set up your own Activity Stream to follow that forum if you care about it. If the crux of your thread is could be construed as "hate speech" against a group of people purely on the basis of them being in that group (whether race, gender, sexual inclination, political party affiliation, etc.) you should think hard before posting it. Ask yourself if there is any value in- or hope of- exploring the topic in a civilized manner that moves the ball down the field. If there isn't and your thread will just fan the flames of ignorance, bias or bigotry... we're going to hold you accountable for it. So, why the change of heart? I've been listening. You guys have made it clear that localized discussion of politics is important to you. When I considered it, the reason why was almost too obvious. Politics and gun ownership in any country on this planet are inextricably linked. Politics, gun ownership, and the politics of gun ownership are in fact reasons that this country even exists. Our founding fathers had a different opinion on how men should be governed than did the King, and one of the King's early efforts to shove them back into line was to try and confiscate all of their firearms. The rest is history. While I hope that the majority of politics discussed on TGO relate to the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, it is impossible for me to ignore that people who are passionate enough about their own liberty and safety to own, train with, and license themselves for carry of a gun are going to be prone to talk and want to be involved in all political things. We are, by our very nature, an active group of people. There is a switch within us that has been thrown and refuses to let us just watch events unfold in the political arena without throwing a red flag on the field when we see foul play. The moderating team is still going to pay attention and make sure that discussions about politics don't become divisive and poisonous to the cause of uniting gun owners. Let's make their job easy and not let it turn into that.
  14. The knurling is perfect. It's rough enough to give a good grip but not so aggressive that it tears up my pants pocket. Yeah I love my TGO version but I've put that and the other TGO editions away for safe keeping. I agree completely with the shape of the handle. I was skeptical at first and then realized how naturally it fits the palm and it blew my mind.
  15. I picked this up from @willis68 over at Bad Ass Blades. What a great knife! Pro-Tech Strider PT #2307. I'm going to end up cutting a finger off because I can't stop playing with the dang thing. It's like a fidget spinner for grownups.
  16. I have no problem with discussing the news. This is a newsworthy item, of interest to Nashvillians. I also have no problem with discussing politics that directly relate to the Second Amendment and Right to Keep and Bear Arms issues. What becomes tiresome and tedious to navigate are the threads about non-specific politics where party affiliations are used as slurs. We have a number of members who are registered Democrats and who vote more conservatively than some Republicans on certain issues, and vice-versa. What they have told me is that they get tired of hearing it and it turns them off to TGO in general. If the best criticism we can lob at Mayor Berry is that she's a Democrat, we might as well just criticize her for being white, a woman and middle aged. It seems like such a base-level criticism that it doesn't add any value at all to a conversation and might as well not even be stated. I've got a bag full of rocks labeled with other issues that Mayor Berry deserves to have thrown at her and I suspect many of you do as well. Let's exhaust those things instead.
  17. It's really easy to wonder what would happen if party-alignment or gender were reversed in this situation. I think most of us probably have similar suspicions of what the outcome would be, but there's just no way to truly know because the situation is what it is. That being the case, I believe the right thing would be for Mayor Berry to resign. I doubt she will. In which case I think the right thing to do would be for her to be fired. Which I doubt will happen. So the only remaining thing that makes sense is to not waste further taxpayer money on the situation by investigating anything else unless the outcome would be reimbursement to the city's coffers, and termination of employment, and criminal charges filed against either or the both of them if it was determined that they were guilty of misappropriating funds. And I seriously doubt Berry would lose her job or either of them would be successfully criminally prosecuted, so... what's the use? Too bad she can't be forced to take a Game of Thrones walk of shame through town. Albeit with clothes. Only two people wanted to see that naked, and one of them is probably really over her by now and the other claims to be.
  18. I was in contact with the folks at Queensboro yesterday. They informed me that I caught this in time and no orders had been filled with the incorrect logo. They have their art department digitizing the corrected logo and will send it to me for review within the next few days, and then we'll be able to release the existing orders to production. Once that happens, I will also reopen the catalog so that others can order.
  19. Opening this back up and hoping we can get away from the partisan jabs. Will lock it back down again if we can’t. Seriously, guys, the amount of positive comments that we received when we nuked The Swamp forum was very telling. A large but silent group of members exists on TGO that simply doesn’t want to hear about it on a gun forum. I can’t help but think your fellow members might participate more if the mudslinging wasn’t so prevalent.
  20. Annnnnd the thread got political, so we're done.
  21. IMPORTANT - READ THIS! (2/1/18) Guys, I froze existing orders and halted new ordering for the time being. I am in between meetings at work and really only have a few seconds to type this. I'll explain more later and re-open the store as soon as I can. I don't think anyone noticed that the logo didn't have the bullet holes inside the state. Just stars. Working with Queensboro to make sure that we don't let anything go out the door with the wrong logo, taking care of existing orders, etc.
  22. The wife's been using one of these lately and loves it... https://www.cancanconcealment.com/collections/hip-hugger-holsters
  23. That's awesome! Love the name! Congrats you guys!
  24. Due to lack of interest from the members and lack of available time to properly curate it from the moderating team, I am closing the Discord chat server for Tennessee Gun Owners. As of Monday, February 26, TGO will no longer have an official presence on Discord. If the day comes that we have a means of offering integrated chat that is part of the forum suite, we will revisit the decision. Until then, we hope that you will continue enjoying the same family-friendly atmosphere here on the TGO forums that we have always prided ourselves on providing.
