@Hozzie It looks like my neighbor has taken his family on a vacation for Spring Break. It may be Monday before I am able to catch up with him.
-
You didn't mess anything up for me, but I think it's a good reminder for everyone to pay attention when they're shopping online. One thing that *could* come of it if you don't call the bank and cancel your reversal of that credit card charge, though, is that the FPC could get dinged by their bank. Any business that gets dinged too many times for "fraudulent" charges will eventually have their account cancelled by the bank.
-
Oh yeah that's a really good point, to be honest. I've seen things like that on retailer sites too. Order some ammo or mags or something, check that box, and BAM you make a donation to the FPC.
-
A lot of companies form LLCs and Corporations in Nevada because Nevada is very friendly to that sort of thing. Check your email, Doug. See if you have ANYTHING from "Firearms Policy Coalition <thankyou@anedot.com>" as the sender. Maybe that charge *isn't* from these guys at all.
-
Are you SURE? That's the organization I linked to just a few days ago in the thread where folks were griping about the NRA. They have a form on their page that you'd have to have filled out to donate, but $5.00 is one of the options.
-
Doug, that sounds like the Firearms Policy Coalition that I linked to just the other day. They are in Sacramento. https://www.firearmspolicy.org/ Did you donate to them?? Firearms Policy Coalition 4212 N. Freeway Blvd. Suite 6 Sacramento, CA 95834 United States of America

Eh there may be a Tapatalk upgrade that I need to install. I'll look into it.

Justice Department to ban bump stocks
TGO David replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I am not going to tolerate anyone on TGO, moderator or otherwise, attacking someone personally rather than attacking the position that they hold. @jgradyc, you have my apologies. I don't necessarily agree with your stance, but that does not make you a traitor. That language is extremely strong. -
My neighbor owns http://trailercountryinc.com/ and they now have a presence here in middle Tennessee. @Hozzie, it would be my pleasure to put you together with him offline if you'd like to see what they offer and see if he can help guide you toward something that won't break the bank but will hold up to the rigors of time. I know this guy very well and he's not a corner-cutter. He'll steer you right.

I worry that some of ya'll only ever come in here to read the General Chat section. If that's you, head over here and read this thread...

I originally posted this on the TGO FaceBook page yesterday. Reader response there was good. Tennessee Gun Owners Published by David Yancy · 19 hrs · This is what activism looks like, folks. If you want to know why the Anti Second Amendment voices seem to get more airtime lately, it's because they are generally louder than we are. They organize, they mobilize, and they get their asses out there and make noise. Most people don't realize that there is essentially one guy behind TGO. Me. I built and maintain the forum, and I have a small group of volunteers who help moderate things. My resources are limited. Especially the resource of Time. I can only organize and mobilize so much. What are the rest of you doing? This isn't an excuse or a pity party. It's a call to action. If you want to be heard... if you want to have parity with the side that's working hard to erode your liberties... then GET INVOLVED. Organize counter rallies! Organize demonstrations! Don't just sit on your rear and hope that someone else does it for you. If you organize rallies that reflect well on our community, I'll make people aware of them here on this page and on the TGO forum. Just send me a direct message and tell me what it's about, when it is, what you want from attendees, etc. If it's not something that will make us look like a bunch of morons, you'll have my support. We can either sit around sharing memes, bitching about the other side, or we can take a page from their tactics and actually do something. Your move, Tennessee. What are you going to do with it?

Another organization that I have become aware of over the past month is the Firearms Policy Coalition. These folks are giving the NRA hell on social media for the compromises they (the NRA) have been making and are more of a grass-roots, no-compromise organization taking the fight to the courts. If you're looking for an org to throw some money at, they might be up your alley. I kicked in $50 toward their cause. Click the pic...

Welcome back! Glad to have you among us again. -
This.

Thank you - I really appreciate it! Episode 003 just posted to the various distribution points, too. For some reason this episode I started using filler words while I was trying to verbalize my thoughts, which surprised me as I normally don't do that. I'll be investing in a shock collar before Episode 004.

We posted Episode 003 of the Shooters Nation Podcast this evening. Give it a listen and share it out with your friends if you like it! http://shootersnation.libsyn.com/shooters-nation-episode-03-school-anti-gun-walkouts-and-every-day-carry David and Mark chat with their friends and fellow shooters, Brad and Jordan, about what it means to each of them to be an average armed American Citizen. They discuss why they started carrying a handgun for their self defense, what kind of gun they carry, and how often they carry. The guys also talk about the Wednesday, March 14th anti-gun protest "Walk Outs" in schools around America. Is it really an effective form of protest if you can't articulate what your stance on the issue is? And can you really claim it's spontaneous grass roots activism lead by our kids when significant money and resources are being pumped into it by the usual suspects? Of interest, an article that David mentions briefly in this episode while talking about following the trail of money can be found here: https://tipolitics.com/the-parkland-students-for-gun-control-have-not-been-entirely-honest-with-you-e82bdc8f1d2a

Jared's story is phenomenal. I am drawn to people who just aren't wired to give up or quit, and he certainly has that story to tell. Like Mark was saying on the podcast, the incident that Jared lived through was actually very brief but it takes nearly an hour to tell the story. Violence happens so quickly and so unexpectedly! We owe it to ourselves to prepare for it and to refuse to give up. The loser doesn't always get to go home when it's a contest of life and death like that.
-
Are you saying that American Outdoor Brands, parent company of Smith & Wesson, formerly Smith & Wesson Holdings, is bent on destroying the gun industry?
-
I was similarly impressed with them. Enough that I ordered a few other things for me and my wife after I received the first order. I've got a few things being processed for Shooters Nation right now. If they look good when they arrive, I'll add that logo to the store so that people can buy them as well.
-
I received my shirts and hats a few weeks ago and the quality was very good, especially for the convenience factor. I know that several others ordered, albeit not as many as you would have thought from the clamor for hats and shirts recently. Those of you who did order, what did you think about the end result?

Shooters Nation Episode 02: With Special Guest Ian Strimbeck of Runenation http://directory.libsyn.com/episode/index/id/6351722/tdest_id/666675 David, Mark and Dennis interview special guest and self-defense trainer Ian Strimbeck of Runenation LLC. In this episode we talk about picking the right handgun for carry, how every situation isn't always a problem for guns, what it means to be a multi-disciplinary tactician, and why you should seek to learn a variety of life-saving skills as an armed citizen. Ian not only shares a ton of knowledge with us, but also answers several listener questions! Also in this episode: Mark tells us about the time he and a co-worker took some training and got into a fight with knives inside of a car and destroyed it, and David calls out gun-counter jockeys who foist ridiculously incompatible handguns off on first-time buyers. We even talk momentarily about color-filling the engraving on your handgun slide just to make sure we alienate everyone possible! You can learn more about Ian, Runenation and the Greyhive cadre of instructors at these links: https://www.runenationllc.com https://greyhive.com/
