I found this article online and thought it was excellent. Worth sharing here. Source: http://bfelabs.net/printing-doesnt-matter/ This really goes back to the fundamental reason that I have been so vocally supportive of concealed carry and against open carry. I believe that open carry has a very narrow lane within which it has practical purpose or benefit, whereas concealment has a much wider range of benefits. Realizing that this can become a somewhat religious debate, particularly with those people who advocate open carry as some sort of talisman that wards off evil doers or who use the visibility of their handgun as a sort of well-intentioned but misguided Pro-2A political statement, I would encourage you to read the article that I linked at the start of this post and then respond if you feel led to do so. As a note, I realize that some folks simply cannot conceal-carry for physical reasons. That's a different animal and is one of the few reasons why I am glad that Tennessee does not force concealment. I still hope that those people use some sort of garment or bag or other cover method to hide or obscure their firearm to maintain a tactical advantage. Anyway, have fun reading.

From a BBC report... Drug abuse and suicide seem to have a pretty strong correlation with one another, as evidenced by the countless list of celebrities with well-known chemical addictions who have taken their own lives. Drugs tend to amplify emotions and many of them thin-down a person's apprehensions and prohibitions toward behavioral extremes and risky, sometimes fatal, activities. While I am not saying that Bourdain was strung out when he allegedly took his own life, I am saying that there is a lot of evidence substantiating the fact that once you chemically uncage certain emotional demons, a person might never be able to successfully put them back in their box and can fall victim to them much later in life. Even when sober. It's sad. If you know someone struggling with depression, help them get help. They may not want it and may not accept it, but try.

Look, there's nothing wrong with you supporting the cause in other states. I think that's commendable. There's no reason for me to reconsider my stance as far as Tennessee Gun Owners is concerned, however. TGO represents a small fraction of the overall number of gun owners in our own state. If there is a place for us to become more active in helping preserve and advance the cause of the Second Amendment, it is right here at home. Like I said previously, I would prefer to let other states worry about their own issues. We have enough battles to fight in Tennessee.

Our community's name, Tennessee Gun Owners, gives a hint to our mission. I would rather let other states deal with their own issues.

I think that you answered your second question with your first question.

The new emojis are now working, thanks to the efforts of the IPB support team.

While I do hope you stay with us, members do come and go. Please send a PM to me with the number so that I can sit on it in case others have similar problems and we aren't able to reach you.

It's actually just TT Gunleather; there is not an "and" in there. Tim Thurner is the name of the craftsman behind it.

How were you finally able to locate and contact him? That information might be helpful for others in a similar situation.

Recently we sat down with William, a retired US Navy SEAL who currently serves as the head of campus security for a local private school and church, to discuss Making Our Schools Safer. William provides several very reasonable strategies starting with no- to low-cost options that any school could begin to implement immediately. You can check it out here: https://www.shootersnation.com/podcast/013-making-our-schools-safer-with-us-navy-seal-william/ Making Our Schools Safer Up front, this is a long episode but it is well worth listening to in its entirety. You guys with NFA items that were being held by Guns N' More: What is the BATFE saying? If those items were transferred by the crew at GnM to some other dealer to hold until your stamps were processed, the BATFE would have record of the transfers and know who the new Class III dealer that you need to contact is. If something else happened... it seems the BATFE would want to be all up on this and getting in their business over there.

I'll do it this evening. I don't think the forum has to be offline for very long but it's not something I'd want to start in the middle of the day.
-
Ah OK I see what the problem is. This was supposed to have been resolved in the last update to the forum software. I'll have to take TGO offline to fix it.
-
I think it's safe to say this is probably every NFA-item buyer's bad dream. Please keep us posted on how the whole process works out. Hopefully the G&M owner transferred your item to another store and simply did not contact you, or weren't successful in their attempt. I know that I've seen similar stories play out social media and that has typically been the case.
-
I'll check on this.

Woodford is one of those that we will always have a bottle on-hand here at the HQ. It's a solid staple.

It's interesting to note that this TRP with RMR doesn't have a picatinny rail on the frame. The non-RMR does. This makes zero sense to me. I prefer a weapon-mounted light on my carry guns, and the TRP designation (Tactical Response Pistol) would seem to demand for a rail. I will be completely honest and say that in my excitement over this new model, I didn't even notice the lack of the rail until my buddy, Mark, pointed it out on the podcast episode that will be released later today. When he said it, I did a double-take and was immediately confused by what I saw. Weird, Springfield. Really weird.

The BATFE should have contact information for the owners so that you can get with them on claiming your item.

This is a bug that the software developer is still trying to resolve for us. It's a remnant of very old software from years past.
-
Wow - thank you! I'm humbled by that.

I think the path to answering your question involves several other questions. To start: What is your intended purpose for the rifle? Hunting? Protection? Plinking? Are you left or right handed? Are you wanting a rifle caliber or do you want something that uses the same caliber as your handgun?
