  1. I run the Squared Away Customs "ZULU" for it. www.squaredawaycustoms.com and use code SHOOTERSNATION for 15% off.
  2. The HK P30 is an excellent gun. I am curious: What swayed you toward this over your Glock 19?
  3. I don't recall if it was posted here or not but it was big news in the various Drinkin' Bros groups on Facebook. My last two BRCC subscription orders have shipped from within Tennessee.
  4. Amazon has my favorite WML for $100 today. Fair disclosure, this link gives TGO a small bit of a kick-back if you use it, which of course I greatly appreciate. https://amzn.to/2w1lwv3
  5. The guy who bought it from me described it as feeling like baby oil smeared on a glass mirror. I'm not sure what other activities he's involved in but I'd say the description was accurate none the less.
  6. NP3 has been around for a good long while. Back in the mid 2000's I had a Springfield XD that I sent to Robar for NP3 and the slide came back slicker than grease through a goose. Cleaning it was a cinch but the slide was almost too slick to safely manipulate. No joke.
  7. My buddy Mark at Squared Away Customs has an Agency Arms Glock 17 that was Cerakoted and has had hundreds, if not thousands, of rounds through it and constant holstering in Kydex gear at his shop. He showed it to me the other day and it has no visible wear on it. I know that Cerakote will eventually start showing some wear but his experience and the generally good feedback I see about Cerakote online leads me to believe that individual results depend heavily on material prep and proper application. The devil is 100% in the details. My M2.0 that I just had milled for the RMR by Primary Machine was Cerakoted and I am optimistic that it will hold up well. The next step for me would be to have a salt-bath nitride finish applied, similar to what the Glock Gen 3-4 and M&P guns have traditionally come with.
  8. Royal Range offers refinishing via their gunsmith AND they are a vendor here! We used to have another vendor that did only this but I can't recommend them at the moment. I'm all for the little guy succeeding but I also value when people shoot straight and just say "We got what we needed out of TGO" rather than make up some story about how they were going to get out of that business.
  9. I can submit a request to the software authors to improve that.
  10. I think the Church of Scientology has a similar approach to things.
  11. https://www.pluralist.com/posts/1824-millennial-couple-bikes-through-isis-territory-to-prove-humans-are-kind-and-gets-killed "Evil is a make-believe concept we've invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans." An idealistic young American couple was killed in an Islamic State-claimed terrorist attack last month while on a cycling trip around the world. Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, who were both in their late 20s, last year quit their office jobs in Washington, DC, to embark on the journey. Austin, a vegan who worked for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Geoghegan, a vegetarian who worked in the Georgetown University admissions office, decided that they're were wasting their lives working. However, Austin and Geoghegan's dream trip came to a tragic and gruesome end when they got to Tajikistan, a country with a known terrorist presence. They were riding their bikes through the country on July 29 when a car rammed them, according to CBS News. Five men got out of the car and stabbed the couple to death along with two other cyclists, one from Switzerland and the other from the Netherlands. Two days later, ISIS released a video showing the same men sitting in front of the black ISIS flag. They looked at the camera and vowed to kill "disbelievers," according to The New York Times. ... Read more at the link pasted at the top of the article. This seems like a self-rectifying problem to me, but it's a shame that people are really this damned stupid.
  12. A lot of what I see on other "buy sell trade" pages are the same things being listed over and over, or ads posted by shops that you don't realize are shops until you contact them. This hasn't always been the case, mind you, but even TGO has seen a slow-down in private party sales over the past year. The "Trump Slump" didn't just affect retailers. It's affected the secondary market as well. Give it a bit and the pendulum will swing the other way. It always does.
  13. Do you have a face for radio and a voice to match? Do you like talking about guns? Do you keep up with what's going on in the firearms industry, Second Amendment ecosystem, or realm of self-defense topics? Are you one of those people who can carry on a conversation with a wall, but strangely enough people DON'T find you to be annoying (as far as you know)? As many of you probably know, almost six months ago I started the Shooters Nation Podcast. For 24 episodes, now, we have had the good fortune to bring on about 20 different very well regarded subject matter experts to spend anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours discussing a variety of very timely topics. Each week we release a new episode for the sole purpose of making good people (like you) safer and better informed. I am looking for a person or two to join my co-host, Mark, and I on a regular basis to talk about things that are going on in the firearms, Second Amendment, and self-defense circles as we bear down on the second half of our first year. Depending on how well you integrate with us and our guests, and how much you enjoy it and how much spare time you have, this could be an occasional thing or it could become a very regular thing for you. To date our episodes have been downloaded over 7,000 times and we have a very loyal core listener base of between 200-300 people each episode. That may not sound like a lot, but bear in mind we're six-months old. It's only going to keep going up unless we screw the pooch somehow. SO... If this sounds like something you'd want to try, it is a good way to talk with GREAT people like industry execs, famous firearms trainers, etc. and contribute to the greater good by lending your voice -- and most importantly your mind -- to the conversation. The requirements are pretty simple: Good personality, able to carry on a conversation. If you're funny, even better! An interest in our subject matter. You don't have to be an expert. Availability during week-nights. We record at least one evening each week. Sometimes two. Usually Tuesdays. Broadband Internet connection. Send an email to shootersnationradio at the ole' GMAIL dot com and tell me a little about yourself and let's arrange a time for us to talk by phone.
  14. There's a reason why so many gun owners have boxes of holsters: Choosing one is HIGHLY subjective. Do you want to carry inside the waistband or outside?
  15. What's the difference between him building an "indoor range" for himself in this fashion, and an indoor range at a gun store?
  16. Link to how to change to the Large Font layout... https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/107515-font-size-changed/?do=findComment&comment=1493256
  17. We have upgraded to the latest version of the forum software. If you were previously using the "LARGE FONT" version of the TGO layout, you will need to select it again from the Themes link at the bottom left-hand side of the screen.
  18. My co-host Mark and I recently got a chanced to catch up with TGO's own Randy Harris ( @Cruel Hand Luke ) to talk about Low Light Training, Tactics and Gear. Randy was our first ever guest on the Shooters Nation Podcast and was kind enough to come back and talk about a subject which is pretty timely for any of you thinking about taking his upcoming FIGHT AT NIGHT class in August, in Dayton, TN. You can listen to the episode on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher and the Shooters Nation website. OR you can listen right here. We'd love to know what you think. If you liked it, please do give us a positive review on iTunes as it helps us out by making sure the podcast rises to the top of searches on things about Second Amendment issues, guns, training, etc.

  19. I recently let go of a few things that were either just holding down space in the safe or distracting me and fragmenting my practice time at the range. I shoot as much now as I ever did. Perhaps more. But my shooting is more focused on getting better with a smaller number of guns. I have been thinking about building something a little more fun out of my old Ruger 10/22 though. Something that would be enjoyable to take to the range and just blister some targets with, cheaply. Magpul stock, TacSol threaded barrel, bipod... Those of you who say you are burned out, do you have an EDC firearm? Do you look at it as a tool or a hobby?
  20. This sort of thing really needs to serve as a reminder to anyone who posts on the Internet, whether on a forum or on Facebook or other social media, or talks boastfully to friends, co-workers, etc. about how they would do a certain thing if put in the position to use a gun for self-defense. The Internet has a long and fairly indelible memory. Friends and co-workers tend to say things when interviewed by the police and/or media that they think would be beneficial to you but in reality aren't. People also tend to incorrectly remember statements you made or the actual specifics of an event, and misreport those things to the officials and media as well. Anyone who hasn't read Varg Freeborn's book Violence of Mind yet needs to. You can get it here: https://amzn.to/2LD991a *Full disclosure, that link gives TGO a small kick-back if you buy from it. Varg does an excellent job talking about those points and also makes the statement several times, as @DaveTN observed, that people generally get the level of justice that they can afford. We ALL would do well to keep all of these points in mind before making braggadocious comments, especially in public settings. Words do come back to haunt people. Further, NONE of us should hope to ever have to take another human being's life.
  21. I put a tourniquet on something that looked a lot like that this past weekend.
  22. Like I told @KahrMan, I'm going to invite you jackals over and give you some dessert to go along with your uncooked steaks. It's a cake. Enjoy.
