  1. Lazy Loading for Faster Pages It may seem counter-intuitive to say that something "lazy" brings better performance but, in this case, it is a true statement. Version 4.4 of the IPBoard software (what our forum runs on) introduces Lazy Loading of page content which in turn makes pages load faster for you while you are browsing. Lazy Loading is a method by which attachments, embeds and images are not loaded by default. They are only loaded when the viewer scrolls down enough to make them visible. This allows the page to load a good deal faster because it doesn't have to load megabytes of images before the page is shown as completely rendered. When you scroll through posts with pictures included on TGO, you will notice the way that pictures subtly come into view as you encounter them. This is Lazy Loading at work. The forum software loads the picture for you just before you actually get to it. Much the same way that Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other such services deliver content to you as you scroll rather than trying to generate huge pages of data all at once. If you're curious for more info, you can read about it on Invision Power's blog, here: https://invisioncommunity.com/news/product-updates/44-turbo-charging-loading-speeds-r1109/

  2. Unfollow Without Logging In TGO only sends email to our members unless they agree to allow us that privilege. Each email that we send includes a link that allows you to Opt-Out even more easily than you opted-in. In previous versions, the unfollow link would have taken you to a login page if you were signed out. For members that haven't been back in a while, this may cause some annoyance if they do not recall their login details. Invision Community 4.4 allows non-logged in members to unfollow the item they received an email about or all followed items without the need to log in.

  3. My pleasure! TGO is a labor of love for me.
  4. Thanks!
  5. Much appreciated! There's a submenu that is kind of hard to navigate to. Here's a direct link to the page that lets you update your mailing and billing addresses: https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/clients/addresses/ Thanks again!
  6. Last week I had the pleasure to sit down with one of the heroes of the attack on the US Diplomatic Consulate in Benghazi, Dave "Boon" Benton. He likely needs no introduction to anyone on TGO, but he and his brothers in arms had their fight for survival chronicled in both a book and a movie bearing the 13 Hours title. Boon and one of his partners in a new venture, retired Deputy Sheriff Bill Orndorf, chatted with me for a little more than an hour about the dynamics of fighting from within, in, and around vehicles. To say that it was a privilege to speak with Boon and have him share his time, expertise, and knowledge to make us all a little better prepared to fight to win in a terrible situation would be a gross understatement. He's seriously one of the most humble heroes I've had the chance to speak with, and is quick to dismiss all of it as him being a part of a group of men just doing a job that they were hired to do. Hope you enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed being able to do it! https://www.shootersnation.com/podcast/0046-dave-boon-benton-and-bill-orndorf-on-vehicle-defense-concepts-for-civilians-and-leo/

  7. I can post a recent photo of it wearing the Surefire X300U-A light and really send you over the edge. I've started carrying it to church.
  8. If you're not established in TN with a TN driver's license or other proof of residency, no one can legally sell a firearm to you without transferring it to an FFL in your home state of record.
  9. I have to agree with this as well. I'll show you my permit, and I'll sign a bill of sale, but no one is getting a photo of my permit or my DL. Sorry.
  10. I haven't experienced this yet. Perhaps worth noting is that a new version of the forum software is forthcoming. It includes a lot of new features, but also bug fixes from this and previous versions.
  11. Value is also going to be affected by whomever did the work. If it's a no-name smith from years past, I wouldn't expect any additional value. BUT... if it's a well-known smith, value might skyrocket. Say, if it's a build that someone like Armand Swenson or Jim Clark did or contributed to.
  12. WOW. Very thankful for you and your family that this turned out well.
  13. I wonder if the list of online sources they comb could be obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.
  14. Another plus with the Stones River center is you get to shoot with the locals, which sometimes means being shot at by the locals. Accidentally, of course. Invest in body armor.
  15. Already taken.
  16. Hmm, I guess you're right. I was under the impression that the ATF had said that AFGs were not allowed either, but hand-stops were. Good to know. Still, AFGs suck. Almost as much as the NFA's nebulous web of contradictory statements sucks.
  17. AFG on a pistol is a no-go with the ATF unless the overall length is over 26 inches, or it's already registered as an NFA item and you paid the government their pound of flesh for a stamp. ... EDIT ... Seems I was mistaken. F the NFA.
  18. This is how it looks today...
  19. I have one on a carbine length AR. I don't like it. I'll go back to a stubby VFG or nothing at all once I update that rifle with a more modern, lighter handguard than the 15" quad-rail on it currently.
  20. Yep. That and they have a vacant restaurant property next to them which is even MORE parking.
  21. Royal Range is a significantly larger facility which gives the impression that it's not as crowded. I'd wager they run as many or more shooters through on busy days as Nashville Armory, but Royal Range has the facility to support the volume. More lanes, more options, more square footage.
  22. I hope folks will list them out. It would be an interesting exercise to attempt getting on his calendar to discuss 2A issues.
  23. From what I know of his character, I don't think it would be likely that the desires of friends will carry any more weight than the desires of his constituents. He seems like a straight shooter in that sense. What types of pro gun legislation would you like to see him support?
  24. Good to know - thanks! So Yahoo isn't just blocking us comprehensively.
