  1. No worries. If we all just reply here as we contribute, it'll keep things towards the top of the new posts.
  2. Let's allow natural traffic to keep it toward the top of the new threads list for the folks who are interested. I appreciate the sentiment but I also have to be careful and weigh the consequences of how others may feel if we don't do the same for them in the future or haven't done the same for them in the past.
  3. You've honored your mom well. Cheers to her, and to you!
  4. It's interesting that you say that because my experience, and the experience of the majority I have spoken with on the subject is the opposite when it comes to older eyes and red dot optics. They tend to work better for us than iron sights do because there is a single plane of focus, especially for faster shooting with higher accuracy. I would suggest spending more time with it or, more importantly, more time with someone who could help guide you through acclimating to it. There are trainers who will gladly charge you for it but there are people like me out there who are just pretty good with it that are glad to help others provided it fits into our free time and availability. My problem is that I don't have much of those two things these days.
  5. Hey - great video quality too!
  6. I've been loosely following the CORE 2.0 for a while now but it seemed like S&W was only selling a very few of them and primarily to LE. NICE! I may have to pick up one of these now.
  7. Sometimes I really hate being right when I make an assessment of things like this, but...
  8. I don't put much faith in Facebook as a platform where a 2A entity of any sort can expect to exist without constant fear of the platform being yanked out from under them. There's a reason why TGO still exists. My question about that group in general, though, is what are the members actually doing to accomplish anything? Is it slacktivism where the 99.99% expect the 0.001% to do all of the actual work and won't even bother to call or write their representatives -- let alone actually show up in person, dressed nicely, at a rally or their representatives' offices -- or is it more than that? I've been part of enough Facebook groups for other non-2A things that my opinion of their value has soured greatly. If people can't do "it" on their phone, whatever it is... they just don't. But they'll join your group to "support" you in doing "it" for them... as long as you don't say something that ruffles their feathers. Just keepin' it real. I don't have a whole lot of free time or energy to invest in ineffective social-media circle jerks. Not saying that the group in question is one of those but, without knowing for sure, I am honestly jaded against this sort of thing, from experience.
  9. Agreed. What's Arabic for, "Oh, ####!" because I bet it got plenty of use when those jackasses figured out what they had shot down.
  10. Someone needs to remind him that he wouldn't need that pistol brace if his dad would get rid of the NFA, or... hell... the BATFE.

  13. You left a zero off of that number.
  14. I think if they do it on American soil, Trump is going to make our response to Pearl Harbor look like a dry-run.
  15. Y'all inspired me to order my own copy. If the price difference isn't great enough, I still prefer to order paper over Kindle... so my hard copy should be here either today or tomorrow.
  16. @Luckyforward, this is an incredibly kind and thoughtful post and indicative of the high caliber of people that we are so fortunate to have assembled here. There are undoubtedly those who may feel that they are not as welcomed here as others, but the fact is that it takes all of us and our varying thoughts and opinions on things to make this community work. Even the folks I argue with. I have said before that TGO is nothing without the members, and that is a very true statement. I appreciate each of you and your contributions to this community more than you will likely ever know.
  17. Oh I'm not naming names. It could literally be anyone. There are many well known national trainers, of course.
  18. Sadly it's not just the anti-2A crowd that are going to be the death of the NRA. My opinion is that we've got at least one big name national trainer who has taken on the guise of being a champion for reforming the NRA who is really just trying to satiate an old grudge he has with them. If he is able to get rid of WLP without killing the NRA in the process, my guess is he'd be happy with that - but if the patient dies in the process of killing the cancer, he'd be fine with that too.
  19. I don't want to say that I've completely and utterly given up on the NRA, but whenever I see them post... anything... my reaction is usually severe eye-rolling and violent gagging. Until the NRA board is absolutely purged of the Old Guard and WLP is unemployed, I will have no faith in the organization's ability to do anything effective for the 2A or to be relevant to the modern gun owner.
  20. Quite welcome! I'm always amazed at the features the software has that others use and I've not even discovered!
  21. Yep... it's working again post-upgrade.
  22. I'm not even sure what condensed or expanded view are. Is there a screenshot that you can show me where you select that? Nevermind... I see it in the activity stream. I am going to be updating the forum software here in a little bit tonight. Maybe that'll fix it.
  23. Reading the news tonight, it sounds like we smoked a few more baddies while Iran was "taking three days to mourn". Clearly the US doesn't take days off.
  24. Yep. He got a few things right. Sending Iran a pallet of USD was insanely stupid, though.
  25. I dream of a day when we never have another Democrat in the Oval Office not pushing a vacuum cleaner.
