  1. Color me curious, but I was wondering what sort of bladed tools you folks carry around with you? Mine's a SOG Flash II Tanto (serrated) folder. Automatic open, etc. Second one up from the bottom in this picture:
  2. Alan, welcome aboard. Glad to have you here!
  3. Welcome! I think most of us suffer from MIGB Syndrome.
  4. Shane, I increased the hosting limit to 10MB for members. If you want, you can always ZIP up photos like that, email them to me and I'll post them under my account so that it doesn't deduct from your storage allocation.
  5. Countless XDTalk members have used him with success. I think this is the case of a vocal minority getting air-time because they were unhappy with something. Kind of like how Delk gets the shaft a lot on Tennesspeed because a few people don't like them or something they did, but countless others you never hear from are tickled to death with them. AJames has gotten nothing but praise from 99.999999% of the people who have used him.

  7. Reef, AJames over on XDTalk will install and laser boresight and sights that he installs on your slide for free if you buy the sights from him. He also does this for a $15 fee which includes return shipping if you just send him your slide and sights. https://www.shop.xd-hs2000.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=26&categoryId=15 He's down in Alabama so I bet turnaround would be really quick.

  9. No, I asked them if they had.
  10. About.... ? The responses to the dirty magazines jamming thread that I started on XDTalk were mostly people defending the XD by accusing the guys here of being Glock fanboys. I suspected that would happen and didn't even count those replies as being valid. The same would have happened if a Glock person posted something like that about Glocks over on GlockTalk and said that the people accusing the guns of failing were XD owners. There were a few valid responses from people who said that they have dropped their mags in the dirt, mud, snow, etc. while shooting competitions and that they had no such failures. They did say that they shook their mags out before slamming them back into the gun. One fellow said that anyone who slams a magazine full of dirt into their gun deserves to have it jam. I realize of course that when it's a life or death situation, you might not have time to shake out the dirt and if the Glocks fired full of gunk, then that's a testimony to them being able to eat all sorts of garbage and still fire. I'm not going to test it out on my XD anytime soon, though, and prefer not to ever have to find out.
  11. I don't think God would have a problem with carrying there.
  12. Welcome! I'm a fan of the 45 myself... own two, carry one daily.
  13. I have an old Enfield at my parents house that I have shot many many times. In fact, before I bought my Remington .30-06 pump, the Enfield was my hunting rifle... iron sights and all. Would absolutely love to own the Springfield SOCOM M1 but don't see myself spending $1700 on it anytime soon. Other than that, I have my Bushmaster M4gery which is also a ton of fun to shoot.
  14. I think you'd like the CTAC a lot. Too bad that one I had sold before you got to it or I could have saved you some money. A rigid belt makes worlds of difference!
  15. Does it do this if you login directly through the forum as opposed to the "portal" front end? Forum Portal I'm wondering if it might be the Portal. Also, what web browser are you using?
  16. Glad to have you here with us, Dave. I read your bio over on Tactical Response a few days ago and look forward to your participation here.
  17. An unloaded gun is just an expensive hammer. Condition One.
  18. Welcome! What does ETS do exactly?
  19. Here's a good basic overview on the two mentioned here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USPSA http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IDPA I would love to go watch a match one of these days. I hear it's a ton of fun.
  20. It's worse than Christmas. At least you know when Christmas is going to be here.
  21. Perhaps we can discuss this maturely albeit passionately here. What do you think of the current situations in the Middle East? Bush's decision to send more troops to Iraq Likelihood of successfully stabilizing Iraq The apparent upcoming stare-down with Iran I noticed this news story hit the wires just an hour ago. (LINK) Gotta admit that I'm not real crazy about the collision course we seem to be on with Iran. I definitely think Iran needs to have it's ass spanked but I'm not sure now is the time as hard as our guys are already working over there and as thin as they seem to be spread. Thoughts?
  22. Your post mirrors my own method of doing things. And I too can't fault anyone for keeping their sidearm on them at home. Like you said, personal preference!
  23. Glad you came over, Jeff. Old guns are cool stuff, in my book. We've got a slew of them at my relatives back in Kentucky just waiting to be sorted out.
  24. Very glad to have you here. Saw your reply over on XDTalk and it's good to see more local folks filtering over.
