  1. Welcome, Boomhower! I've owned several XDs and really like them, but recently the new Smith & Wesson M&P 40c (compact) won my heart. If you haven't held one of them, give it a try before you commit.
  2. Well I learned something new today. I didn't think you could buy a firearm of any sort in another state without having it transferred to an FFL in your home state.
  3. You're living my life in reverse it seems. I want to move out of our subdivision to a place where I can pee in the yard and shoot out the front door.
  4. Glad to see you over here! We don't crank out a ton of threads or posts every day, but so far I'm happy to say that the ones made are good stuff.
  5. If someone tried to break me of my shooting style these days by jamming their thumb into my closed eye, I'd probably shoot them on the spot. But I'm temperamental like that.
  6. I'd forgotten this thread. Oops! I've fired about 50 rounds of the CCI Blazer aluminum through my XD45 Compact, the Kimber 1911, the wife's XD9 Subcompact and now my Smith & Wesson M&P 40c. All of them handled it very well and experienced no failures to fire or eject. The ammo burned clean and didn't foul the guns up any more than other target ammo that I have used.
  7. Hey Chris! Good to see you make it over here.
  8. This past weekend I found myself wondering if it could work out to have middle Tennessee (aka Nashville and surrounding areas) TGO members get together one Saturday morning each month for a breakfast somewhere, and then follow it up with a journey to one of the local shooting ranges. Now that warmer weather is upon us, the range on Hobson Pike might be a good place. Is anyone interested? I don't know that I could make it every time, but I'd try.

    1919a4 project

That is one of the coolest things I've seen.
  10. Thanks for the heads up, and welcome! We'll remove the other account if it's still lingering around.
  11. Welcome! Nice choice of sidearm, too.
  12. HAHAH... we had spies following you around, Len. If you had bought one, there would have been pictures posted here of money changing hands and of you giving furtive glances around as you quickly put the badge in your pocket.

    Beautiful day

Same here! Plus it keeps my nicer t-shirts from getting ugly pit stains on them when I wear a white t-shirt under them.
  14. I was selling them.
  15. Someone should have talked you out of spending the money. Too bad no one like that was around you... only bad influences.
  16. Maybe she'd like it more if she went shooting with Reef.
  17. Welcome!
  18. What... am I the only person who thought that?
  19. HAHAH... I now have new signature material!!!
  20. Beyond a doubt. Some of the funnier things I've read on Glocktalk were from weekend warrior types.
  21. Eh. They never even uttered the Greek phrase in the movie, just normal old English "Come and get them". I guess if we see a bunch of people with Come and get them! tattooed on themselves in Old English font, we'll know what's up won't we?
  22. I've heard that the fairgrounds show isn't all it is cracked up to be. Too bad so many firearms owners feel that they have to dress like militia when they go to these things. I wish they'd just dress like normal people so that the anti-rights crowd would have one less stone to throw.
  23. I think it's relative to the size of the community. There are so many Glocks out there in circulation that it's sort of like popping over onto a Ford Mustang message board and finding several dozen people who think that they've got something in common with John Force just because certain elements of his work car vaguely resemble a Mustang. Thankfully I've not noticed much of that sort of stupidity over on XDTalk yet, but I'm afraid the operative word is indeed "yet". As those handguns gain popularity, we'll probably see some mall ninjas over there too.
  24. Why do you figure that? I don't think I noticed any tattoos in the movie, and ΜOΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ has been around for... oh... about 3,000 years now.
