  1. You quite possibly have the best job ever.
  2. Oh, I'm sure it's the extractor. I just don't see paying a local smith for repair when I can get it done for free under warranty.
  3. The last one really explains it all, Voodoo.

You're probably hitting the slide release with your thumb while you're shooting. I'd be willing to bet you a Coke on it. I did this several times before I realized what was going on and adjusted my grip to compensate. The XD's slide release is not optimally positioned in my opinion.
  5. Always happy to have another person join us here! I've had a few Glocks over the past years.
  6. Well, in keeping with this little experiment I washed both of our cars today while wearing the 40c in the CTAC. Still just as comfortable and secure as ever.
  7. I hate my gut. Oh wait, you're talking about the holster.
  8. I had Big Ed's about 20 years ago with my grandfather. He used to travel to Oak Ridge frequently for work (nuclear plant security) and I got to go with him once. Of all the things I remember best about the place, Big Ed's is one of them. We ate in the restaurant then we ordered another one to go for later at the hotel. I'm serious. I'd drive over there for it. For sentimental reasons if nothing else.
  9. Sorry to hear your part of the state got soaked. We probably could have used the rain here too but I'm glad it missed us.
  10. Wow... what amazing weather we had this weekend here in the greater Nashville area. We've had the windows open on the house all day today and just got done grilling some pork chops. Yesterday we met up with some of the local TGO folks and shot indoors at On Target in Murfreesboro. Unfortunately we got to the Stones River Outdoor Resource Center range a little too late; it would have been nice to shoot outdoors. So what have the rest of you folks done to enjoy the weather? Anything? I feel bad for anyone who worked inside.
  11. I'm telling you folks... if you do this at Big Ed's I might just have to drive 3hrs to join you. YUM!!!
  12. Dear TGO Members... Tennessee Gun Owners is your organization. There is absolutely no need to seek administrative approval to organize local get togethers whether it be a trip to the range, lunch somewhere, dinner, a backyard BBQ, or whatever. We want you folks to get together in safe, friendly environments. Invite your non-firearms enthusiast friends! Bring your spouse, your kids, your significant other (but not at the same time as your spouse!). Get folks involved! The only things we ask are that: You assemble peaceably and in a legal fashion. You try to keep the event "Family Friendly" ... i.e. not at the local nudie bar You take pictures and post them in our gallery so everyone else can enjoy your fun! Please remember that if you assemble as TGO members, you're in essence representing this community. Do your best to put your best foot forward in the spirit of promoting a positive image of firearms owners and enthusiasts in the great state of Tennessee.

  13. Southpaw wants to know if that's what a new dining room set is supposed to look like. I told her it's the Tactical Version.
  14. Ignore the gut... I'm taking steps to reduce it.
  15. There's an area in particular over here that I keep thinking about. Just not sure what I'd have to go through in order to get a business loan and/or backers.
  16. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that I'd almost gladly put on my truck if it weren't for the fact that I don't want it to get keyed or firebombed. It had the Arabic writing for the word "ISLAM" and then in English said "Religion of peace, my ass." That sums up my thoughts on the issue. But I'm kind of closed minded like that I guess.
  17. You apparently have a very close extended family. This isn't Arkansas Gun Owners! Please God tell us it's a typo.
  18. I've actually had some interest in this conference. Not a day goes by that I don't think about eventually leaving corporate America and going into business for myself running a range and gun shop somewhere in the area not already serviced by one.
  19. I decided to continue my test of just how comfortable and concealable the Comp-Tac CTAC holster and Smith and Wesson M&P 40c handgun combination really could be. I pretty much wear it from the moment I'm dressed in the morning til the moment I go to bed at night if I'm not at work. At work, it stays locked up in my desk - which is allowed by the company. Anyway, I decided to try to mow the yard yesterday with the CTAC and firearm tucked away at the 4 o'clock position. 45 minutes later, after push mowing our 3/4 acre lot, the CTAC and gun were just as comfortable as the moment I started. The holster was a little damp with sweat but the gun itself was dry thanks to the kydex sweat guard. I continue to be impressed with how great this combination of gun and holster are for concealment. Easily the best pairing I have had yet.
  20. Here's what it is doing... I will be sending these pictures to Ruger along with a few smashed empty casings along with the rifle. Maybe they will be able to quickly diagnose and correct the problem. It's a shame, really. I'd always heard that 10/22 rifles functioned as smoothly as sewing machines. Makes me wonder what sort of quality control they really do with these before they let them leave the factory. I know there's not any other Ruger firearm that I'd even want to own.
  21. Welcome, Carlton!
  22. Underwater basket weaving contest.
  23. My title is "Director of Information Services" but the reality is that I'm a one man IT department for my employer. I do it all and have managed to prove valuable enough that they continue to keep me around.
  24. Welcome! Lurk all you want, but definitely feel free to jump in anytime you feel inclined.
  25. You're gonna enjoy it!
