  1. Well, you are for the next week or two at least. After that... you might be a Glock owner again, or a SIG owner, or a Ruger owner...
  2. We're working on this one. It's proven to be more difficult than I anticipated to find programming talent to handle the job. http://www.tngunowners.com/reviews/index.php That is already in place.
  3. On Non-Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (70). On Fiscal Issues, you rank as a Moderate Conservative (71). As I've said before, Libertarian by nature, Republican by registration.
  4. Definitely have it appraised. That gun has serious collector value.
  5. 7pm is going to make it difficult. That's a good 3 hrs after I get off work, but I also live 30 mins away ... so it's not like I care to drive home and then drive back. ARGH!!! I'll see what I can do.
  6. Welcome! Now get your carry permit as quick as you can and try to get your girlfriend to do so as well. Knoxville is a nice town, but like the rest of the world has people who'd like to make you a victim.
  7. People in Great Britain have been punched down for so long under an oppressive government that they don't even remember what it was like to have certain freedoms. Their great, great, great, great, great grandfathers couldn't even remember.
  8. Get back to work so you can buy that Kimber!!!

    Gun safes

http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2065&postcount=2 That post mentions a place here in Nashville. You might also view that entire thread as I think several people mentioned a few different safes that they have personal experience with. My only advice would be to go with one bigger than you think you need. Collections always grow!
  10. I'm glad you mentioned that. I need to try to attend.
  11. It would be great if TFA and TGO could somehow work together to improve the impact of both groups.
  12. That's a bold faced lie. Tower doesn't change his shorts. Ever. That's how he sticks to the towers he climbs.
  13. Mine posts here!!!
  14. Someone send that guy a link to TGO.
  15. The sear deactivation lever is actually designed so that when you put a mag back into the gun, the act of inserting the mag will push the lever back into the grip frame. If it was mangled, someone did something really, really wrong. The good news is that S&W will likely replace it under warranty.
  16. Welcome, Mike. I'm a sucker for the 1911s myself. Nothing wrong with a gun that has a proven 100 year history of removing the right people from the gene pool!
  17. Welcome and glad to have you here with us!
  18. I'm some of you have already seen that but it's pretty funny the second (or third) time around too.
  19. What it means to me is that our founding fathers would be pissed if they saw what the Government "of the People by the People" has become over the past 200 years. Edit... Molonlabe beat me to the punch!
  20. They're supposed to, but the store in Donnelson was out; I stopped by there today. I did end up ordering a set from them and it should be here sometime soon. I just got a little impatient.
  21. Well, I added one of these to both my and my wife's compact M&P's this afternoon and added a new HiViz green fiber optic front sight to my full size M&P 40. Really wish I had been able to find a brass punch set locally for that front sight. I buggered up the sight's base a little when I tapped it into the dovetail but hey... function over form! If I like it, I'll just order another later and replace it the right way. I remain really impressed with the 10-8 rear sights. I think the combination of the 10-8 rear sight and the HiViz front sight on the big gun will be a lot of fun at the firing range. That gun may see a lot of use if I get into IDPA and those sights should help make quick sight acquisition a breeze.
  22. Everyone knows that it's because Glock owners just can't keep their fingers out of things!

    FFL transfers

On Target in M'Boro is presently charging annual range members $30 for the whole transfer process and I believe that includes the TBI check. To me, that is a perfect example of good customer service. These folks who charge a % of the sale price are sending a very clear message to the customer: We don't like it that you bought from someone else and we're going to punish you for it so that next time you just buy directly from us instead. Well, message received and understood! When you rape me on an incoming FFL transfer, I'll use someone else not only for that but for everything.
  24. I liked my USP40 a lot. A whole lot. Until it came time to carry it concealed, then I didn't like it so much. I could have concealed a cinder block a little easier.

    FFL transfers

There's a gun shop nearby that does something similar in respect to % of sale price + fee. I don't do business with them as a result of that. I can understand that a guy has to make some money, but this is a service that really doesn't cost them anything. They have no overhead involved and only clerical work with filing the appropriate papers with the ATF and the State background check. I like to support the local gun shops too. I've done so quite a bit. But I am also not scared to look on the Internet and see if there is a better deal. My decision process generally goes like this: 1. Add cost of Internet gun + shipping + FFL fee + TBI background check. 2. Compare to cost of gun locally + tax + background check. 3. Are they within $50 of each other? 3a. If so, buy locally 3b. If not, buy from the Internet. If the local guy can't or won't compete for my business within reason, then I take my business elsewhere.
