  1. I don't drink when I am carrying. Period. Anymore that means I might have a beer at home with a meal... but I've pretty much cut that out too lately. No beer = easier to lose weight.
  2. Eh... I had two Comp-Tac kydex holsters for different XD guns (9mm and 45acp) and the 9 was always really loose in the 45 holster.
  3. It sucks too! I keep toying with the idea of a 6cyl 4WD pickup of some sort (Tacoma?) but can't convince myself that I'd save enough in gas to make up for the difference in car payment.
  4. How's the mileage on that Hemi Ram these days?
  5. They nominated some Len fellow to supply pizza for the next meeting. Other than that, you didn't miss much.
  6. When you compose a new PM, you need to check the box next to the line that says: Save a copy of this message in your Sent Items folder. The default for the forum software is now to leave that unchecked. I did this because people have a bad habit of not erasing their sent items or unecessary received items, and then they wonder why they can't send or receive any more private messages. If you want something retained as a sent item, you have to tell the forum to do so.
  7. As far as I know, I'll be able to attend.
  8. Brass is pretty much the most expensive part of a bullet. I've been collecting mine for the past two months, saving it away until I start reloading.
  9. City of Chatt IT? I imagine that's a pretty fun job. Welcome!
  10. Tom's show is on XM Radio on Sundays. I forget what channel. If I have my XM tuner connected to something at the moment, I will try to listen to him if I remember that it's time for his show. As for the Personal Defense TV show, I record that on my DVR and usually end up watching a couple of episodes at once. Both are pretty good stuff.
  11. Welcome Dave! I'm glad to see more reloaders popping up here. It gives me people to pester with questions when I finally get around to doing reloads myself.
  12. Very nice. I have one of those on order for my SW1911. Can't wait to see it.
  13. I just saw an email alert from Brownell's that mentioned Bore Tech Eliminator barrel cleaning solvent for removing copper, lead, polymer and powder fouling. Supposedly makes short work of this task and reduces the number of times you have to run patches through the bore while doing it. Have any of you had any experience with this stuff? Is it any good? Does it work better than some of the stuff that is more commonly available at Wal-Mart like Remington Bore Cleaner? I'm always up for any products that makes cleaning the guns easier and more effective.
  14. All good suggestions, folks. Please do not think that they are going unheard even if they aren't acted upon immediately. I do actually keep a page of notes for this sort of thing on my computer and will try to address them all. Things are just a little hectic for me right now so it's going to take a bit before I can work through all of the ideas and implement the ones that are possible.
  15. I've heard good things about Tightgroup powder. I think after I get some things settled down in my world, I may start reloading. I'd like to be able to load both 45acp and 40SW so that I can tweak the power level for competitive shooting.
  16. Glad to have you here with us, Randy.
  17. A pencil is a dangerous tool in the hands of an architect!!!
  18. Great stuff! Keep up the good work.
  19. We're likewise grateful to have you with us.
  20. It's my position that we won't censor very many things here at TGO because it stifles the free exchange of information. That said, it is always appreciated when a member opts to censor themselves if the information being exchanged might not be in the best interest of the community. I'll let 0down's conscience be his guide.
  21. It appears that the Tennessean has pulled the database from their web site. I suspect it's because usage was killing their server (the pages were horribly slow to load) more so than because they were pressured to remove it by the public.
  22. We've already got a thread on this, so rather than duplicate our efforts, let's all join in over there instead...
